When the Azusa Madness went north of the border it landed in Toronto.
Check out the promotional video the cult known as the Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship has produced. They are rather proud of their out of order behavior. But some aspects of the cult they don’t mention in the video, but check out their promo video and then I’ll share more with you about why they are a cult. Although, the video should make it obvious.
Now if you don’t know what is wrong with that video, please check this out.
And notice how they laud cultists like Benny Hinn and Kathryn Kuhlman.
They talk of a “transferable” fire, but it’s not really about faith in Christ for salvation. It’s about jumping around and getting all worked up, then claiming it was Gawd because you got yourself sweaty. And they want to soak the world in this foolishness! They speak of the fulfillment of Joel 2:28-29, but guess where that already happened and never resembled the nonsense in that video? Read Acts 2. Peter said this is what was spoken of through the prophet Joel. What was happening with the Apostles and those establishing the church, not John And Carol Arnott. The Holy Spirit now pours on all who receive Christ in truth, by way of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in every believer, the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Learn About the Holy Spirit. What is taking place in that video is unbiblical!
See other details here of why Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship (TACF) is a cult. (Warning, you might want to turn your PC audio down before clicking that link or the link below.)
And it’s a rather protective cult too. When they get exposed too much, they take the person exposing them to court.
So if you’re ever in Toronto, you have one less place to worry about going to and can spend your time better elsewhere.

Thanks for sharing.
In my opinion, these displays amount to nothing different than taking drugs, having sex, gambling, overeating and sniffing aerosols all for the means of achieving a high, while trying to put a “Christian” spin on it. The worst part about all of this is that the unsaved and saved, but ignorant, will think this crap is normal!!
Thankfully, the church I left was nowhere near as bad as this, but I have been part of other assemblies where the men whipped themselves up to a point where they literally sweated out the jackets of their suits after performing like jackals. Disgustuing!!!
SteelGator reply on March 27th, 2008 at 1:19 pm :
Great point ncatina. The people aren’t have a relationship with the Holy Spirit, God or his son Jesus. They are having a experience that is self centered and self gratifying. Much of this is like the trances that Hindus go into. They start out with yoga and then start clucking like chickens or laughing uncontrollable. If this is OF GOD, why would non believing Hindu heathens be able to manifest the same spirit? Obviously, this is a spirit….a spirit of demons rather than the Holy Spirit.
IC: Isn’t that church, Brownsville I think is the name, over in Pensacola an offshoot of the Toronto Blessing?
ncatina reply on March 27th, 2008 at 1:33 pm :
I would not want to be party to ANY religion that would have me imitat the behaviors of an animal.
SteelGator reply on March 27th, 2008 at 1:36 pm :
I agree….Ncatina, have you seen the so called Christians “Slain in the Spirit” rolling in the aisles and making animal noises? I have never see it first hand but I have see video’s about it.
IndependentConservative reply on March 27th, 2008 at 1:40 pm :
Yup and unlike with Aaron’s rod (Exodus 7:8-13), their snake can’t eat the others, because it’s all the SAME SNAKE!
Check this out: Christian Voodoo????
The Brownsville
RevivalIncident is of the same false Azusa madness as Toronto, but I don’t know if any of the individuals are the same. The Toronto ‘Blessing’ and Brownsville ‘Revival’.. Move of God or demonic deception
SteelGator reply on March 27th, 2008 at 2:35 pm :
IC: Wow….That Christian Voodoo video is scary. I have also seen the web site on Toronto and Brownsville before. It is very informative and needs to be shared with anyone that is trapped in these cults.
ncatina reply on March 27th, 2008 at 2:56 pm :
“Christian Voodoo” is a misnomer in and of itself.

SteelGator, I have heard the term “slain in the spirit” many times, but thankfully, the episodes never culminated into a scene from the zoo or kennel.

Slain in the spirit is a concept unknown in Scripture, which is nothing unusual for groups like this.Certainly that would never stop them from engaging in it.
I remember being at Rhema and having as part of our class work going to two weeks of Rodney How-wierd Browne “laughing revival” meetings. If that wasn’t enough to open my eyes to WoF/Charismaniac foolishness, the follow-up by Kenneth Hagin was. Hagin claimed God told him (God spoke to Kenneth more than I speak to my wife apparently)to hold these same type of meetings all over the country or “This move of God would be lost to this generation”. Hagin said it was nothing new, he had been seeing and doing it since the 40s.
Then, it was nightly doses of Hagin hissing like a snake while he “Slayed” folks into uncontrollable laughter and animal imitation, along with other “luminaries” such as Copeland and Richard Roberts joining in.

Wow GaryV, they really poured the doctrines of evil all over you didn’t they?
If you can get people to do all kinds of foolishness they’d never do anywhere else in front of you. Getting them to dedicate 10% to you as giving to Gawd and then getting even more of their money is pretty easy.

Slain in the spirit is a modern practice, unknown to the Fathers of the church and scripture. There are also many instances in scripture that when someone fell backwards, judgment was in view. Eli for example.

This disgusts me…it really does. I’m a open-minded guy on some things, but this is nothing more than hippies in nice clothes, getting together to have “church”. “Some call it interesting…” - Doug calls it downright demonic and heretical. Was there any mention of teaching, of doctrine, of any statement of faith in that video? Unlikely that they would have sat down and looked at Scripture in the first place, before they opened up to such demonic influences. EVIL - just pure, unadulterated evil!!!
ncatina reply on March 28th, 2008 at 9:12 am :
truthintheselastdays, what I have come to learn in too many of these assemblies is one of two things concerning the Word in these settings. Either it’s “taught” out of context or not taught at all.
I think most on this blog would agree that those participating in these “events” are biblically ignorant, and have NO CLUE that what they are a part of is not of God. IC made a good point when he responded to GaryV, saying that if you can convince people to do circus tricks in church and call it “a move of Gawd,” these people would also be ripe to harvest whatever money they have, all for the sake of a sad and hideous facade.

At times like this, I am thankful I’m a Reformed Baptist. If ever my church goes nuts like this [I know it won't...], my Bible and I are heading to the door and not looking back
