That figures………why be logically or Biblically consistent?? NAH. It’s politics.

Fact is, NONE of the breakthroughs have come from embryonic stem cells. So why the push to kill embryos??

GaryV, do you get the impression he’s afraid to die?

    Hey guys:

I know this is SORTA off topic.

(Edited by Independent Conservative: Rest of comment removed. Yea that’s way sorta off topic. How about putting it in this post about Manning?)

  3. SteelGator Says:

IC: That is what McCain has said in the past, but according the Sen. Brownback, McCain is reconsidering his position in light of new scientific research.

Right now, I would agree that McCain supports federal funding of embryonic stem cells. However, it looks like he is reconsidering and if Christians can give him wise counsel on this and we pray for him, he might change his position on this.

We know Hillary and Obama are for “fetal farming” and killing as many unborn babies as possible.

At least, McCain is willing to listen and we must pray that God changes his heart and mind.

NANCY REAGAN, MCCAIN AND STEM CELLS (Posted: Tuesday, March 25, 2008 3:08 PM)

    From NBC’s Chris Donovan
In light of today’s news of Nancy Reagan’s endorsement of McCain — the two will appear together this afternoon, the campaign said — McCain has credited Nancy Reagan, in part, for his change in position on federal funding for stem cell research. He explained her impact on Meet the Press in 2005, and reiterated his support at the MSNBC presidential debate (with Nancy Reagan present) in May 2007.

    Here’s what was said:

FROM MEET THE PRESS (June 19, 2005):
TIM RUSSERT: Let me turn to another ethical, moral, political issue, stem cell research. In 2000, John McCain and 19 other senators wrote a letter which said “Since 1996 Congress has banned federal funding for `research in which a human embryo or embryos are destroyed.’ …we support [this law].”

    You’ve changed your mind.

    McCAIN: Yes, I have.

Obviously he has not changed his position given who endorsed him today. He’s still at his prior changed position of supporting using babies as guinea pigs, just like Nancy likes.

IC: I see what you are saying but the information that you just posted is from 2005 and 2007. The article I linked was from January 31, 2008. The information about him thinking about changing is mind is much more recent.

Just because Nancy (a true nut ball) is endorsing McCain, today, has nothing to do with his or her stance on embryonic stem cell research. She supported both Bushes and they are against embryonic stem cell research. She is just towing the party line and endorsing the GOP candidate.

The article I posted never said McCain has changed his mind and is, now, against embryonic stem cell research. Senator Brownback said he is conversing and counseling McCain to reconsider based on new scientific research that has come forward in the last year.

McCain still supports embryonic stem cell research for the current lines that are available. This is WRONG. Even so, McCain is at least listening to Brownback and others about how embryonic stem cell research is not needed. Hillary and Obama won’t even have discourse on the subject. We can hope and pray that McCain will change his mind.

SG: You’ve got nothing but open borders Brownback talking to his open borders buddy John McCain. It means nothing. It’s nothing more than media fed tripe. If McCain really wanted to care about human life he’d stand firm against experimentation on babies and Nancy would withhold endorsement till some time later. The FACT she endorsed him NOW shows where he stands.

Oh yea, and did I mention he’s an open borders advocate like most of the top brass in your beloved GOP?

SteelGator reply on April 1st, 2008 at 4:23 pm :

Open boarders is old news. McCain is definitely wrong on this issue as well. However, Hillary and Obama will be much worse.

Nancy would endorse McLame as you call him regardless of his stance on embryonic stem cell research. She is going to endorse the GOP candidate PERIOD…..This is just what former First Ladies do….They always endorse their parties candidate.

At least with McCain, there can be some discourse and maybe he will have a change of heart and mind on stem cell research as well as open boarders. I still hold out hope that he might actually do what is right. Hilldabeast and Obama are never going to change their mind on these issues.

McCain has a solid record of opposing earmarks and pork barrel spending projects. Most Dems and GOPers do not.

IndependentConservative reply on April 1st, 2008 at 4:37 pm :

Open borders = I’m not voting McCain.

Bottom line, dead babies. Nothing more to talk about.

At least Hillary and Obama are nearly HONEST and stop GAMING on these issues! They say they want the borders open and babies dead (with crafty words). The GOP is all for the same, open borders and McLame will have the dead babies too.
