Thanksgiving is also protection against pride. I discovered a long time ago that it is impossible to be proud and be thankful at the exact same moment. Pride says “I did it, I earned it or I own it.” Thanksgiving says, “God gave that to me.” No one thanks for what he believes he did by himself.

Thanksgiving is a trait we grow in. The more we thank God for all things and in all things, the greater our appreciation of Him and what He has done grows in us. It calms down the soul from fears and discontentment.
