Obviously the pulpit pimps are hoping they can get a cut of whatever old Freezer Burn was after.

Ministers back U.S. Rep. William Jefferson for Congress
|
Rather than being ambassadors for Christ in truth, pulpit pimps such as Paul Morton lie, hack, abuse, twist and mangle the Word of God. False teaching the heresy of Word of Faith and Prosperity doctrine. Even taking in other false teachers, who were already rebuked by other groups for their immoral behavior. So it’s no surprise that Paul Morton would find the most corrupt Black politician in his area and support him. Rather than tending to matters of the church, pimps like Morton and his compatriots run to cameras talking as if government is the solution and the only time they talk about Christ is in twisting the gospel for their own egos and bellies.
The article continues. (Yes, sadly there’s more to this article. Because Pulpit Pimps are never short for words.)
Morton said he believes Jefferson is innocent. But in a surprising nod to the contrary, the minister broached the prospect that a Virginia jury might find the congressman guilty of one or more of the 16 charges against him, a result that could force Jefferson to leave Congress before his term expires.
“If he wasn’t (innocent), I would at least rather go back and have a speical election than to put the person in who will mess up our state and the things we need for our state,” Morton said “We don’t have time to settle.”
OK, the bottom line here is RACE and WHO WILL CATER MOST TO PIMPS. Let me translate what Morton said, minus the media prepped sugar coating. And honestly, Black people and probably some White people too, know EXACTLY what Morton was actually saying. He’s saying he would rather the Black guy win and then there be another election where he might find another Black person who will do his bidding. If Jefferson goes to prison and I feel he’s guilty, especially since Morton feels Jefferson is innocent, Morton just figures he’ll find somebody else that will let pulpit pimps do their thing without treating them like Senator Charles Grassley. But if somebody Morton does not feel might cater to him wins, than that’s bad for HIS BUSINESS.
Notice the so-called pastors are not only playing politics, they’re endorsing the guy who is seen as dishonorable even to the people in HIS OWN POLITICAL PARTY.
And the article continues.
While most of the pastors focused on Jefferson’s strengths, the Rev. Tom Watson of Watson Memorial Teaching Ministries singled out Moreno. He accused her of “tricking” him during a 2005 interview about whether New Orleans police officers should be required to live in the city.
Watson said later that during that interview, he referred tangentially to an incident involving Jefferson Parish sheriff’s deputies. Without his knowledge, Watson said, Moreno solicited Lee’s reaction to Watson’s comment and refocused the story by pitting Watson and Lee against each other, rather than discussing the residency rule.
“She set the deal up for that late sheriff to cuss me out, cuss our preachers out,” he said. “You got a person who don’t know nothing about politics, don’t know nothing about working in our community. … She has sown seeds of discord.”
Now so-called “reverend” Tom Watson is a pulpit pimp. But let’s start with the title “reverend”, because there’s something about that which should be addressed. The term “reverend” obviously has a root in the term “revere”. But should men seek reverence for themselves in using a title not found in scripture such as “reverend”? I say absolutely not. We are to revere the Lord and the greatest of us is to be the servant, not the “reverend”. If someone holds regard for a person as a respected Bible teacher, that is up to them, but for a person of themselves to tell people they are the “reverend”, is simply an error of self pride. Like the error many engage in called “church tithing”, the error of using the handle “reverend” has become accepted as the norm, despite it really have no firm biblical foundation.
But the so-called “reverend” Tom Watson rambles on about Jefferson’s opponent, over words that did come from his mouth. Crying about “seeds of discord”. Well Mr. Watson won’t say a word about the discord that comes with things like bribery and corruption. And when it comes to corruption with money, Watson is a professional, because he’s a pulpit pimp. He lies about the Word of God and does it along with others in promoting the false prosperity doctrine. Teaching people to give to get in this life. And if I’m lying and he’s not doing such, why was false prophetess Juanita Bynum featured at his August 2008 “Supernatural Revival”? We all know she’s a queen of money pimping. He even made this large PDF flier promoting his pimping revival, for you to download. (If it’s ever removed from his site, let me know and I’ll post a copy here. But I see no point in wasting my blog’s bandwidth to post a copy now, when he’s so proud of it he makes exposing him easy. Better you see the flier directly from him as long as he keeps it posted on his web site.)
Also, Tom Watson is a man who would often rather manage the affairs of the politics of man than the House of God. I feel, if a man claims he’s to manage the affairs of the House of God, for him to later claim he should spend much time as a publican makes him double minded. Tom Watson is double minded and I feel it’s because he only does whatever gets him prestige and money. Just a couple years ago Tom Watson ran to be mayor of New Orleans. What figure of the church in scripture left or reduced time in ministry to become a publican? I’m not saying Christians can’t be in politics, I’m saying if a man claims he’s pastor of a flock, that should be his primary concern. For him to turn and run to be involved in the politics of men is to turn from duties managing the House of God, even if trying to pastor when not being a publican. The job of mayor is a full time job. So as I felt about Mike Huckabee, who is friends with pulpit pimps such as Kenneth Copeland, I feel the same about Tom Watson. When a pastor runs to be a politician, I advise you to RUN from that man. Because if the affairs of the House of God and the flock he claimed to be pastor of were what the man found to be most important, he’d run from anyone seeking to make him a publican. He would not intentionally seek a job that would encroach on time in ministry.
The article closes with the following.
Taking the podium at the Fine Arts Center, a former Central City movie theater turned banquet hall, Jefferson heaped thanks on the pastors who have stuck by him during the three years that he has been dogged by news of the FBI probe and indictment.
“There are days that will always burn in your memory, and this is such a day for me,” he said.
The incumbent also vowed to continue helping constituents access basic government services, such as Social Security benefits and medical care, while also delivering significant money for rebuilding levees, homes, hospitals and schools damaged by Hurricane Katrina.
Now Jefferson and his pimping buddies claim he’ll be able to do so much for his district. However, time spent in legal wrangling is time away from his job. He’s already radioactive to his fellow political party members, so it’s doubtful they’ll have much to do with him or anything he’s particularly interested in. Jefferson has only one political angle, he’s in New Orleans and Democrats have vowed to toss as much or more money to the area as Bush. But any politician representing that district would have the same angle to play and they’d be able to play it minus the baggage Jefferson carries with him. If/When Jefferson is locked up, the time with that taking place, the time to vote him out of Congress, which will be a national embarrassment and the time required to appoint a temporary fill in for him and then a special election will take TIME and MONEY away from the people he’s claiming he will help. If William Jefferson really wanted to help his district, he would not even have run for another term. And seeing who supports him only makes the whole thing even more pathetic.

This is a shame before God, IC. I thought the preacher was supposed to be a fool for Christ.
This gaggle of black clergy just cant seem to get it right. First, Kwame, then Oh,bummer, now this freezer burn fool.
Its tragic how the lust for money recognition makes these preachers grovel and debase themselves for every black crook politician that comes along.

Yea, you can say that again! Because they certainly are looking like somebody’s fool, but their actions don’t show honest devotion to Christ. They remind me of the ones Paul told Titus to rebuke in Titus 1:10-16, “They profess to know God, but by their deeds they deny Him, being detestable and disobedient and worthless for any good deed.”

As a Pastor do I stand with the NAACP. I always Preach JESUS from the pulpit, always have and always will. I’m not talking about supporting one canidate over the other. Please help a young Preacher out.
DL Foster reply on October 15th, 2008 at 11:12 am :
PPP, the positions and people the NAACP defends are not Godly positions but based primarily on race. The NAACP is a secular organization with secular goals that are not necessarily in congruence with the goals of the Kingdom of God. When and where do we draw the line of collusion with them?
For instance NAACP Chairman Julian Bond is a staunch advocate of homosexual marriage. He even defended a homosexual group in Richmond who were hooking up teen boys with grown men in clubs to show them how to put on a condom. Read the story.
Why didnt Paul Morton and all his preaching, sangin kind speak up and rebuke him and threaten to pull their support?
I am a black man too, but what’s more important my allegiance to God and his principles or to my race? That’s why I choose to be independent of these groups because the ministers in these groups fail to uphold the scripture.
The cases with Kwame and Jefferson are prime examples.
MLKJr said that we are to judge by the content of the character, not the color of the skin. They hold white people to that, but they themselves violate it seemingly without a thought.

Morton is supporting Jefferson because he is a trustee/deacon at Greater St. Stephens and helped them get whatever concessions they could from the State of Louisana. It’s amazing how these pastors sell out to the white power structure. We are facing the same thing in Maryland. There is a referendum on the November ballot for Slots, with one proposed to be placed in Baltimore City. While there have been several pastors that have taken the correct stance of NO to slots, several local megachurch pastors (Bishop Walter Thomas, Jamal Harrison Bryant among others) have been suspiciously silent. Frank Madison Reid, III, Pastor of the Bethel AME Church, which boasts a membership in the tens of thousands and influential in the black community, said in the Baltimore Sun that he was uncommitted to telling people how to vote on slots. These people that I named are all receiving some monetary compensation from the State, local government or private developers and have been compromised. Reid’s church receives a 10% donation (which values in the millions) from a local white developer who supports slots and is interested in bringing a casino to Baltimore. Walter Thomas was given a sweetheart deal from city government to the tune of several million dollars to move his congregation so that the city could use the land around the church for housing development. I think Jamal is still in England working on his degree from Oxford…LOL
