I read it some years ago, borrowed from my pastor. One of the things I remember most on reading that book is that he said his first experience was with a deacon at his church, someone he looked up to and who seduced him. I remember doing the same thing back in my day (thank GOD I stopped that). I have seen too many services conclude with money and all manner of checks and jewelry left on the platform (altars are not of this day) just to see them collected and given to the speaker, with a cut likely given to the pastor should the speaker be a guest. I did all that I did (tithes, offerings, "served" in the church, attend all conferences, classes, seminars, traveled, etc., etc., etc.) out of sincerity of serving God. It was at this time that I was being fleeced for all that I had (money, time, talent, dignity, respect), all in the name of "serving man as unto God." Thank Him for your eyes being open. I remember a "Mand of Gawd", coming to my former church and that was a big part of his message. His thing was, if the message is good and you feel it, just get up at any time during the service and cast your money and anything of value you have, at the feet of whoever is bringing the message. He got a lot of money that day. I even remember once removing the gold bracelet from my wrist and casting it on the alter. I feel so foolish looking back at the many stupid things that I did because I really love the Lord and wanted to please him it was'ent about pleasing the pastors. I wanted to please God and I wanted to believe that these people who we look up to as leaders of the body are people of integrity. I never found the need to replace that bracelet.
