Habitat for Dead Babies

by @ 1:29 pm. Filed under Nuts on Parade

Well the opposition to the project that is mentioned in this article (as voiced by Roman Catholic American Life League VP Jim Sedlak) explains it pretty good. (And you know I never promote Roman Catholicism, but Mr. Sedlak is right.)

Christian Ministry Criticized for Planned Parenthood Partnership

The nation?s largest Christian ministry dedicated to housing the poor has drawn criticism from pro-life groups recently over its joint partnership with the nation?s largest provider of surgical abortions.

In an agreement with Planned Parenthood, Habitat for Humanity is allowing the group to bypass zoning regulations in Sarasota, Fla., that restrict the opening of abortion facilities ?without the presence of a multifamily liner building.?

According to a statement released earlier this month by the Sarasota City Commission, Habitat for Humanity will reportedly facilitate the opening of Planned Parenthood in the area through a $10 real estate purchase from the group.

“We are excited to have Habitat be a part of the Planned Parenthood team,? a Planned Parenthood representative reportedly said after the agreement.

Jim Sedlak, vice-president of the American Life League, in response, blasted the move by Habitat for Humanity.

?Habitat for Humanity, which claims to be a Christian ministry, says that this was only a real estate transaction. However, Planned Parenthood could not open its abortion facility without Habitat?s help,? he explained in a statement.

Sedlack added that it was shameful for an organization like Habitat for Humanity to partner with a group that so obviously contradicted its goals of providing a ?simple, decent, affordable place to live in dignity and safety? for everyone.

?I don?t see how building a residence next to an organization that kills babies, pushes pornography and covers up for rapists gives a family dignity or safety. We are calling on everyone to contact Habitat for Humanity and demand they break this agreement,? he said.

Found in 1976 as a Christian non-profit and non-governmental organization by Millard and Linda Fuller in Americus, Ga., Habitat for Humanity has built over 200,000 homes in its cause to provide housing for the needy.

(Hat tip Pastor DL Foster. Who blogs at GCM Watch.)

Having lived in Atlanta, I found Habitat for Humanity was approving of some things that I find less than Christian. But this is the lowest I’ve seen yet. If your church wants someone to have a home, do you really need to team up with people who are helping baby killers?

Does 2 Corinthians 6 mean anything to Habitat for Humanity (HFH)? If it means anything to the churches that HFH calls on for support, they’ll tell HFH it’s time they commit to righteousness, or never call again. Churches need to know without any doubt, that HFH will ALWAYS refuse to work with baby killing enemies of God. The bar should be even higher than that, but at least churches should see this and realize it’s time to stop supporting a group just because they do certain “good works” and say they do it in the Lord’s name.

This is nothing but a money deal and there is innocent blood that will be on some hands, that God will require an accounting for.

Lord help us!

Sad…..and I grew up in Sarasota….My parents still live there and I got them burning up the phone lines as I write.

  2. DL Foster Says:

This is lower than a snake’s belly and equally despicable. Build a house, help kill a baby??

Dear God, the madness of this age is astonishing.

    Even so, come Lord Jesus.

Isn’t this the same group that built homes with the help of Former President Jimmy Carter?

If so, has he come out against such a thing as reported by you in this article?

    Vaughn,

    Yes this is the group.

Why would you expect Jimmy Carter to come out STRONG against mass murder of babies, when he’s been so approving of so many Liberals that endorse it? When he’s locked arms with many of the world’s greatest terrorist sponsors and brutal dictators. Even approving their bogus elections in some cases.

I think you should read this article that notes the very checkered history of Jimmy Carter on the issue of abortion. (Jimmy does the same mixing of faith and politics that Bush does, so it’s comical to watch him point fingers. Jimmy was the precursor to what is done in politics today. He played off Christians to win a Presidential election too, so he’s got no room to criticize.) That article also mentions Carter’s ties to homosexual groups. And I think if more Christians did a deep enough study of HFH, they might find that HFH locks arms with homosexuals too. For example, check this out: Log Cabin Republicans is teaming with Habitat for Humanity to raise the roof during Gay Days Weekend.

That is why I said in my post above, that I’ve seen HFH teaming with other things that are less than Christian and I said “The bar should be even higher than that” regarding HFH. I meant higher than simply holding them to account on the issue of abortion group relations, given they have ties to other sinful groups like homosexuals.

These are things I didn’t detail in the post, but the bottom line is this. HFH is a far Left organization. Honestly, when Pastor Foster contacted me about this, I told him I was surprised HFH stills considers themselves to be a Christian group these days, because I’ve seen them tied up with too many of the wrong people.

Must say that I’m in agreement with your response, especially when he was reported to be such a Sunday School teacher from back in the day, did listen to the news occasionally in my youth.
How can two walk together, unless they be in agreement?, comes to mind, sad to say while posting b/4 I check out the sites that you’ve recommended!
