This is just a, no way I’m voting for Bob Barr post. I would never vote for him when I lived in GA and no way I’ll vote for him to be President either.
I didn’t like him before he started working for the ACLU and I certainly didn’t take to liking him more once he got on their payroll. I liked him even less when he tried to bump John Linder from his congressional seat. So I’ve got a long history of being AGAINST Robert Laurence Barr, Junior. Now he’s running as a Libertarian for President and favored to win their party nomination. I guess that means I can rule out the Libertarian party candidate this election cycle.
And while the Clinton sex scandal had its merit, Bob Barr really over did the thing. It was like once it started, that’s all he could get in front of a camera to talk about. While there was the hypocritical silence over Republican misdeeds. I can’t recall him calling out Newt Gingrich’s many affairs. Still the Clinton matter had its merits, Clinton lied under oath and was a hot mess, but Barr really would grate the nerves with his obsession on the matter. Really the end result was, Clinton stayed in office and incidents of teenage oral sex went up because so many kids learned about it thanks to the investigation report. Bob Barr was playing right into the media circus.
And then there are other reasons to be against old Bob.
Security Guards Claim Barr Yelled Racial Slurs

And I remember when that happened. He (allegedly) said a whole lot more than that! There were multiple witnesses with no reason to call attention to themselves by making anything up. I believe them. If on nothing but Deuteronomy 19:15 grounds alone.
And even before that, Barr had a history of being temperamental with airport workers.
The Georgia Republican Who Uses the I-Word

Not exactly calm and respectful of security. Seems pretty focused on himself. Not the kind of guy I want heading the executive branch of our government.
I could name other reasons, but I’ll stop there. Just noting he’s not getting my vote. To anyone who is a Libertarian participating in their nominating process, I say VOTE FOR THE OTHER PERSON, ANY OTHER PERSON PLEASE.

He is crazy….He has gone off the reservation. If dirty old minded Neal Boortz is foaming at the mouth over you, you are either a prosecute or a libertarian nut job.
IndependentConservative reply on May 16th, 2008 at 2:56 pm :
Boortz’s beef with Barr is because John Linder is the congressman who initiated the Fair Tax effort before Boortz had ever heard of it. Barr tried to take Linder’s congressional seat in a Republican Primary. Me and others in GA’s 7th congressional district at that time sent Barr home with his tail between his legs. (Given Independents can vote in any Party Primary in GA.)
SteelGator reply on May 16th, 2008 at 4:28 pm :
Good for you….Glad you kept Linder. However, Boortz loves Barr now.
IndependentConservative reply on May 16th, 2008 at 4:37 pm :
Really? (Shows you how much I listen to his show these days
.)
Well then I guess it’s Libertarian Party allegiance.
SteelGator reply on May 16th, 2008 at 4:55 pm :
Oh yeah….Boortz and his puppet (Royal) both love Barr. Barr must be going out to strip clubs with Boortz and african american side kick.
IndependentConservative reply on May 16th, 2008 at 5:13 pm :
If Royal were White would you have called him a White side-kick?
speakingtruth reply on May 16th, 2008 at 9:23 pm :
Alright, I don’t even know if I want to get in the middle of this, but since I usually have Boortz’s show on in the background to make my workday go faster, I thought I’d jump in…
Boortz has had it in for Barr before the Linder race – he and Barr debated about the legalization of marijuana and Boortz called Barr an “ignorant slut” (ala Saturday Night Live circa 1975). Now Barr thinks that he can cozy up to Boortz because he’s a “Libertarian” – whatever…they both deserve each other.
As for Royal, I disagree Steelgator. Royal is pretty fair-minded, and he doesn’t carry Boortz’s water. In fact, Royal and Neal go head-2-head about the issues.
At the end of the day, both are political “conservatives” but social/moral liberals, so they’re both on the wrong-side of the Word of God.

Since Barr is on his third wife, that is at least 3 votes for him that are in the bag. And as for Steelgator … he and I have locked horns on race issues in the past, but in this instance I think that Gator was calling Royal Marshall a sellout.
IndependentConservative reply on May 16th, 2008 at 9:31 pm :
I’ll have to hear from SG if he’s making a “sellout” charge. Of course when such a charge is made, my next question is always “sellout to what”? If such a charge is being made I’d need to know exactly what standard Royal previously established for himself that he’s somehow betrayed.
I suspect SG knows nothing about the old “Royal Treatment” radio program and probably never heard a single night of it. I heard several and from prior web sites know a little more about Royal than is heard in the AM.
Everyone working Boortz’s program with him (Royal and Belinda) can be considered “side kicks” but I wonder if/why Royal’s ancestry would make any difference.

Well, yeah, I used to listen to that Royal Treatment trash. So you are right, Royal’s race is irrelevant in this context (and in most any context).
