I don't know, maybe Carlton the Heretic will grace Atlanta with his presence more permanently...

It's all about the money and keeping the family business afloat. The membership has declined from about 12,000 in its heyday (1991-1992) until recently less than 200 because of scandals and news coverage and Earl Jr's felony conviction of perjury. It ceased to be a church or a Christian organization years ago when Earl Jr. began preaching his Kingdom Now Theology (early 1980s), which was nothing more than warmed over heretical doctrine of ages past. Same goes for this Eckhart Tolle and Carlton Pearson nonsense. It has appeal to younger generations and it gives Donnie Earl an opportunity to bring in new people and more contributions. But I wouldn't call it a church. It is sad that people can't see it for what it really is, just a way to continue the family business so that none of the Paulks have to worry about finding a real job. They get to live off the cash donations to the collection plate. And they're looking for some gullible folks to give them a shopping spree to Neiman Marcus while the rest of us have to shop at Wal Mart.

IC, I would be willing to bet that Paulk is "transitioning" to attract a broader type of clientele to his club. Especially those with money who have a form of godliness. They make perfect clubmembers!
