I guess we now know he runs with the apostate Gene Robinson types, instead of those who are Episcopalian and refute promotion of abominable behavior.

With the economy taking a slump, it seems those who promote false money doctrines are doing whatever they can to keep some attention on themselves. Even if it means partnering with secular entertainment and hosting events that have absolutely nothing to do with the message of the Lord Jesus Christ. It’s not even an event that does any service of good works to the community. It’s not giving food to the poor or free medical care, just a free spot to praise Obama.

Now how exactly, does a “church” teaming with a secular entertainment broadcaster and having a “worship service” before a “live ceremony viewing celebration” do anything but worship man instead of God? It seems to worship Obama or seek to worship God through Obama, rather than keeping focus on God through the Lord Jesus. The message being sent to the world is to celebrate Obama with a so-called “church” rather than the church staying focused on the man Christ Jesus.

How many times must I continue to post this same scripture?

There should be no “partnership” with the church and a broadcaster that is about secular things. There should be no special events for the adoration of Caesars. (And I’ll say for you who would love to claim I made this post for political motives, that I did not vote for any of the US Presidential candidates. My motive in posting this is to help saints maintain focus on Christ instead of politics.) You will not find in the Bible where a CHURCH held special events for political figures and adoration of any publican.

Also Eddie Long, given he always stands in stark contrast to the teaching of Matthew 6. Instead of keeping prayers as something treated as private and not displayed for personal vanity, Eddie Long has published a set of “Holiday Prayers”. (Here’s a local copy of that document on the Eddie Long Club web site, in case it ever disappears from the Club New Birth web site.) How secular of him to say “Holiday”. Notice Eddie Long sees the election of Obama as a “century” of prayers answered. It’s not like this or this or this are giving Eddie Long any pause. It’s a Black man in the White House, so Eddie is in celebration. This is what happens when you seek political leadership on the basis of skin tone, instead of staying focused on Christ. This is what happens when you set your eyes on the affairs of this world.

Avoid Eddie Long and his evil ways.

He was not speaking about the heresy of full preterism, because he (from my own discussions with him), I and other saints agree, full Preterist teaching is full heresy.
