Exposing (false and homosexual) Christians who hold a public line against homosexuality as hypocrites (and also by making it appear that opposing homosexuality is a marginal anachronism that no one REALLY supports anymore anyway) 2. They know that when people realize that their favorite preacher/author/singer is homosexual, they will justify it and continue following them anyway. Sadly, we know this from how Christians have been doing the same regarding sex scandals involving HETEROSEXUAL false preachers for decades, at least since the Aimee Semple McPherson scandals in the 1940s. I was once very angry at that Robert DuVall Farrah Fawcett movie "The Apostle", thinking that it made Christians look bad like typical liberal Hollywood, but it was actually more real than a lot of Christians like to admit.
