Our Brother KyleNYC Needs Your Prayers

by @ 2:44 pm. Filed under Other

I received a message today from the wife of KyleNYC, he often comments here. His wife informed me that he has been in the hospital for over a week, after having a cancerous tumor removed. He specifically requested that WE PRAY FOR HIM.

Given he works in the financial market, he has a related blog that he runs here. And so you see his full name there.

Please keep Kyle Yancy in your prayers.

  1. DL Foster Says:

    I am just now reading this. Pray all is well with Kyle as his life and health is in the hands of the Master. He is a good cyber-friend and brother in the Lord.

  2. stan Says:

    God bless him and restore him to his family and job. I hope he calls for the elders of his church.

  3. IndependentConservative Says:

    In my private talks with him, he was still searching for a good local church home. (I don’t think he minds me saying that here.)

    He listens to sermons of a pastor he does trust, that is not in his area. I know of that pastor and he is a good man, but I doubt Kyle could reach him personally and Kyle is not a member that pastor’s local church group.

    It may be up to us to stand in the gap and do what we can remembering him in our prayers. I’m sure he’s praying himself as well.

    If two good elders like you Stan and Pastor Foster are praying for him, he’s got 2 good elders praying for him at least.

  4. rascoe1 Says:

    I too will be praying for Brother KyleNYC. May the peace of God be with him and his family during this trying time.

  5. SteelGator Says:

    I will keep you in my prayers Brother. The Lord’s will be done.

  6. SteelGator Says:

    IC: If he or his family need any help (other than prayers) just let me know.

  7. stan Says:

    Ditto what Steelgator said, IC. Just email me if you feel he could use anything. I’d be glad to help.

  8. IndependentConservative Says:

    Kyle is out of the hospital and back home. To God be the glory, through Christ Jesus!

  9. KyleNYC Says:

    Hi guys,

    Quick update: released out of the hospital last Friday. They took out my appendix (tumorous and malignant) and 10-12 inches of my ascending colong (aka, large intestine).

    That’s the good news.

    The bad news is I *may* have to undergo MONTHS of chemo and then radiation, which I DONT’ want to do. So, please pray that my follow up visits come up negative for any spread of the cancer (the appendix was perforated and spewing toxins like a coal plant burning whale blubber and baby seals. There! That should set the left off!!!)

    Seriously, please keep me in prayer because as stressful as this situation is (oh, my wife lost her job last month), the magnificent peace of Christ has filled my life.

    Please, please, please read the following:

    I shall not die, but I shall live,
    and recount the deeds of the Lord.

    The Lord has disciplined me severely,
    but he has not given me over to death.

    Open to me the gates of righteousness,
    that I may enter through them
    and give thanks to the Lord.

    This is the gate of the Lord;
    the righteous shall enter through it.

    I thank you that you have answered me
    and have become my salvation.

    The stone that the builders rejected
    has become the cornerstone.

    This is the Lord’s doing;
    it is marvelous in our eyes.

    This is the day that the Lord has made;
    let us rejoice and be glad in it.

    Ps 118:17-24

    And then this, which I am not ashamed to say broke me down to tears:

    “Behold, in this you are not right. I will answer you,
    for God is greater than man.

    Why do you contend against him,
    saying, ‘He will answer none of man’s words’?

    For God speaks in one way,
    and in two, though man does not perceive it.

    In a dream, in a vision of the night,
    when deep sleep falls on men,
    while they slumber on their beds,

    then he opens the ears of men
    and terrifies them with warnings,

    that he may turn man aside from his deed
    and conceal pride from a man;

    he keeps back his soul from the pit,
    his life from perishing by the sword.

    “Man is also rebuked with pain on his bed
    and with continual strife in his bones,

    so that his life loathes bread,
    and his appetite the choicest food.

    His flesh is so wasted away that it cannot be seen,
    and his bones that were not seen stick out.

    His soul draws near the pit,
    and his life to those who bring death.

    If there be for him an angel,
    a mediator, one of the thousand,
    to declare to man what is right for him,

    and he is merciful to him, and says,
    ‘Deliver him from going down into the pit;
    I have found a ransom;

    let his flesh become fresh with youth;
    let him return to the days of his youthful vigor’;

    then man [fn3] prays to God, and he accepts him;
    he sees his face with a shout of joy,
    and he restores to man his righteousness.

    He sings before men and says:
    ‘I sinned and perverted what was right,
    and it was not repaid to me.

    He has redeemed my soul from going down into the pit,
    and my life shall look upon the light.’

    “Behold, God does all these things,
    twice, three times, with a man,

    to bring back his soul from the pit,
    that he may be lighted with the light of life.

    Thank you SteelGator and stan, I appreciate the offer, but just keep on prayin’. Where God guides, GOD PROVIDES!!!

  10. stan Says:

    Oh, wow, Kyle. Those two passages have been a huge part of my meditations recently. Both of them.

    It is good to hear you’re home. May the Lord see fit to spare you the chemo and radiation.

    Ask IC for my email, if I can help out. That’s what we’re all here for.

  11. anointedvesselAKAKenya Says:

    I am praying for you even now my brother for your swift recovery and complete healing, physically, emotionally and spiritually. Whatever you need I stand with you now in agreement and count it done in Jesus name. I pray that God supplies all your needs according to his riches in glory and gives your wife and you peace that passes all understanding. God is the chief physician and he is the creator of all things. He is the manufacturer of the machine that is your body which houses your spirit and soul, your body is still under warranty and I standing with you in faith as you present your warranty papers back to the manufacturer ( God) and ask him to repair whatever it is that needs to be repaired. It is already done, I speak it and believe it. By faith you are healed. And yes you SHALL live and NOT die!!!! I am standing on God’s promise with you and your wife. We all are!!!

  12. rascoe1 Says:

    My Brother Kyle, I thank the Lord that your surgery was a success. Continue holding on to the Mighty hand of our Lord Jesus Christ, in Him is your strength to endure. May Gods’ PERFECT WILL continue to be done in your life and the life of your family. As his WILL is accomplished, may HIS PEACE continually rest in your home. I trust the Lord, my brother, that during this time all your relationships (with Him, your wife, your children your family and friends), will grow stronger. I pray, that you will never be discourage, because your HOPE is in the LORD. I too will be praying for you.

  13. KyleNYC Says:

    stan, rascoe1 and Kenya,

    Thank you all. Just keep prayin’ for me.

    Jesus Is Lord and His will be done.

    When this is over with I’ll tell you some very interesting stories about how we take walking and going to the bathroom for granted.

    I’m sorry, was that too much information? 🙂

  14. IndependentConservative Says:

    Well it was less than when Bezel333 showed a picture of himself after hernia surgery. I really felt that was TOO MUCH. Surgery scars are not something I want to see. I mean if you guys want to boast in your weakness, save the scare photos for somebody else 😀 .

  15. IndependentConservative Says:

    I speak of boasting in weakness in the 2 Corinthians 11 sense 😉 .

  16. SteelGator Says:

    I will keep praying for you and your family.

  17. stan Says:

    There is an appropriate verse in Psalm 118. Verse 7 reads, “The Lord is on my side and takes my part, He is among those who help me; therefore shall I see my desire established upon those who hate me.

    In this case, “those who help me,” are the medical staff that treats us when we are sick.

    We should always pray that the Lord is among our helpers in life; whether doctors, governmental ministers, employees, servants in the Body of Christ, or anywhere or anytime you are being served in some capacity in life.

    We believers must always find occasion to render thanksgiving to God in life. It is one of our spiritual, priestly duties as His people. Seeing Him among those who help us every day is an excellent way to render such praise.
