<a href="http://youtube.com/watch?v=MFWFmpwk2QU" rel="nofollow">Here is a new video the guy in the first video above has made.</a>

He basically details the techniques a group like FOTM used to get him thinking they were OK. Techniques used by a lot of groups that draw people into error.

I agree with you there IC, I will keep them in my prayers. I still find it amaizing how easily we as human can fall. These two men probably started out in the truth, but absolute power and the lust of the flesh got to them. That's why we should daily fight against the spirit of pride that is in all of us, it makes us puffed up and exault ourselves above God, and His truth.

<blockquote>
I suppose they use a little truth to get people in, then spew false doctrine.</blockquote>

That's exactly how it's done.

I can't believe I used to fall for some of the junk I used to fall for and pray not to be duped by more. If someone asked me how I used to fall for it, I really can't explain. I can't well explain it to myself other than the fact I was focused on the wrong things and not sticking well in the Word myself.

I mean you saw some of their material that looked OK to you. So if someone was sending you FOTM material you might check it out for a while. From there, how long you might embrace it depends on how well the Lord has willed you to have good discernment.

I praise God through Jesus Christ things did get uncomfortable for them, that they did start seeing something was wrong. I do believe it probably is harder to walk away from a group once you've literally invested all you have in them.

The folks disassociating from FOTM are not coming out of something good, so the stories are not pretty and they'll need our prayers.

All I know is that the Lord called them out of it, they left and I'm happy about that.

For many years, I thought Ole Anthony was a man teaching nothing but truth, but <a href="http://www.independentconservative.com/2007/10/15/trinity_foundation_cult/" rel="nofollow">then I learned he's running a cult too.</a>

Usually people will embrace the truth and figure once they see some bad that it's "not that bad" or make excuses for it. In time the building up of relationships often causes people to care more about the relationship with those people rather than standing on the truth. Often the lie looks so good it's accepted as truth.

It's sort of like the frog in the slowly boiling pot of water. We can only pray God's Holy Spirit will move us to JUMP and not die like a boiled frog in error.

It really shows why no matter who the teacher is, we must continually check their teaching against scripture ourselves with the Holy Spirit guiding us.

I listened to the videos, then checked out the sites, I had never heard of them before. I listened to a little of what Chris Evans said about the church hierarchy, what he said, I agree with. I suppose they use a little truth to get people in, then spew false doctrine. If what the witnesses said are true, how could they believe these men when they are openly preaching false doctrine, and living lives that are contrary to the the Word of God? There are somethings in the Word that are not easily understood, but God's view on marriage is not one. I am a little uncomfortable about the third video, from Claire. She obviously had a prominent position in this body and stayed with them and their teachings for a period of time in spite of what they were doing and preaching. My question is, would she have spoken out had things not turned sour for her? We do it all the time, as people we compromise the truth until the seat get too hot for us, and THEN we speak out or walk away.
