   Yes! Good preaching. John Coleman is a good guy - a rare commodity these days.

   “A church with 50-60 people, maybe a real church.” Yes again.

   After I had left my church, I told my elder friend who was still there that what the church needed to do was not to grow it, as they were seeking, but to downsize it — by telling the truth!

   I know very well if they stopped tolerating the error that was being brought in and promoted by many, and faced it square in the face without backing down, like real men of God, that many in the congregation would leave in a huff. Leaving maybe 50 people. But, can those few pay for their large facility and the salaries that the pastor and workers depend on? And pay for the current expansion they have in mind? Nope.

   So, pastors today can’t tell the whole truth because they have fear. fear of losing all that cash and therefore, they have fear of man. The fear of man brings a snare: but whoso puts his trust in the LORD shall be safe. (prov. 29:25)

   The rich know down deep that they’re getting away with their sins and they have no fear of being exposed in a church that they are a big supporter of. Hireling pastors love to have it that way. Even otherwise decent pastors are caught up in the need to support expensive church facilities and large payrolls and they compromise accordingly. Prov. 25:26 says “Like a trampled spring and a polluted well is a righteous man who gives way before the wicked.” So, their ministries become polluted wells of water that no one can drink from without being made spiritually sick. All from the compromises that the pursuit of money can create.

   Telling the truth ain’t gonna happen in any church - not as long as Mammon has such a foothold in them.

   We need more John Colemans.
