Rascoe1, I’m writing in response to your post where you mentioned that no sin is greater than the other. Well I don’t totally agree with you.In Matt.12v31-32, Christ says,”Every blasphemy will be forgiven but the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.” So some sins are indeed weightier than others.
Again, the Bible in 1corr.6v18-19 says,”Flee from sexual immorality.All other sins a man commits are outside the body but sexual sin is against his own body.” Reason being that the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. From this scripture you can see that God treasures our bodies because that’s His true abode. You can then imagine how God feels when one lapses deep down into homosexuality.God calls this perversion and such that practice this act are reprobate or depraved and await God’s judgement(Romans 1v18-32. God dislikes sin but detests homosexuality(Lev.18v22).Think of it, the angels’ anger burned more when the men of Sodom and Gomorrah wanted to forcefully have sex with them (Gen.19v5).
Don’t get me wrong.Sin is sin, but we have to know that there are categories that are weightier. May God give you words of wisdom to use in ministering to your brother and may the good Lord deliver him.

Rascoe1,yes,love your brother that is scripturally correct.Love him enough to speak the Truth in love-his eternity depends on it.It is your job to spread the gospel,it is the Lord’s job to unveil his eyes.The Lord will respond to the very intent of your brother’s heart.Eternity is less than a breath away;time may not permit you to see him then tell him Truth.The devil is not bashful so we can’t be either.The is one of the most powerful demonic forces on this earth:homosexuality.You absolutely must have quiet time with God so that He can begin to give you strategies of how to snatch your brother out of the gates of hell.This will cast the fear out of you and you will be able to interact with him with boldness and love.As you spend time with the Lord,sharing your very heart and things you’re unable to say to anyone else you’ll see the urgency we’re faced with.You’ll continue to “shoot the breeze” by email but the Lord Himself will inject a few words here and there that are able to penetrate your brothers heart and begin to awaken him to what’s right/wrong.Don’t be afraid if the devil retaliates and send you false spirits of guilt or even rejection from your brother-eternity is a long,long time and you want to face God knowing you did what He requires us to do;I have several siblings are hell bound but I dare not try to keep a brother/sister while carelessly losing a soul.I love and accept them as they are and becuase I love them,the Lord makes time to interject his pure word with no judgment.In the fight with ya! It looks like Jakes is planning a trip to South Africa to pimp the locals in October – I guess he’ll have to tape a few shows before he leaves…

If it was Jakes’ table, then it was a table of reprobates already. Seriously, I see no difference between what Jakes does and homosexuality. If anything, what Jakes, Crouch, Hagin, Hinn, Copeland, Graham, Robertson, Schuller, Warren, McManus, McLaren, Dobson, etc. are doing is an even bigger abomination than is homosexuality.

I do need to clarify my remarks re the above. I was not referring to TD Jakes specifically as “the black Ted Haggard”, I meant to use it in a general sense although I can understand why that parallel, given what is traspiring in his theology can be drawn. I am still disturbed at his calling Soulforce personally to thank them for coming to the PH. Was that really necessary? Why is he making a special effort to connect with people who despise what he is allegedly teaching? Did you know that the PH has a policy against taking pictures or video in the sanctuary, but Soulforce took pictures of themselves in the sanctuary and posted them on the web? They get an effusing thanks for violating “policy”? What is really going on with the mega mess?

IC, thanks for helping to sound the alarm of TD Jakes. I am still astonished that there has been no voice of opposition from any of the Word Network mega preachers. Its very telling about what they will and will not speak out about. A friend of mine in Dallas who used to be a member of PH said that they are watching each other’s backs.

Perhaps soon God will allow the black Ted Haggard to be exposed.

God does not tolerate any sin, although some sin is in the category of being explicitly hated and abominations, not all sin falls in that category and not all sin resulted in death by stoning under Mosaic Law. And even now some sin can make one "worse" than an unbeliever as noted in 1 Timothy 5:8. Still nobody can measure up to God's perfect standard of no sin, only Jesus could and that's why we need Him. That's something I detail and the reasons why in this old post: Creflo Says, He Don’t Need No Stinkin’ Outside Christian Oversight!
