See the post from over a year ago titled Colin Powell, He’s a Liberal After All…
And then you’ll wonder why this story is even a news headliner: Colin Powell backs Barack Obama.
For me, it’s like saying the sky is blue, Colin Powell is a Liberal. Sure he moved up the political ladder with the team that moved him up in their ranks, but he’s a Liberal. And Colin Powell should not be confused with those noted in the post titled So-called Black Conservatives Say, Nevermind All the Stuff Obama Promotes, That We Told You Was Bad All These Years, We’re Likely Voting for Obama, He’s Black You Know… They are just flat out hypocritical bigots. Colin Powell is a Liberal and he was a Liberal.

McCains lies, and underhanded, borderline racist ads & calls show the real man.

Who is “the real man”?
And what has McCain said that is racist? I’ve seen McCain do plenty (some documented in other posts on this blog) that is reason why I won’t vote for McCain or Obama, but the cries about “racist” things from McCain directly I’ve found to have zero merit.

I am disappointed in Colin Powell’s endorsement of Obama, but not surprised. He has been moving more a more to the left over the years. I found his reasoning weak and thin.

IC:
It really is bigger than the “liberal conservative” thing. It is all about the new world order which both parties and political movements are supporting. See, the paleoconservatives and the paleoliberals both oppose globalism, and both have been marginalized within their respective groups. But the neoconservatives and the neoliberals both not only support globalism, but support using coercive economic and military action to impose it.
I mean Powell, let us be honest, is a Nixon guy. (You know, the fellow who gave us our current China policy. Reagan and Bush abandoned Nixon’s plans for China to focus on the Soviet Union and Middle East, but you see that both Clinton and George W. Bush picked that ball right on up!) Powell even refers to himself as a “Rockefeller Republican.” And both candidates, McCain and Obama, are both brainwashing the public with globalist talking points just as much as Rick Warren is. McCain is “the guy who can work across party lines and bring people together to get things done.” Obama is “the citizen of the world who can bring together different races and groups.” No matter who wins - and trust me it really doesn’t matter, the only question is to who can make the biggest strike for globalism the fastest - opposing McCain or Obama will be depicted in terms of being divisive at a time when the country and nation doesn’t need it. The same “let’s all be united in one voice and stand together” nonsense that you see church folk use to defend their pulpit pimps and madams will be imported into a secular sphere where opposition to their policies will be seen not as merely ideological and philosophical but evil. I guess you can fairly say that it has happened already. People who opposed Clinton in the 1990s were simply racist and sexist. People who opposed Bush were simply anti - American, anti - capitalist, and even anti - Christian.
Now please realize that even if McCain wins, he will govern much further to the left (please realize that thanks to the “neos” the old political distinctions are quickly becoming meaningless, and the bailout proves it!) than a lot of conservatives and Republicans will be willing to admit, and he will have a huge Democratic majority as an excuse of how the GOP needs to diversify and broaden its tent (when you realize that McCain used to be a Goldwater wannabe as recently as the late 90s you realize how these people have their hooks in him and how totally sold out to them he has become). So conservatives who criticize McCain will be public enemy #1 in their own movement.
That is precisely why I think that McCain will ultimately pull it out. He will be a much more effective weapon against conservatives - and against Christians - than Obama. Obama can simply pick up the same ideas that Bush has been promoting and the GOP will call them globalist and liberal and oppose them. But if it is McCain supporting the Bush - Lieberman - Kennedy etc. agenda on things like global warming, amnesty, health care etc. the GOP in Congress and the talk radio people will basically fall in line and say “well, if Obama had gotten elected things would be even worse.”

And yes we know neither Obama or McCain are getting a vote from you or me. Powell’s endorsement could have gone either way, with the same ultimate outcome. However, Powell’s endorsement is simply another footnote in how Powell really has been more openly endorsing Leftist policies than many realized. And seriously, I think Powell may use it all as a means to possibly run for President himself. I think Powell turned down the Republican’s offer to run for President, because he really wanted to do the job with a brand that actually represents his views a bit more clearly. So I would not be surprised to see Colin Powell running as a Democrat for President. Just because Powell does not even want to give the appearance that he might really be something other than a globalist with a full Liberal view. Yes I think Powell might possibly continue playing a bigger role in all of this. Imagine Powell running as a Democrat? It dismantles all arguments against Democrats being soft militarily and nobody can say Powell does not have international experience. Powell as a Democrat running for President would be the perfect candidate, to advance the same agenda Obama and McCain support, but with even more cover. Powell would be the guy who turned to endorse Obama, which Liberals love and has the military experience and past Reagan ties, that would draw some Conservatives. I think if Colin Powell ran as a Democrat and could pull Nancy Reagan’s endorsement, look out, because the globalist agenda would have a big cover man, who would run it harder than many might expect.
Just as you mentioned McCain would be effective to promote a globalist agenda without much debate, Colin Powell may be able to pull it off too. And if Obama wins, of course he’ll advance it some, especially with his own political party also holding legislative power.
But we see, the potential future Presidential candidates, with names like Palin and Powell, will ensure the globalist agenda keeps going.
