Check out the post by a pastor in Lakeland, Florida titled: Did I Sit On The Sidelines While The Playing Field Burned?. It is worthwhile reading.
I’m not going to hold it against the pastor, that he did not speak out openly and loudly as he should have by mandate from almighty God, Ezekiel 33, Ephesians 5:11, Romans 16:17 and 1 Timothy 1:3-5. But more of you pastors, PLEASE start speaking up openly about mess like this even while it’s going on.
Some of you spoke up openly, I thank you because I’m not a pastor you are, but too many of you pastors remained too quiet.
You and I both know there is a whole lot of mess still going on and I hope you warn saints about it openly and without reservation.

I completely agree!
Have you seen this? According to fellow false revivalist John Arnott, Todd Bentley has an alcohol problem

IndependentConservative reply on August 20th, 2008 at 6:40 pm :
Yea daughter, I just saw that today and mentioned it in another comment.
And see this video: TODD BENTLEY - LAST MEETING - THEY ALREADY KNEW
There’s another woman, booze, money and Rock & Roll. All you’d expect from a man with tattoos of things like Medusa on his body!

I do think that many pastors don’t want to be perceived as mud-slinging? Online, I’ve seen a “Gamaliel” approach but I understand but can leave people confused as to where they should stand on the issue.
I really hope that Todd Bentley will come to repentance, as well as those who have endorsed him.
IndependentConservative reply on August 20th, 2008 at 6:48 pm :
I find the Gamaliel (Acts 5) approach to be totally unacceptable. Because Gamaliel was an unbeliever who was seeking an end to the ministry of the gospel of the Lord Jesus. His suggestion had no foundation in scripture and he was not a man with the Holy Spirit indwelling. Christians are never told to forsake helping one another. God had Paul to make it very clear in 1 Corinthians 5:6.
Many were being partial to something THEY KNEW was no good. They’d have said more if it was a convicted child molester who served his full prison term moving into their community, than they did seeing evil draw in unwitting saints.
stan reply on August 20th, 2008 at 8:47 pm :
Thanks for reminding me about Gamaliel, Daughter.
The pastor of the local A/G (and my former church) said he was using the Gamaliel approach about Bentley, even though some of his people were going down to Florida to attend the Lakeland event.
My comment upon hearing that was that Gamaliel’s advice, which was respected by the rest of the Sanhedrin, was about not killing the apostles. Bam! I certainly do not know of any of his critics within the church, including myself, who were seeking to kill Todd Bentley. Bam Bam!!
So, in what sense was Gamaliel’s view appropriate about this mess? Gamaliel’s advice would have been better invoked during the Inquisitions.
No, the Gamaliel Precedent was a straw to grasp at to keep comfortable pastors comfortable. Its invocation certainly fooled many under their charge and made the approach seem oh-so-spiritual and Christian (baloney). I’d sure like to know how many pastors, who have taken the Gamaliel attitude, ever finally came against Lakeland. Even with the Bentley fall, saying anything against the revival may be just too tough for these Gamalielites ever to deal with it openly. It disgusts me.

It’s now found out that he is also a drunk.

With Todd Bentley’s name now on the decline, we’ll need new candidates for the NAR or celebrities like Rodney Howard Browne to commission as a new end times prophet. This will give pastors worldwide another golden opportunity to wring their hands while taking the “Gamaliel Attitude.”
Since the floor is open for nominations, I nominate this guy, John Crowder.
IndependentConservative reply on August 21st, 2008 at 12:32 pm :
Get whacked, stay whacked, never go back… Well, if this guy is the next one they “lay hands” on, it’s really going to get crazy. But I guess Onn-yung-yung is not much different than “BAM”.
Since the very day I first heard of the Gamaliel approach, I never understood why Christians would claim the assertion of an unbeliever. And as you noted Stan, the context they use it in is way off. It’s right in line with those who try and hack the “wheat and tares” parable, mistakenly acting like they are the angels Jesus holds back from gathering instead of being WHEAT.
stan reply on August 21st, 2008 at 1:20 pm :
Every one of these weirdos has to have a novel take on things or they won’t get invited anywhere, I guess. His is “Heavy Drunken glory;” and instead of angelic portals, Crowder bi-locates. It gives a brand new meaning to, “I wish I was in Dixie.”
I wonder if he appropriates 1 Cor. 6:4 In the name of our Lord Jesus, when you are assembled, and I with you in spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus, for a close precedent. Poor Paul: he only could manage being with the Corinthians “in spirit.”
If Paul had Crowder’s ability, he could have had only one of himself beheaded, then gone on to continue his ministry in his other self. Hosea, up in Heaven, must have been disappointed when that happened. Paul turned out to be just one of God’s people he spoke of who perished for lack of knowledge. (sigh.)
IndependentConservative reply on August 21st, 2008 at 1:49 pm :
Yea they all have to have a new twist on things, it’s what itching ears want!
I was thinking about 1 Corinthians 5:4 too. I’m sure they could hack that for some prooftexting, to make up all kinds of madness.
I also suppose, using their view, that Philip was split and one of himself went to see the Ethiopian in Acts 8:25-40 and the other was at Azotus the entire time
. Philip just didn’t have the “knowledge” to know
.
godlysoldier reply on August 21st, 2008 at 4:26 pm :
I don’t even have words to describe what I just witnessed in that Crowder video…all I can say is WOW! I thought I had seen and heard it all from these apostates…oy yoy yoy!
August 21st, 2008 at 2:03 pm
That’s right. It’s 1 Cor. 5:4, not 6:4. I must have had my mind on something I was thinking about.
Hey, IC. If you can get Crowder to disciple you (yechh!), you could run two blogs at the same time.
That reminds me: I’m out of eggs and rye bread; but I’m working right now. “Bilocate! Power On!”
stan reply on August 21st, 2008 at 2:18 pm :
Oops. above nested wrong.
Anyway, this is so funny. I just got this in my email today!
Now I know where Crowder got this bi-location power: High Tech!
IndependentConservative reply on August 21st, 2008 at 2:24 pm :
That’s pretty funny!
This blog would never have backlog if I could split myself.
That MS Word trick, is that specific to any particular version?
stan reply on August 21st, 2008 at 2:34 pm :
I don’t know whether the trick works in various versions of MS Word. It’s been quite a while since I’ve used it. I use Open Office (a Sun Microsystems free clone of Word.)

What Lakeland managed to export to Wales - The Wine Sign. The video says over 7 minutes long, but thankfully, it’s more like 5. Even that’s too long. But, it looks like they’re ready for Crowder and company.
IndependentConservative reply on August 21st, 2008 at 8:57 pm :
The delusion, is getting pretty strong…
And did you see what that guy was doing to that other man’s head
?
stan reply on August 21st, 2008 at 9:28 pm :
Yes, I did. I was grimacing, trying to figure out what that was all about. It was like watching really drunk frat guys after an all-night kegger.
I’ll tell you, this display of “drunken glory” is absolutely revolting. It is a gospel of sensuality and a different spirit of perversion. Are these people insane with stuff like this - Tokin’ the Ghost??!!
rascoe1 reply on August 22nd, 2008 at 11:49 am :
Perversion and mockery, thats what it is. The Enemy has stepped up his game. Useing whatever tactics he can, to take as many as he is able, with him to the LAKE OF FIRE.
There is a picture on IST site under the caption “So Todd Bentley Is a drunk”, that I have seen before and pondered on. The expression on his face, as well as in other pictures that I have seen of him, I have come to believe to be one of insincerity and mockery. For a while I thought he was delusional, a liar or possibly a combination of both. Now I am convinced that he had no delusions, he knew exactly what he is doing, being a liar and a fraud, “tool of satan”. Wanting to see how many “christians” would “buy what he is selling”, wickedness. He probably had a bet, as to how many “christians” he could deceive, and I am almost sure, if my assumption is correct, that he is believing that he has won the bet.
What Todd Bentley, John Crowder, the idiots on the “wine sign” video, Patricia King, Eddie Long, Creflo Dollar and others, forget is that The ELECT knows our Masters voice. Even if we loose our way, it will only be for a short time, as Jesus, through the works of the Holy Spirit, directs us back to Himself.
My brothers and sisters, it is truely a time of sifting, and the sieve is getting smaller and smaller. The liars are becoming bolder and bolder and their foolishness is even more ridiculous. They are not being subtle with their evil deeds any more. As the “body of christ”, becomes greedier and greedier for earthly wealth and prosperity, they have become easy pickings for the enemy and his minions.
May the Lord continue to strengthen His ELECT during this time. My brothers and sisters, may we all continue on the narrow path that leads to ETERNAL LIFE with our Lord and Master.
rascoe1 reply on August 22nd, 2008 at 12:05 pm :
Please let me clarify for those who may not know, new visitors to this blog. The Holy Spirit we speak of here is the SPIRIT OF THE LIVING GOD, who has no foolishness, rethorics nor darkness in Him. He is the Spirit of Truth, in Him Peace resides and there is no degree of confusion.
stan reply on August 22nd, 2008 at 1:13 pm :
Good point about the Spirit, Rascoe1. He has been directly associated with the shenanigans going on in churches such as falling down, vibrating, temporary pain relief, single-word messages, angel promotion, portals, visualized trips to the third heaven, carpet time, head-shaking, drunken behavior, (now) tokin’ on Him like He’s a drug substitute.
The number one work of the Spirit is to lead us away from our sins, flesh and the world system. That work agrees in perfect lock-step with the work of the Cross of Jesus Christ. Without our sins being gone, there is no room for the holiness and righteousness that will be required in the glorified citizens of the world to come. This is why those claiming prophecy, casting demons out and many mighty works will be denied, for as Jesus says about them that they are “workers of iniquity.” That means that the work of the cross never took place in them. That means that the gospel never found a home in their souls.
To present the Holy Spirit as the author of ecstatic sensual enjoyment is to grossly (pun intended) misrepresent His true work.
When you see sensual manifestations in someone’s ministry, sin lurks just beneath. Mark that.

I Think Most people who Study the Scriptures realized Bentleys Reign of Lies and Deceit wouldn’t last Long. Our Heavenly Father doesn’t Like those Things and always looks out for Our best..
