I captured some of John Edwards and Hillary Clinton on CNN last night answering questions from people of faith. All the people asking questions appeared to be of some denomination of the Christian faith. I decided not to include video of Obama, because Soledad Obrien was fawning over the man and his questions were soft balls at best.
Check out John Edwards. And I’ve added something special to these videos
.
This man spends hundreds of dollars for haircuts by the way.
John Edwards claims to have been raised a Southern Baptist, but you’d never know it, given his stance on issues. Like creationism, which he does not believe, he favors the theory of evolution. And seeing how he wants to treat gays as if they were married, why did he even say he’s against it? What a joke!
And check out Hillary Rodham Clinton in action.
It’s nothing less than comical to see Hillary Clinton pander to pro-life Christians.
EMILY’s List, the nation’s largest grassroots political network, is dedicated to building a progressive America by electing pro-choice Democratic women to federal, state, and local office. We are a network of more than 100,000 Americans — from all across the country — committed to recruiting and funding viable women candidates; helping them build and run effective campaign organizations; training the next generation of activists; and mobilizing women voters to help elect progressive candidates across the nation.
They’ve given Hillary $36,425. That’s not far behind Hillary’s donations from major corporations like Ernst & Young at $38,900 and Merrill Lynch at $37,650.
So needless to say, watching Democrats talk about faith in politics was a total joke!
(*Update: Obviously John Hagee does not like being exposed. A “copyright infringement” claim was made against the 30 second video posted here, although 30 seconds is clearly within Fair Use guidelines.
If the video embedded below ever fails again, here is a copy of the video that Hagee does not want you to see, it’s in FLV format. You can get a free FLV video player here.*)
So in my efforts to help those who are lost, I decided to check out a little of John Hagee. Right now he’s pretty hot in the false teaching of the prosperity doctrine and his ties to President Bush and fighting terrorism keep in insulated from some scrutiny. You folks know I don’t mind Israel as an ally of the USA and I’m all for fighting against terrorism (especially considering the plot to attack Fort Dix), but that does not keep me from standing up for the Word of God. Because Hagee is playing the prosperity doctrine for all he can milk it for, full of false teaching and old covenant theology, that fails to explain the truth. I have to wonder if he’s misled or someone who knows better and working to mislead for the sake of gain. Given his years at it I think the later.
OK, so you know how I usually do, I’ll let you watch the video and then comment, but this time I’ve added a little surprise to the video
.
Who is the Sower Jesus spoke of?
HIMSELF, but John Hagee wants you
to think it’s about you giving him
(oh uh his “ministry”) money for
an earthly gain.
Matthew 13:3-8 (New King James Version)
|
So Hagee plays it like, yea see you give money to uh ministry (like him) and you’ll get something up to that 100 fold blessing, that’s a lot! It is critical (as in your eternal soul depends on it) that you understand how big of an error it is to follow Hagee’s view of that scripture.
Jesus said many would hear his parables and not understand, from that same chapter:
Matthew 13:10-13 (New King James Version)
|
He also mentions how it fulfills the prophesy of Isaiah. You’ve really got to read the entire 13th chapter of the book of Matthew, to fully grasp how messed up it is to get this parable wrong.
Jesus speaks of people like Hagee who see it as material gain when he said:
Matthew 13:22 (New King James Version)
|
Following Hagee will leave you spiritually in the thorns, not a good place to be! Hey, but you might have some money in your pocket if that’s what you really want
. The bottom line is, people who want money will get their reward, even heathens know how to make a dollar.
Now know the truth of who the sower is.
Matthew 13:37 (New King James Version)
|
Jesus is the sower. The seeds are his Word into our hearts and Jesus speaks about the righteous being the seeds that grow in Him. The treasure is not earthly riches, but the Kingdom of Heaven, that is the reward for all who love Him.
You’ve got to come to know Jesus in Spirit and Truth. There are many deceivers working that claim Jesus, but can’t even explain a fully detailed parable for the sake of their desire to get your money. Read the Bible for yourself, learn of Jesus for yourself, accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, who was born of a virgin, died on the cross for YOUR SINS and resurrected on the 3rd day, who now sits on the right hand of the Father. Again, read the Bible for yourself and seek to fellowship with believers in your area who walk in Spirit and in Truth.
update 5/9/2007 9:50AM: Heal The Land With Spiritual Warfare leaves this comment, which is most welcome here:
What is worst about John Hagee is that in order to gain the favor of powerful Jewish rabbis and political leaders (which in turn allows him to gain much influence and money through his ?Christian AIPAC? CUFI organization), he has stated that neither he nor any member of his congregation will target Jews for conversion. And he organizes all of these ?interfaith meetings? and things of this sort where Christians meet with Jews but are forbidden of speaking of Christ. Talk radio host Janet Parshall, a woman of God, did a man?s job when she was initially slated to attend one of these ?Christians for Israel? events but refused once the conditions that she had to agree to in order for her to be allowed to participate was known. Sid Roth, Gary Hedrick, and some other prominent Messianic Jews were obviously speaking of the movement that Hagee is leading and is a part of when they began speaking against dual covenant theology, which Hagee claims not to believe in, but his words that he will not seek to convert Jews contradict. Incidentally, in one of his ?nights to honor Israel? (televised live on Daystar all over the world) Hagee got up and declared that Jesus Christ was killed for his political beliefs by the Romans. I have quite a few posts on this fellow and the ?Christian Zionism? movement that he is leading, especially since it is blinding the eyes to a lot of things that probably are not expedient for me to discuss on your blog.
I am very much against those who wish to destroy Israel and hate Jews, but at the same time I am not into Hagee’s twists of scripture. There can be no “dual covenant”, because as it is written:
Hebrews 8:13 (New King James Version)
|
This is a truth that we should not be afraid to proclaim. Because running with Hagee’s twists that attempts to create his own “dual covenant” is not the will of the Lord. The Lord loves Israel, so do I and won’t allow nuts to blow up the Jews. But we can’t go with Hagee’s twists. We are to proclaim the message of Jesus Christ to all, Jews included.
I knew whatever I saw Hagee broadcasting yesterday would not be right and just posted regarding what he was speaking about, but I am aware of Hagee’s other twisting of scripture. Folks this is why Heal The Land With Spiritual Warfare remains on the blogroll. I’m not able to cover everything, not enough hours in a day, but he’s got information that you need to be reading.
update 5/9/2007 5:47PM: MinistryWatch.org gives John Hagee Ministries an “Efficiency Rating” of one star out of a possible 5 and a “Transparency Grade” of F, which is the lowest grade. They also note that John Hagee Ministries does not provide financial information to the public.
Medina Pullings has proved she wants to conceal the truth. She had YouTube remove the video included in this post on DMCA grounds. This post was written in a form that it fully explains things even without the video. The video was simply an aid to help in teaching what she is up to.
Friday, Jan Crouch called in Queen Pimp Medina S. Pullings. The “co-pastor” of United Nations Church International. A church were people can pay tithes online via setting up automatic bank drafts. If you feel Christians should tithe or face a “curse” you should read my post Reconsidering the Tithe.
I really didn’t plan to capture this many nights of this mess. (5 of 6 nights.) Watching it is like wading through spiritual fecal matter night after night. Having to shower myself with scripture afterwards. But I felt this had to be done. I don’t find, that many in-depth pieces about the actual events and the games played are being put out. Sure some newspaper might do one article, but detailed nightly scripture based analysis of some of the mess, with actual video might help expose some of that filth to light. Christians need to seek out and be under sound doctrine, not people catering to their emotions and calling it spirit. You will be hard pressed to find sound doctrine on a TV screen and even with radio you’ve got to be careful. Those raising the most money are often saying things other than the truth to acquire their funds and so they can’t deliver anything but false doctrine in the process.
Jesus warned:
Matthew 7:15-23 (New King James Version)
|
Pullings is a graduate of the place some of us call pimp university. Like Paula White, Medina S. Pullings’ physical beauty could con you into trusting her, but be warned. Her doctrine will leave you wanting for nothing but earthly gain. A reward your eternity can’t afford to bank on.
Jan Crouch called in Medina S. Pullings to perform for the final night. Now we know Jan is not one you might say has a marketable presentation about herself. So when Jan pulled her up, given what TBN is about (fleecing), you know that Pullings was hand picked not only for her false doctrine, but her looks as well. So with that in mind, watch Medina S. Pullings in action.
First, let me touch on this pastor matter. Because certain people assuming titles not granted to them in scripture is something that should always be noted. I don’t fear calling it out when a man like Eddie Long abuses a title and I will be straight and to the point regarding Medina S. Pullings, who assumes the title of “pastor”. Which functionally is the same as “bishop” or “elder”.
Titus 1:5-9 (New King James Version)
|
Women should not be assuming the title of pastor/bishop/elder. Running churches is a duty that was assigned for men to carry out. I could pull more scripture here about women and man being the head, but that’s not the main topic of this post. Those of you who wish to usurp scripture in this regard open the door to the Gene Robinson’s and all other manner of scriptural violations. Heal The Land With Spiritual Warfare has a good writeup on the topic. God pouring out his spirit on all flesh does not mean the violation of order. And all the pimps are violating rules for the titles they assume.
I think this quote best sums up Pullings’ performance.
Some of you need to sow a $300 seed, some of you need to sow a $3000 seed. Talking ’bout whooo. You said, well listen what do I do if I don’t have any of those things? Just sow a $30 seed if you don’t have it. Well should I sow a $30 seed, should I sow a $300 seed, should I sow a $3000 seed, which one should I sow? Sow the hard thing!
She is the epitome of twisting scripture to encourage people to give FOR personal earthly financial gain. She claims she did it all herself and bragged about charity she’s performed. She claimed she tries to do it in secret, but was speaking about it to the entire world. How ironic that I mentioned how we should perform charity in my post about Jamal-Harrison Bryant. (Bryant was on again for a while after her.)
Matthew 6:1-4 (New King James Version)
|
She has her reward. Just because the Lord says the reward will be given openly, does not necessarily mean an earthly reward. The heavenly return is the must better option. None of the apostles ever bragged about how they received a bunch of anything material for their labor, sowing and work in the Gospel. We do know that they were persecuted, often hungry, often homeless and continued to give. None of these pimps including Pullings can lay a finger on the apostles and the only time Paul briefly bragged is regarding his persecution and weakness. Paul never said “sow the hard thing”. He left it to each person to decide based on what they had decided themselves. And if “sow the hard thing”, which is what the apostles did better than Pullings is the best option, how come Pullings retains so much wealth now? Giving is not at all something I take issue with. Paul noted that Jesus said it’s more blessed to give than receive, Acts 20:35. (In that verse Paul was talking about helping the weak and prior to that mentioned how he didn’t take anyone’s money and worked of his own hands to provide for himself and those with him.) However, she mentioned that:
This is a time now where we are good stewards over our money. This is a time now that we don’t fund things that are not of the kingdom.
Using her own qualification, nobody should ever give a dime to her or TBN. That’s why there are continual efforts to convince us that they are “good”. Because they don’t have enough truly good fruit to stand on its own merits. Ministry Watchdog groups give TBN a thumbs down! They don’t handle the money well, they are poor stewards. Also their doctrine is horrible. What I’ve shown you this week is just an example of the kind of things going on at TBN. They have Trinity in their name, while allowing on speakers who deny the Trinity, how odd. But not really odd, when you consider the motive is money. Just look at the list of cults they allow on or cater to.
Pullings made no mention of storing riches in Heaven. She makes the goal EARTHLY GAIN. And is encouraging people to give out of their lack. That is not something that others should encourage. The amount to be given should be the decision of the giver.
She mentioned that she feels “sowing seed” helped her get a good husband and could help others get a husband. No mention of virtue.
It was just another night of give us all your money and give God your heart.
Did you notice how she compared giving to TBN to when God asked Abraham to sacrifice his son? These pimps treat TBN as if it is “God” and Pullings failed to mention that God never actually had Abraham sacrifice his son. But she’s willing to encourage the poor to sacrifice for TBN.
Look folks, if you just want money, there are plenty of books and classes on economics, that you can take to learn how to manage and gain money. Of course Christians should be able to manage money as good stewards. Folks who don’t know and don’t care about Christ know how to make money. There is no magic to it if that’s what you desire. But TBN peddles something that the biggest heathen in the world knows how to obtain, earthly gain.
Did you notice the scripture that flashed on screen during that video clip?
Proverbs 22:9 (New King James Version)
|
Was the person who selected verses trying to send a hint? Notice, “TO THE POOR”. That would NOT include TBN.
False teachers like Medina S. Pullings do not tell people that righteousness is gain.
1 Timothy 6:3-12 (New King James Version)
|
And you know I had to add this one:
2 Peter 2:18-22 (New King James Version)

Melvin over at Pulpit Pimps has a post up about the TBN mess and says:
When Is a Pimp Not a Pimp?

Each night on TBN there continues to be efforts to twist doctrine, to acquire money from many of the most vulnerable and naive Christians. Efforts to have them give money out of their lack! Night 5 (Thursday night) of the TBN Revival Praise-a-thon (April 8-13), which is really nothing but a Pimp-a-thon, was more of the same. People peddling the Word of God. And this night it was just so atrocious! Jamal-Harrison Bryant preyed on desperate people, calling them out specifically to send in money OUT OF THEIR LACK. He acknowledged Steve Munsey and played on Munsey’s game of 7, see Munsey run the game of 7 here. Then Bryant closed with the sinner’s prayer.
See Jamal-Harrison Bryant fleece the flock and then have them accept Jesus in the video below:
Given his prosperity gospel method of preaching and his gaudy methods, as can be seen at his own web site at empowermenttemple.org. (Yes he has it designed like a fancy car, a BMW!) This puts Jamal-Harrison Bryant squarely in the position of having a church of the Laodiceans. Meaning those who continue to follow him after accepting Jesus would end up having to repent of the sins Bryant puts on them, as scripture says:
Revelation 3:14-22 (New King James Version)
|
The gold, riches, garments and eye salve are not of this earth and the true riches that Christians should seek. They can’t be purchased by giving money to TBN. Let me again show who Jesus says we should give to.
Matthew 25:31-46 (New King James Version)
|
You accept Jesus into your heart, which I have no debate with Bryant over, but you give to those in need, the poor and share the Gospel with them. YOU DON’T TELL THE GOSPEL TO THE POOR AND THEN TAKE MONEY FROM THEM, YOU’RE SUPPOSED TO BE THE ONE GIVING TO THEM. Bryant has totally reversed the thing and it is WRONG. He is an example of those who are causing widows homes to be devoured and watching them give their last two mites. Groups like MinistryWatch.org have cited TBN for their terrible management of finances. But in the most recent TBN newsletter, they claimed that giving to them could be one of “7″ keys to your healing. Do you see the game they are playing here? Leading people who need someone to GIVE TO THEM that they should give to TBN and instead of the rich at TBN helping more poor people themselves, they do the old Joel Osteen, just leave them to God routine. While they are rich, they tell the poor that they will be helped by God via some other means. This is why the poor would do well to keep their money and those who have and wish to give would do well giving to the poor and people other than Bryant and the pimps at TBN.
Notice who Jesus said giving to is like giving to God, versus who Bryant claims you should give to.
Bryant’s methods of extracting money are corrupt. He is devouring the poor and leaving them with the desire to give for the sake of earthly gain. He is using the Word of God for dishonest gain. His mouth should be shut.
Titus 1:5-11 (New King James Version)
|
False teachers leading people with a focus on earthly satisfaction can do some serious damage.
2 Peter 2:18-22 (New King James Version)
|
Now when it comes to properly giving to those in need, instead of fooling the poor into giving their last bits of money, the charity should be done in secret.
Matthew 6:1-4 (New King James Version)

Having said all that I have about this Pimp-a-thon and its players, let me make it clear, that I’m not in favor of somehow having government do something about these pimps. The pimps must be exposed and refuted with the Word of God.

update 4/13/2007 3:34PM: A commenter over at Pulpit Pimps saw Bryant in action last night and offers her analysis.
For TBN, Tuesday night was yet another night to pull one of their name it claim it types from their stable. This time it was Eddie Long. The man holding the title “bishop”, while being so greedy for money that his church’s tithe (yes he’s a tithe enforcer) envelopes include an area where you can enter your credit card information. And don’t go thinking it’s just for people who want to debit from money they have. There are check boxes for people with an American Express or Discover card, along with Visa and Mastercard. You know I went there for 7 years, so I should know. (And no I never gave via credit card.)
So as usual, who better to trick people into giving TBN money, than a master at the game? Paul and/or Jan Crouch sit back and watch the performer entice the dollars right out of viewer’s pockets.
See the video below of performer Eddie Long in action.
With Eddie Long, you quickly notice, that even if he provides a scripture, he’s not going to stick there for long. He’s like a babbling scattergun. So I just took some clips that I found interesting and will provide some analysis.
Notice Long compared giving to TBN, to when God troubled the water for healing at the Bethesda pool. See John 5. At Bethesda, all someone had to do was get in the pool for healing, they didn’t need to sow a seed. When Jesus healed someone there, the person healed did not need to sow a seed first for healing. Long’s comparison of giving money, to God troubling water is BOGUS.
Then Long went on the defensive and claimed the old “touch not my anointed” line. This is the cheap method used by pimps, to try and insulate themselves from scrutiny. The phrase is pulled from Psalm 105:15, but as usual with pimps, they take it totally out of context. If you read all of Psalm 105, you notice that the “anointed” discussed in verse 15 is Israel. They were considered “anointed”. For Christians, all are anointed with the Holy Spirit. If we are to say that this Old Testament Psalm applies to Christians today, it applies to all Christians. Not some band of nuts that use it as cover when they trash scripture. But in all honesty, Christians are not promised the same physical protections granted to Israel. Notice verse 15 spoke of touching and harm, it was in the physical sense, not simply someone saying words. Christians are promised:
2 Timothy 3:12 (New King James Version)
|
So don’t go thinking the physical protection granted to King David is the same guarantee that you have, because being a Christian means you signed up for potential persecution at any time. Your soul is protected from death, hell and the grave, your physical body is a totally different matter.
Jesus warned that many charismatic types would come along, that are not honestly following him.
Matthew 24:24-25 (New King James Version)
|
Long told people “it’s time to possess the kingdom” and shortly afterwards said:
This is a good work, you must sow, you must give, you must share, you must enlist, you must become a part of this…
Oh, I must give to TBN? What ever happened to not giving under compulsion? Long took giving from being optional to mandatory. What TBN and Long spread are a twisted word, so I can’t say it’s a truly good work. It’s a pack of pimps lining their pockets and claiming God commanded that I fund them. On the contrary, the scriptures show that we should do just the opposite. Don’t fund false teachers and avoid them.
Long compared people who watch TBN, but don’t give to the Jews who were denied entry into the promised land. What a crock.
Then Eddie Long pulled up Super Pimp Steve Munsey. If you’ve been reading here, you know Munsey is no man of God. Well Long has been watching Munsey and come to the opposite conclusion. But what else would you expect a fellow pimp to say? Long claimed that he watches Munsey with pencil and paper. Pimps have to learn from somebody you know… Long then mentioned that he “ain’t too big to know placement in the kingdom”. Long was basically having a canonization ceremony on air for Steve Munsey
.
But I guess such behavior from someone who ran a passover scam and a bogus charity is to be expected.
Then Long mentioned, that saying things just to make big crowds is not a good idea. It’s like he criticizes himself, while right in the mist of running a game of lies. It’s like showpiece self criticism, to make himself appear to be honest. This reminds me of the salesmen, that while making me a sales pitch tell me that they “used to” scam people.
In another clip, Long spoke of how “timing” is important. As if you have to give now or you’ll miss out! He led people to feel God was “processing” them for “this moment”, as in give the money now. Then he said:
Your building is built, your finances are there, God’s touching somebody, your stuff is done, your house is done. Watch this, and even your body is healed.
It was classic name it and claim it talk.
Then he said:
You need to be calling in (repeated), this is a moment of empowerment, a prayer’s about to go and everybody enlisted…there’s too many lines open (repeated)
As in, you’ll get it all if you pay to TBN. It’s like these pimps play on God as some sort of mafia protection racket!
Long told people to pledge and go into “sweatless victory” and:
Don’t let the spirit catch you on the outside.
Could you imagine if games like this were played during ANY TELETHON except one for a supposedly Christian TV network? It would cause national OUTRAGE.
Eddie Long also went into his usual lines about a “shift” and “fresh anointing”. I wonder if the person on the last night of this mess will claim that they’ve got some cumulative anointing
?
Then Long asked people to “pray in the Holy Ghost”. Babbling that was supposed to be talking in tongues proceeded and then Long himself babbled some. Are we really to believe that the Holy Spirit would reside in the mist of bogus claims being made by someone making things up, to fool people into giving their money? Excuse me, but I don’t believe that God works in deception. And I KNOW I don’t need to give to TBN when the man on the screen says jump! The group babble session, even if it had been true talking in tongues, would have simply been foolish. As the apostle Paul noted:
1 Corinthians 14:23 (New King James Version)
|
I would prefer to think that Eddie Long is out of his mind, rather than to think that he’s willingly deceiving masses for profit. But I know the real answer is the later.
