In all seriousness though, Kwame needs to make a bee line for the street and get out of office. It turns my stomach that he is going to put Detroit (and Wayne County) through the ringer with the DA’s office (re: TAXPAYER FUNDS) to prosecute this nut, because he refuses to leave office on his own accord.

Detroit is one of the poorest cities in the US, has experienced its fair share of corrupt politicians (white and black) and shame over the course of time, and has lost a huge number of jobs with the automakers with the residents being the ultimate losers. I agree with SpeakingTruth that too often, blacks are continuously trumping experience and competence for race. (This is why I am THOROUGHLY turned off by the presidential contest now.)

In PHL, we have been through TWO black mayors, W. Wilson Goode was a total lame duck in the 80s and John Street (with his sidekick brother, Milton) helped us earn the title “Killadelphia” for the nearly 900 people that were killed here in the time he was in office. Despite that, they still have their supporters.

Thank God the person we have in office now, Michael Nutter (black), has made some progress with slowing the murders here in PHL.

And when I think about they support Ben and Charisse Gibert after they were exposed, I can only say it’s all very sad.

Racial politics is alive and well in both cities, and many corrupt black politicians get away with lots of dirt because the black electorate will protect them from “the white man”.

We’re so concerned with making sure that “we” are represented, we’ll prop up any brother (or sister) for cover – especially if he dresses in nice suits and speaks the “language of the street”.

I guess old Kwame thought that this problem would go away when he apologized from his Pastor’s study. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was re-elected after this mess (remember Marion Barry?)…
