I’m not big on awards and sometimes I almost beg you not to nominate me for some of them. However, I have received one today that is done in a fashion that ensures I’m not associated with any junk and I can pass the honor on to others. So it’s not me trying to hold some glory. So I feel this one is OK.

Real Christianity tagged me with the Thinking Blogger Award. Thank you Alan.

Here’s my award:

Alan Higgins over at Real Christianity did not accept the award to glorify himself, you can see he gives all glory to God. I likewise have no glory of myself, but give God glory for anything of benefit that anyone reads here.

As part of the process with this award, which we are using as a means to glorify God in telling you about blogs that are edifying. I am supposed to make you aware of 5 blogs that I enjoy and I am passing the award to. Those blogs if accepting the award are to make a post about it, in that post link to 5 blogs that make them think, link to this post so that people know who passed the award to them and optionally post the award graphic, using the gold (above) or silver version of the award graphic. Only a blog granted the award by another can be part of this process.

I’ve pondered if this awards process might violate 2 Corinthians 10:12, but to avoid such a violation, I say that I am not claiming to be anyone’s authority in the faith. I don’t feel my blog is better to read than the next and honestly I’m surprised so many people come around here . I just share my thoughts on matters and you know I claim no church authority over anyone. And if this award gets to the point where people are hosting parties and ceremonies over it I think I’ll pass . I’m not good, God is good. Don’t follow me, follow Christ.

So here are the 5 blogs I am noting as blogs that make me think:

• La Shawn Barber of La Shawn Barber’s Corner. This sister in Christ has the blog that really got me interested in blogs. Before hers I saw them and thought they all were a waste of web space. (This is probably her 100th time winning this award.)
• Melvin Jones of Pulpit Pimps. It’s Proverbs 27:17 all the way!
• Job King of Jesus Christology. This brother’s blog has more than I think I might honestly be able to learn from in this lifetime. I try to keep up with it, but there’s so much I always wish I could look at there and never have time.
• Pastor DL Foster of Gay Christian Movement Watch. I first met him back when I was doing one of my prior sites and he’s had me thinking ever since.
• Dennis of Fire & Hammer. This brother’s blog always has something that is thought provoking.
