Is The Church Supposed To Leave A Brother In Need Indefinetly?

by @ 11:39 pm. Filed under Saints In Need

Last year, I made a post titled Yet Another “Slain in the Spirit” Injury Lawsuit. Please read it to understand some of the details of this latest related post. Also see the comments under that previous post, where Matt Lincoln offers some updates about the situation.

Basically, Matt dropped his lawsuit and I’ve seen copies of the court filed documents ending the lawsuit, which prove the case has been dropped. But despite Matt first seeking help from his local church, not receiving it and after the strife involved in a lawsuit, then dropping the case. Matt still is not receiving any assistance from the church group he was part of. If Matt was 100% wrong for filing a lawsuit, he’s dropped his case. Should his former local church still hold it against him, or should they now embrace him and seek to help him with his mounting medical bills? It’s pretty much a given that they know he’s got lots of mounting medical bills! I feel, regardless of whether someone sees Matt’s lawsuit as good or bad, someone who did a deed not known among Gentiles was received back in 2 Corinthians 2. So no matter how someone cares to view Matt’s prior actions, there is no longer any lawsuit and leaving a Christian to suffer with no aid for their medical bills is just evil. I mean I can’t come up with any term to call it but evil. Letting anger rule instead of love.

So here’s the deal, you now have an opportunity to stand in the gap! You who wish to help Matt Lincoln with his medical bills can forward him funds via Paypal to the e-mail address eyelovejesus [put an at symbol right here] charter.net

If you feel what Matt’s local church is doing is wrong, rather than responding in anger, respond in love and help Matt. Fellow Christians, consider Matthew 25:31-46 and consider that you didn’t deserve the gift of eternal life in Jesus Christ. We have a brother in need and I feel he deserves better than us leaving him to suffer physically and suffer the hassle of debt from medical bills.

I really don’t like that some pastors lead people to feel they should fall backwards. While there are plenty of cases in scripture of people falling, who, why and how they fell is not a trivial matter, but of great importance. Saints feeling the power of God fell to their knees or face forward, while often falling backwards was not a sign all was well. So I dislike seeing pastors approving of people falling backwards and claiming they were “slain in the spirit”. It’s a per meeting practice in some churches, while in the Bible regular falling backwards was not occurring. Take some time to read this short write-up that explains in detail: Slain in the Spirit. With Christ present in flesh and later His Apostles present, we didn’t see people who loved God falling backwards from the power of God, especially not as some regular routine. People getting hurt should help identify something is not functioning in proper order.

In Case You Didn’t Already Know, Kanye West Is Not A Christian.

by @ 12:15 pm. Filed under Nuts on Parade

A Christian is one that has come to the understanding, that Jesus is the Only Way to the Father, the ONLY hope one has for salvation.

Acts 4:12 (New American Standard Bible)

12 “And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.”

and

John 14:6 (New American Standard Bible)

6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.

I usually don’t spend time making posts exposing trash rappers. I mean any real Christian in time can see the rotten fruit coming from their mouths. And eventually realize these entertainers are doing just like politicians and claiming “Jesus” for the sake of pleasing men. Not out of any true belief that Jesus is the ONLY means of salvation. (I typically try and point out cases that are a little less obvious.)

But as my brother Speaking Truth has noted, there’s a reason I must mention trash rapper Kanye West here.

“I believe in Jesus as an icon…”

Remember when almost every urban youth pastor in America embraced Kanye West’s song “Jesus Walks” as a method for evangelizing to the youth? They argued that Kanye would bring kids into the church by making Jesus “relevant” to their everyday circumstances. Well the kids came, but they wanted to be entertained – just like their parents. Oh, and the Gospel message never resonated with them either.

For months now, I’ve been railing against the dangers of “relevant” and “seeker sensitive” church movements because they focus more on the packaging of the Gospel message than the Gospel itself.

As the rest of Speaking Truth’s post details, Kanye does not know the Lord Jesus Christ in truth. And the fact many of us in the church may have tried to embrace his work for a time while we KNEW the very SAME CD with the theologically askew yet ear tickling track “Jesus Walks” also contained much other more blatant filth. It makes me think of how easily we Christians sometimes mistakenly allow the wrong people into the love feast. As God had Jude to note:

Jude 1:4, 12-13

4 For certain persons have crept in unnoticed, those who were long beforehand marked out for this condemnation, ungodly persons who turn the grace of our God into licentiousness and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

12 These are the men who are hidden reefs in your love feasts when they feast with you without fear, caring for themselves; clouds without water, carried along by winds; autumn trees without fruit, doubly dead, uprooted;

13 wild waves of the sea, casting up their own shame like foam; wandering stars, for whom the black darkness has been reserved forever.

So, although it is a bit trashy, read the interview Kanye West did with an entertainment web site recently. Specifically the parts where he is asked “We recently saw your quote “I don’t believe in religion, and I don’t believe in giving it all up to Jesus.” Does this mean that you’re no longer a Christian? “ And “So do you believe in Jesus at all? “ Keeping in mind Jesus is the ONLY means for salvation and those who deny it are devoid of the truth.

This should be a lesson of hindsight for the church. And to know that it is time to STOP making the same mistake. Those who don’t really stand on the truth should not be leveraged by the church in efforts to play marketing gimmicks like the world. The church should NOT be about ear tickling marketing gimmicks AT ALL. Stop chasing the ear tickling tunes, stop trying to take on the methods and ways of the world. Stand on The Rock of offense alone (Romans 9:33) and leave those who dislike it for God to judge.

Pagan Earth Worshipers Will Eventually Bring Government Compelled Baby Killing To Western World.

by @ 10:15 am. Filed under Nuts on Parade

Not much longer and China won’t be the only place in the world with forced abortions.

Two children should be limit, says green guru

COUPLES who have more than two children are being “irresponsible” by creating an unbearable burden on the environment, the government’s green adviser has warned.

Jonathon Porritt, who chairs the government’s Sustainable Development Commission, says curbing population growth through contraception and abortion must be at the heart of policies to fight global warming. He says political leaders and green campaigners should stop dodging the issue of environmental harm caused by an expanding population.

A report by the commission, to be published next month, will say that governments must reduce population growth through better family planning.

“I am unapologetic about asking people to connect up their own responsibility for their total environmental footprint and how they decide to procreate and how many children they think are appropriate,” Porritt said.

“I think we will work our way towards a position that says that having more than two children is irresponsible. It is the ghost at the table. We have all these big issues that everybody is looking at and then you don’t really hear anyone say the “p” word.”

Eventually, more of the pagan earth worshipers will cite married couples as being a problem and they will promote the false doctrine noted below with even more vigor.

1 Timothy 4:1-3 (New American Standard Bible)

1 But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons,

2 by means of the hypocrisy of liars seared in their own conscience as with a branding iron,

3 men who forbid marriage and advocate abstaining from foods which God has created to be gratefully shared in by those who believe and know the truth.

The more they deny the truth, the more they fulfill their role in scripture. Avoid their false destructive doctrines.

A New President And New Potential Persecution For Christians.

by @ 9:46 am. Filed under Evangelicals Under Attack

Well, the persecution had to come.

Read in full the article Obama “Forcing” Christians to Embrace Homosexuality, Conservatives Warn. Hat tip to Robert.

Like I’ve mentioned before Hate Crimes Legislation Could be Easily Spun into Persecution for Christians. So you’re going to have to decide if you’ll stand on the truth or take the popular route.

Matthew 7:13 (New American Standard Bible)

13 “Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it.

Also keep in mind, that Black Liberation Theology, what our President calls the “social gospel” is very accommodating of the homosexual lifestyle.

Also notice in the article above, there are no exemptions for small private businesses. This may also mean that even when it comes to picking someone like a baby sitter for your children, that you might not “legally” have the option of denying homosexuals.

Does Having Prayer In Concert With Pagans Help?

by @ 12:32 am. Filed under Nuts on Parade

I can’t read 2 Corinthians 6:14-18 and think it helps. In fact, it appears trying to have pagans say prayers and Christians say prayers together as some common bond is one of the worst ideas imaginable. How many times throughout scripture does God frown on intentional union on a spiritual level with pagans? Here’s just one example.

Judges 2:11-23 (New American Standard Bible)

11 Then the sons of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD and served the Baals, 12 and they forsook the LORD, the God of their fathers, who had brought them out of the land of Egypt, and followed other gods from among the gods of the peoples who were around them, and bowed themselves down to them; thus they provoked the LORD to anger. 13 So they forsook the LORD and served Baal and the Ashtaroth. 14 The anger of the LORD burned against Israel, and He gave them into the hands of plunderers who plundered them; and He sold them into the hands of their enemies around them, so that they could no longer stand before their enemies. 15 Wherever they went, the hand of the LORD was against them for evil, as the LORD had spoken and as the LORD had sworn to them, so that they were severely distressed.
16 Then the LORD raised up judges who delivered them from the hands of those who plundered them. 17 Yet they did not listen to their judges, for they played the harlot after other gods and bowed themselves down to them. They turned aside quickly from the way in which their fathers had walked in obeying the commandments of the LORD; they did not do as their fathers. 18 When the LORD raised up judges for them, the LORD was with the judge and delivered them from the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge; for the LORD was moved to pity by their groaning because of those who oppressed and afflicted them. 19 But it came about when the judge died, that they would turn back and act more corruptly than their fathers, in following other gods to serve them and bow down to them; they did not abandon their practices or their stubborn ways. 20 So the anger of the LORD burned against Israel, and He said, “Because this nation has transgressed My covenant which I commanded their fathers and has not listened to My voice, 21 I also will no longer drive out before them any of the nations which Joshua left when he died, 22 in order to test Israel by them, whether they will keep the way of the LORD to walk in it as their fathers did, or not.” 23 So the LORD allowed those nations to remain, not driving them out quickly; and He did not give them into the hand of Joshua.

Christians are not to bow and take part in prayers to false gods.

1 Corinthians 10:19-23 (New American Standard Bible)

19 What do I mean then? That a thing sacrificed to idols is anything, or that an idol is anything? 20 No, but I say that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons and not to God; and I do not want you to become sharers in demons. 21 You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the table of the Lord and the table of demons. 22 Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? We are not stronger than He, are we?
23 All things are lawful, but not all things are profitable. All things are lawful, but not all things edify.

So I’m just feeling great sorrow when reading things such as is noted in the following.

Policy and Prayer Mark Obama’s First Day in Office (emphasis added)

But before he tackled matters of commerce and state, President Obama took time to seek divine guidance.

His first public appearance of the day was at the last official inaugural event – a prayer service at the National Cathedral.

The president sat in the front pew as Reverend Andy Stanley led the congregation in a prayer.

“Grant to Barack Obama, President of the United States, and to all in authority, your grace and goodwill,” he said. “Bless them with your heavenly gifts, give them wisdom and strength to know and to do your will.”

Christian, Jewish, Muslim and Hindu clergy took part in the service – an inaugural tradition dating back to George Washington.

Seeing people who claim to be Christians having themselves used for grandstanding prayers is bad enough, but seeing the joining with pagans in it all is so profoundly sad. I mean this all had to come to pass, because we were told many would fall away, but it’s really so sad  .

The program from the event is here.

And I want to point out the names of some people I noticed who offered prayers at the event. These are just some names I noticed and wanted to point out, not a list of everyone. I’m sure if some of you read the program yourselves you’ll likely find other names that stand out to you personally.

Saints, don’t join yourselves with pagans and feel somehow God will hear your prayers. It only provokes the Lord’s jealous anger. Those seeking peace and love from God are provoking His wrath!

I’m left with nothing to say but come quickly Lord Jesus!
