In the news today:
First animal-human embryo trials to go ahead
Experiments to create Britain’s first embryos that merge human and animal material will begin within months after a Government watchdog today approved two research teams to carry out the controversial work.
Scientists at King’s College London and the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne will now inject human DNA into empty eggs from cows, to create embryos known as cytoplasmic hybrids that are 99.9 per cent human in genetic terms.
The experiments are intended to provide insights into diseases such as Parkinson’s and spinal muscular atrophy by producing stem cells containing genetic defects that contribute to these conditions.
These will be used as cell models for investigating new approaches to treatment and for improving understanding of how embryonic stem cells develop. They will not be used in therapy, and it is illegal to implant them into the womb.

The Newcastle group has been asked to provide patient consent forms and to obtain approval from the university’s ethics committee before working with DNA from donated skin cells but it has been cleared to start work immediately using DNA from the UK Stem Cell Bank.
It had originally proposed to use human tissue from a commercial US bank but this was rejected because the donors had not given explicit consent for their cells to be used for making cloned embryos that would be destroyed in experiments.
…
Some critics of cybrid embryos have argued that their use is no longer necessary, given the recent development of a reprogramming technique that can turn back the clock on adult tissue to make “induced pluripotent” stem cells with embryo-like properties, but the HFEA licence committee rejected this.
“The committee considered the emergence of new technologies for reprogramming adult somatic [non-reproductive] cells and agreed that, while very promising, these new technologies do not obviate the need for the basic research into differentiation of pluripotential embryonic stem cells as proposed in this application,” it said.

It is important that saints of the Lord Jesus Christ avoid involvement in what is being done in regards to embryos that mix man and beast. What is being done by those scientists is an effort to trump both the laws of God and nature. So saints should not have any involvement in it at all. We know that by laws of nature, when a human lays down with a beast no offspring comes from it. Both man and beast physically reject each other’s materials used for reproduction, when such abomination as a man lying with a beast or a woman lying with a beast occurs. We know such acts were against the law of God under the old covenant because of:
Leviticus 18:23 (New American Standard Bible)
23 ‘Also you shall not have intercourse with any animal to be defiled with it, nor shall any woman stand before an animal to mate with it; it is a perversion.
|
And we know every single abomination noted in Leviticus 18 was given as a command for the new covenant church to avoid because of:
Acts 15:28-29 (New American Standard Bible)
28 “For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to lay upon you no greater burden than these essentials: 29 that you abstain from things sacrificed to idols and from blood and from things strangled and from fornication; if you keep yourselves free from such things, you will do well. Farewell.”

God, the Holy Spirit found it good for Gentile converts to avoid sexual immorality, fornication. This is why what was an abomination still is an abomination, even with a new covenant and grace from the penalty of the law of the old.
With scientists attempting to make a life form that mixes man and beast the scientists are doing something that even nature would not normally allow. If God will allow to live (even on a cellular level) what they attempt to create remains to be seen. But we know that such activity is sinful just the same.
So all I can do is sound an alarm and warn saints, to in all ways avoid this mixing of man and beast.
For those who don’t know the Lord Jesus, all I can do for them is inform them to come to know the Lord Jesus and turn from their wicked ways, John 3:16-21.

There’s no end to what these “little gods” will do.

I just clicked on this; however, I told my sons years ago that it wouldn’t surprise me if someone would attempt such abomination. Depraved people who call themselves gods are capable to trying anything.

I like the title to this. That’s exactly what it is, an abomination. ‘the island of Dr Moreau’ come to life. Sick, sick people. They must believe themselves to be gods to think they can create a race of souless creatures who are neither human nor animal.

I don’t know what 99.9% human is.
What I do know is that this they are doing is an abomination.
If we just want to do things for the medical benefits, plenty of dictators (and others with authority to get away with it) have authorized full out human experimentation on groups they deemed to be less than worthy to live in peace.
This is a case of man creating part human lab rats, that they hope they will be able to destroy early on, or perhaps allow to live longer for their testing. It’s just wrong and sick.
