Well I was reading this post over at Hicktown Press and was about to comment. But you know, sometimes my comments get long and I end up having to make them into full posts here. Speaking Truth also has a post up. And you can read the full news article here.
Folks, Eddie Long is playing you. (And I say that as one who was a member at his spot for over 7 years. So I gave plenty of so-called “tithes”, bought his junk and all, to help fund these games he plays.) All I say in this post is my personal opinion, but don’t take my word for it!

If Eddie Long was giving this money out of a sincere heart, why is he speaking to the AJC about it? Why do we know he gave it? This is a man in the midst of a US SENATE INVESTIGATION. An investigation, that he has NOT been fully cooperative with and at times down right resistant. And a million from his PERSONAL INCOME goes to his old school. First of all, the fact he has a million to toss at anyone or anything shows where much money from all of BELL Ministries has been going, HIS POCKET. This is the same man who has flipped money through a supposed “charity” as a crafty means to put it in his own pocket. This is the same man who gets on TV and tells people to give him money or they’ll miss out on the “promised land”. And LOTS of people who go to Eddie Long’s church club for help get little or nothing and that at times is based on if they participated in the man made scam called “church tithing”.
This man has lied, scammed and conned in the Lord’s Name. Now he gives a million of the ill gotten gains away and I’m supposed to applaud him? Not a chance. How many criminals get pats on the back for swindling and then giving some of the money away? Eddie Long does it, but plays the game via twisting the Word of God.
I say Eddie Long is a false teaching con man, who is happy many are applauding his deed, because that’s exactly what he wanted. We’re not talking about some celebrity who does not claim the faith, but a man who claims church leadership, but tramples the truth of scripture.
Eddie Long has blown his trumpet for you. Don’t fall for it!

Eddie Long could stand on I-20 outside of his club and hand out $1,000 bills to every car that passes by from sun up to sun down. He’d still be a pimp BECAUSE HE STILL SHAKES DOWN THE SHEEP!
Did you see the video I posted of him “exhorting” his members to tithe? That’s Pimping 101, brother! He’s got his hustle on lockdown - and he’s daring the clumsy wannabe’s to step up their pimp game, or he’ll pull their…um…workers too!.
You know Eddie and his ilk don’t convert many sinners - they just pull workers from other hustler’s clubs and tickle their ears a little more than the former pimp.
This reminds me of the pimps who handed out turkeys and toys in my old neighborhood in Chicago. Sure they’d knock a few ladies in the head every night and sling a little dope as well as pull young girls off of Greyhound buses and putting them on the stroll.
But hey, they’re really good guys because they toss around frozen birds and cheap toys once a year, right?

Here is my quick truth.look I was a FOOL back in 1999 I got all these tapes by the Bishop talking about the lights are gonna go out and get your money out and he did not have New Year’s Eve service for that reason. I had a friend named Ray who wore that jacket too and he was like Bishop aint lying watch and see..how bout 2000 came from Australia to America-not a glitch. May I get a refund for the series. I wish I could find that series. It was a yellow/cream colored series. REFUND, please.

(And let me tell you, if it was about getting money back from that pimp, I’m sure he got more of mine than yours. So I can say I’m sure I’ve got more to be bitter about if I wanted to be bitter and request refunds
. I consider it money spent on a lesson learned to the glory of God, which is, avoid pimps like Eddie Lee Long!)
I was there, in the seats, looking at Eddie Long before, during and after 1999 & 2000. Yea, his “the sky is falling” hollering about Y2K should have been enough for me see he was not a man to be near, but it was not till years later that the Lord opened my eyes to flee. Let’s just say, I didn’t need to buy any water or canned goods for a good while into early 2000. Yea, some people did look at my kitchen pantry with a strange look, when they saw all the mess I had stocked up. And honestly, I didn’t even stock up as much as some others I knew.
I didn’t make any rash moves with money at that time, other than my continual falling for his 10% and other scams. (But I didn’t go liquidate all my funds or anything.) I did have a bit more cash on hand than usual though.
I remember sitting at home midnight of Jan. 1, 2000 (because it’s true, he did not have a Y2K watch night service) and just waiting for something to happen, like the lights to go out. And nothing happen…

OK IC. Thanks for the “gentle rebuke” regarding the Eddie Long NCCU story. I’ve updated the article and included the NC newspaper’s account of the story (which had much more info than the AJC).
All in all, Eddie is still a pimp who should be avoided, but in this case his hands are (apparently and alledgedly) clean.
