Tomorrow, My Voting Will Be Quick Work.

by @ 4:09 pm. Filed under The Truth Shall Set you Free!

OK, I’ve already mentioned I’m not voting for any of the Presidential candidates and all of them disinterest me so much, that I’ll be skipping that portion of the ballot.

I’ve reviewed the US State Senate candidates for my state (TN) and decided I don’t like any of them either. All of them (except one I’ll explain in the next paragraph) seem to compromise on the the value of human life. They all (except one who I won’t be voting for) approve of abortion in some cases for sake of convenience. I only find a necessity to consider abortion if the life of the mother is in danger, nothing more. Simply because if the mother dies, that puts the baby at risk too and no need in possibly having 2 dead people. In cases where there is no major risk of anybody naturally dying during pregnancy, I am totally against even thinking of abortion. I’ve mentioned, I don’t compromise on this any more. Lamar Alexander is the incumbent running in the US Senate race and he approves of experimentation on babies, also known as embryonic stem cell research. He’s also OK with babies being murdered if “conceived via rape or incest”. That is considered a 100% Pro-Life view, but I disagree. No baby should be given the death penalty just because they were conceived in an act of rape or incest. It’s not the baby’s fault and the baby should not face being murdered, when they are not the one harming anyone.

There is a Libertarian named Daniel Towers Lewis running for US Senate here in Tennessee. I can’t vote Libertarian, because Libertarians are just too easy on what they call “victimless crimes”. Sorry, but I don’t want dope dealers, pimps, Johns and hookers feeling they can have free reign over my community. But I mention Daniel Towers Lewis, because he has a very interesting take to how the abortion issue should best be addressed. Please take a quick read of his viewpoint on the matter. Also, Mr. Lewis has a take on the issue of government’s role in marriage, that is worth reading. (If this guy ever gets off the Libertarian bandwagon and tightens up on law enforcement a bit, I might seriously consider voting for him.)

I am voting for everything below the US Senate level, just skipping President and US Senate races on the ballot.

For US Congress, I’m voting for Eduardo Bryan ‘Ed’ Choate, Senior. If you’ve been reading enough posts on this blog to surprise me, you remember I mentioned I was very close to voting for Mr. Choate when he ran for US Senate. I think over the past couple years, I’ve come a bit more in agreement with Choate and I’m a little less fond of candidates who push that “states rights” is acceptable when it comes to the issue of abortion. I still don’t agree with Mr. Choate on everything, but I am more in agreement with him now than in the past. See Eduardo Bryan ‘Ed’ Choate, Senior’s position on the issues here.

Since Ed Choate ran for the US Senate in 2006, I’ve had an opportunity to speak with him directly via phone. We were able to have a good conversation about our faith and our view of politics. I had no idea when I moved to the Chattanooga area, that I was moving into his US Congressional district, but we were able to get in touch with each other. Honestly, I’m not very against the incumbent Mr. Choate is running against, Zach Wamp. Wamp will probably win and I won’t be very disappointed by that. (From what I’ve found, Mr. Wamp is against abortion and against so-called embryonic stem cell research.) But Choate is an Independent Pro-lifer. He does not owe any political party anything. Choate realizes America’s currency has no backing and that’s not a good thing. He understands that the USA would do better to cut ties with globalization groups like the United Nations. Ed knows America should use its resources instead of pandering to junk science. Also, Ed knows illegal aliens should not be coddled or given amnesty. And before any of you cry that I’m somehow being “harsh” to people from Latin America, because I don’t care to give illegals amnesty (as someone already said to me today), you better take a look at Ed’s biography ;) .

You’re not the only one who’s made that decision.

Holy Cow IC, your even more a hardliner against Abortion then I am???

I have to say honestly, when it comes to rape or incest, I think the mother has suffered enough and should probably be given the right to choose what she wants in that case…

But I am not as dogmatic on that position as I used to be…

Sadly, even my position isn’t supported by many politicians..’

It’s hard being a Conservative these days when no one is holding to conservative positions…

    Take care

What about the baby’s potential suffering to death? Isn’t that far worse, than even if a mother carries a baby full term and then allows somebody else to raise the child?

I know a mother and child, a child who was conceived via rape. I’ve seen first hand it’s better to let the child live.

And regarding rape, killing a child won’t bring back what the woman lost, it won’t stop the person who committed the crime either. It’s literally murdering a totally innocent person because somebody else committed a crime. Now to me, that’s sick.

And with incest, nobody even tries to say much in defense of killing babies who were the product of 2 close family members willingly being in sin together. There’s talk of medical issues, but plenty of babies have medical issues. In the whole matter, the baby is the most innocent party of all, yet some people feel it’s good to kill the baby. That’s very sick.

Killing the babies does not do anything to make anything right, although they might have been conceived in a sinful act.

    Hi there Coyne1988,

Yes, I’m also familiar with Chuck Baldwin calling himself “Dr.” when he’s never earned such a degree. (The old claiming titles when it was only an honorary degree trick. The man is deceptive.) And his flirting with the already debunked 9/11 conspiracy theories, because he and Ron Paul are rather tight. He even was talking like Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson after 9/11. Chuck Baldwin also is one who is soft on so-called “victimless crimes”. He’s also against a Constitutional amendment on the issue of marriage. And while he’s against federal funding of so-called “embryonic stem cell research” (the use of babies as human guinea pigs), he’s OK with it remaining legal in the United States.

And guys such as Baldwin are fixated on a notion, that America was established as a “Christian nation”, which I can’t agree with any longer, given even the US Capitol building was given a Freemason dedication by our first President, George Washington. So guys like Baldwin are always pushing a sort of American-Christian-theocracy view, which they feel was the full intention of America’s founders. I find that viewpoint not only untrue to the full historical facts, but a little disturbing. They’re really promoting a form of dominionism.

Baldwin also is the pastor and “founder” of a church assembly in Florida. But now he wants to be President!!! This is something I’ve warned about previously and although I was speaking about Tom Watson, it’s the same way I feel about Baldwin. And I’ve said the same regarding Mike Huckabee. Any man that feels he’s to cut back time from the affairs of the House of God for political gain, is a man you’ll always see me running the other way from.

No I’m not voting for him.

I’ll be glad when this whole “process” is over. I have been inundated w/e-mails and text messages on all things Barack over the last two days (not to mention the robo-calls) and I am about to tear my hair out!

PA is one of the swing states, and lately, it seemed that both Obama and McCain have all but buy a house here because they were in the area so often. Sadder still are all of the reports of alleged voter supression, intimidation and other “irregularities” going on at spots here in PHL and across the country.

I am comforted knowing that God is at the helm and all of this is meaningless in His eyes.

bad news, i think Obama won…turn to CNN or FoxNews.

Barack Hussein Obama, Junior Is Our New President Elect. And How Should Christians Respond?

Whether God allowed him to assume power as a Pharaoh or a Nehemiah, we will soon find out. We have our speculations, but we’ll soon see how it plays out. We do know, God has a plan, that will work to an end that glorifies Him. Our President elect should strive to be like Nehemiah, not Pharaoh.

I’m personally not going to say much else about him, until he’s actually doing something that I feel should be responded to. We’ll have to pray as noted in the link above.
