God does not want Christians partnering with unbelievers in spiritual pursuits for essentially the same reason: The Lord is not with the unbeliever. We will fall for their sake.

I don’t consider Eddie Long a brother in the Lord, though, so, in his case, partnering with the world is actually a very equal yoking after all. It is just that we should take warning as believers to avoid the ways of these Pretenders-in-the-Pulpit who are masquerading as ministers of righteousness and misleading their people.

Yes, and he used to warn people to have nothing to do with Farrakhan! (Seriously, it was Eddie Long who started helping me see why nobody should ever have anything ever to ever ever do with Farrakhan. Which is why I expressed disappointment in this post.) It’s such a turn, the Atlanta-Journal Constitution once did an article about how Southern Black preachers have changed their tune regarding Farrakhan over time. (Apparently, about 10 years ago many of the Atlanta preachers were anti-Farrakhan, but many of them embrace that jackal now.) They didn’t include Eddie Long in that article, but he’s proven he’s right along with the rest of the lot, that does whatever looks good for the given moment.

No matter the race, the flesh is weak. Lord willing, some who fall for the strong delusion will find their first love.

I knew up here in Canada, that in the White church per se, the trouble we saw quite often was liberalism and word faith silliness…but I always thought that down in he States that the Black Church was so strong…but ole satan seems to have his own way of attacking your churches…

I must say I am appalled at some of those Churches I thought were totally born again, are running to slobber all over Obama’s shoes???? I understand being proud and that is cool with Obama being America’s truly first black president (with apologies to Bill Clinton) but our First Love must be Christ…

I have to say, I was so hurt listening to Shirley Ceaser the following Sunday of the election talking about Obama…it sounded like idolatry…from a Woman that I always admired in the Lord and enjoyed her music…

Pray for our leaders…do not blindly worship them…

Regarding when he started with the “body guards”, I also recall he was complaining some woman’s husband was supposedly after him. For that woman going home and speaking against her husband’s actions based off stuff Eddie Long used to preach against. That’s when he started saying “don’t say I said it, say it’s what the Bible says” or something like that. He was getting the body guards, so something or a combination of things had him rather concerned. Paul never “hired” bodyguards, the saints would stand up for Paul if the Lord willed he receive protection and Paul left it at that.

When I think of Eddie Long’s 180 turn with Farra-the-Con, I also recall how he used to be so against the policies of Cynthia McKinney and then later he gave her a soft endorsement (not directly, but inferred it rather obviously). And we know he was likely doing that for political deals in his favor.

I think it might have been right around the time Eddie Long got more into having “body guards” (one or more, I forget the number) that he started wanting to LOOK LIKE THE BODY GUARD(S). He said that he wanted to “connect” more with the men…

If you recall IC, Eddie didn’t really start gathering “bodyguards” until he called out “Calypso Lou” about the million man march and it’s “worship of man” (ironic, since now he is perpetuating man worship of him and Obama). Also, all (and I do mean ALL) of his boyguards are (or at least they were when I was in the club) minsters-in-training or various “sons”. It was seen as a “training program”…
