Sticking to the Authority of Scripture

by @ 1:37 pm. Filed under The Truth Shall Set you Free!

The Bible versus other weaker authorities claimed by men.

John MacArthur Explains Authority of Scripture

An explanation of why scripture is inerrant.

Providing Teaching for the Christians in Iran

As scipture says:

2 Peter 1:16-21 (New American Standard Bible)

16 For we did not follow cleverly devised tales when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of His majesty. 17 For when He received honor and glory from God the Father, such an utterance as this was made to Him by the Majestic Glory, “This is My beloved Son with whom I am well-pleased”–

18 and we ourselves heard this utterance made from heaven when we were with Him on the holy mountain.

19 So we have the prophetic word made more sure, to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts.

20 But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation,

21 for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.

I will stick to the sure word!

Christian Persecution in Israel, Confirms the Partial Hardening Continues. Evangelize to Israel and the World!

by @ 12:59 pm. Filed under Evangelicals Under Attack

While some saints see Israel as some neat vacation spot, or a place to simply send money, food or arms. Others are doing a greater work for Israel, in spreading the Gospel message there. And they face persecution, because they live godly in Christ.

2 Timothy 3:12 (New King James Version)

12 Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.

Check out the video below:

Ministry and Persecution in Arad, Israel

Brother Job also has a similar video up at his blog Jesus Christology. Before you comment, I humbly ask you to read Romans 11 in full. Even if you’ve read it before, please read it again now. I don’t desire that anyone see themselves as wise or speak from a position of arrogance.

May the Lord’s will be done and please seek to help efforts that do more than meet Israel’s material needs. There is a greater spiritual need and we saints should not shy from that responsibility the Lord has given us to minister the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to Israel. We should also consider the needs of our fellow saints there, who are standing firm and holding to Christ while being persecuted.

Thomas Weeks Breaks His Promise to Shut Up About Marriage Issues. Issues Threat to Release Book!

by @ 11:05 pm. Filed under Nuts on Parade

I was REALLY hoping he’d keep his mouth shut. But given he’s going back on his word, he must be fully shown for the fraud that he is. You might remember the video that was in this post, where Weeks says things like:

I am making a personal truce. That I will share with no media. As I’ve turned down hundreds of interview opportunities. In the last 48 hours, I have turned down several of them, that I will no longer promote this situation.

He’s pulled that video. It’s no longer on YouTube or any other place he had it up at online.

An Atlanta paper wrote this article about that video.

Bishop Weeks yanks tell-all book on Bynum, apologizes in online video 12/13/2007

A jazz piano plays soft music. A field of holiday chrysanthemums fills the screen. A husband lounges on a red couch to send a video love letter to his estranged wife.

This is not just any public apology – it’s from Bishop Thomas W. Weeks III to his wife, national evangelist JuanBynumynum.

The book, “What Love Taught Me,” was coincidentally released by Global Destiny Publishing after Bynum dished about her stormy marriage to Weeks in a two-part interview in Essence magazine.
On Monday, Weeks, appeared on the Tom Joyner Morning Show to announce the debut of his book, which was selling for $13.95. It included pages detailing what Weeks said were the couple’s “weaknesses” in chapters with titles like “Opposites Attract, But Do They Last,” and “She Wanted To Be the Next Oprah at Any Cost,”
About 48 hours later, “What Love Taught Me” was yanked from distribution with this message on his website to his wife and his Global Destiny church family: “I want to speak to my wife,” Weeks pleads. “I haven’t been able to talk to her since Aug. 21, but I want to share something very personal and heartfelt. … I have wounded her emotionally in the last 48 hours. I want to say publicly, globally and privately from my heart, I’m sorry. I am pulling every book that would have been shipped.”
Weeks, an author and leader of a global ministry, promises a “full refund” to those who have ordered the book and says he will rerelease it at another date under a new title, “What Love Taught Me – Only.”

However, in his video apology to his wife, Weeks thanks Bynum for sending him a “prayer shawl” and says he will be sending her a gift too ? a book his father gave him that helped his spiritual life.

“My love for you still stands. I still appreciate everything you have done for me and have done for this ministry,” Weeks says in the video message. “No matter where we go in life I will always pray for you.”

So you thought Weeks was going to keep his mouth shut? Well I’ve said repeatedly, a person who lies about God can’t be trusted at all. He’s a big time heretic, teaches the false prosperity doctrine and is just full of filth.

Well now his “PR firm”, that is named Double XXposure has issued the following press release. Part of that press release is below.

THOMAS WEEKS, III IS FED UP: Embattled Bishop plans to speak out. 12/21/2007

Earlier this week, Bishop Weeks retracted the publishing of his memoir, What Love Taught Me. Weeks is, by no means, out to wound or defame his wife. He is simply emphasizing that he is torn between protecting his wife as well as protecting his Atlanta church and ministry at large.

In response to the most recent outcry, a press release on behalf of Mrs. Bynum-Weeks was followed by a radio interview on the syndicated Tom Joyner Morning Show. Bynum-Weeks’ brother made malicious statements against Weeks and his church. The Bishop says his silence cannot be contained for much longer. These continued deliberate and assassinating attacks against Bishop Weeks’ character have compromised his longstanding pastoral ministry of over 10 years. Weeks wishes to bring closure to this situation so that publicly, corporately and worldwide, members of the Global Destiny Ministries, as well as the body of Christ, can welcome in the New Year on a positive note.

In the interest of the church, if there is any further agitation by Mrs. Bynum-Weeks or her publicity team, Bishop Weeks’ public relations firm, Double XXposure will be releasing his highly anticipated memoir, What Love Taught Me. With this, the highest level of clarity and truth will be exposed with regard to this matter. At the very least, Bishop Weeks hopes to bring closure to all of the drama that has been stirred up through various media outlets.

He’s gone from pulling the book, to threatening to release it. Perhaps the previous pulling of the book was a publicity stunt, to garner more sales with a later release, using an excuse like this?

I did not think much of it when a reader named Renea informed me that an article featuring Weeks talking about Juanita Bynum (who is also a false teacher) was released in the January 2008 issue of Gospel Today Magazine, just after his supposed “truce”. Perhaps I was mistaken to overlook Renea’s note of concern. Perhaps that and all of this was clever timing on Weeks’ part? Perhaps it was silly of me to assume he did the interview before the truce and had no means to prevent it from going to print? I really wanted him to shut up. You just can’t ever trust a snake.

This shift from Weeks only makes me think of the following.

Proverbs 6:16-19 (New American Standard Bible)

16 There are six things which the LORD hates,
Yes, seven which are an abomination to Him:
17 Haughty eyes, a lying tongue,
And hands that shed innocent blood,
18 A heart that devises wicked plans,
Feet that run rapidly to evil,
19 A false witness who utters lies,
And one who spreads strife among brothers.

Well we know both Bynum and Weeks think they are better than the world and entitled earthly “prosperity” (haughty eyes). They lie about scripture and now the tongue of Weeks can’t be trusted even when it says it will stop moving (lying tongue). All they do in the media is wicked (wicked plans). It seems they move pretty quick for a spotlight, to do their wickedness (rapid to evil). Each says the other is lying (false witness who utters lies). And they are nothing but strife to all who claim the Lord’s name (spread strife among brothers). Short of shedding innocent blood, Juanita Bynum and Thomas Weeks seem to have engaged in everything the Lord hates, plus the abomination.

Well there is still time for them to turn from all the mess they’ve done. There’s still a chance they will honestly accept Jesus Christ and walk in truth. It would be so nice if they really did.

More Vipers Might Face Government Scrutiny.

by @ 11:32 am. Filed under Nuts on Parade

Our brother up in Canada, Walter Kambulow, who has kept a watch on the Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship games for so long, that they’ve tried to sue him for exposing them, sent me this tip. In a NY Times article about the investigation by US Senator Charles “Chuck” Grassley, the article begins and mostly covers how most of the pimps have not fully complied with government requests for information.

Senator Awaiting Records of Ministries’ Finances

Six weeks after Senator Charles E. Grassley asked six well-known evangelistic ministries to provide information on how they spent donors’ money, only two have complied.

The leaders of two ministries contacted by Mr. Grassley’s office who have answered his queries are Kenneth and Gloria Copeland of Kenneth Copeland Ministries of Newark, Tex., and Joyce Meyer, who with her husband, David, runs Joyce Meyer Ministries from Fenton, Mo.

Lawyers for Randy and Paula White contacted Mr. Grassley’s office asking for more time, a spokeswoman for Mr. Grassley, Jill Gerber, said.

In an e-mail response to a request for comment, a spokesman for Mr. Hinn said that the church had been in touch with the Senate office and “plans to facilitate a response to Senator Grassley’s inquiry by January 30th.”Bishop Eddie L. Long of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia, Ga., and the Rev. Creflo A. Dollar Jr. of World Changers Church International in College Park, Ga., have indicated they will not cooperate with the inquiry.

You probably already knew much of that. But at the bottom of the article is a very intersting statement.

Mr. Grassley may send letters to other ministries in the future, aides said. Because of news media coverage of the letters to the six ministries, his office has been flooded with calls about them and other church organizations, too, the aides said.

The NY Times only eludes to it briefly at the end of the article, but it’s apparent that the outcry against pimps to Grassley’s office has now gone beyond simply Ole Anthony. Now Senator Grassley’s office is “flooded” with calls about those pimp vipers and church groups suspected of being the same.

I’m not one that looks to government for the resolution of church matters, but it’s obvious people all over are tired of pimps fleecing saints. They are turning to government because it appears to be the place their voice is heard. It has always been my hope that saints could help each other, but it appears government’s hand will be pulled into doing more investigations.

I think those who are lying to saints and mishandling funds had better clean up their acts fast! Because while some of us desired to sound the alarm via blogs and other online methods for the sake of warning the sheep, others are calling in the force of government. And I’m sure the outcome will be more than simple online debate. I still feel rather than government fixes, saints must warn other saints. Because even if government took 100 vipers and tossed them in prison, if the people who followed them don’t come out of false doctrines, they’ll build up 200+ vipers to take the place of the 100 that were removed. I’m not saying any government inquiry should stop, but God desires for His children who are called to His Son to help each other. So the false doctrines such as the prosperity doctrine that spawns these vipers must continually be spoken against. It is spoken against in scripture (1 Timothy 6) and the effort must continue.

Taking Christmas Beyond the Manger

by @ 5:06 pm. Filed under The Truth Shall Set you Free!

So every year Christians proclaim that Christmas is about the birth of Jesus. OK, now what? Let’s say someone believes that a celebration called “Christmas” is about the birth of Jesus. Would this mean they are saved? No. Because even those who desired to kill Jesus knew He was born and I’m sure they knew the exact and actual birth date.

So it is incumbent upon Christians to carry the Christmas message an extra mile. (Whether or not you are a Christian, please keep reading.) Many Christians work very hard, to tell everyone Christmas is about the birth of Jesus. However, there are a great many things we must help others understand. So that the message is told, that frees those who believe from condemnation.
Jesus, is not simply a baby born in a miracle to a virgin. Even before the manger, He was One with the Father and pre-existed time its self.

Isaiah 48:12-16 (New American Standard Bible)

12 “Listen to Me, O Jacob, even Israel whom I called;
I am He, I am the first, I am also the last.
13 “Surely My hand founded the earth,
And My right hand spread out the heavens;
When I call to them, they stand together.
14 “Assemble, all of you, and listen!
Who among them has declared these things?
The LORD loves him; he will carry out His good pleasure on Babylon,
And His arm will be against the Chaldeans.
15 “I, even I, have spoken; indeed I have called him,
I have brought him, and He will make his ways successful.
16 “Come near to Me, listen to this:
From the first I have not spoken in secret,
From the time it took place, I was there
And now the Lord GOD has sent Me, and His Spirit.”

Christ is the ONLY way to God and the One through whom the world was made.

Hebrews 1:1-2 (New American Standard Bible)

1 God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways,

2 in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world.

One with God the Father and God in flesh, John 1.

We must let the world know He was more than a baby in a manger, but the First and the Last.

Revelation 1:17-18 (New American Standard Bible)

17 When I saw Him, I fell at His feet like a dead man And He placed His right hand on me, saying, “Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last,

18 and the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades.

The Alpha and the Omega.

Revelation 22:12-14 (New American Standard Bible)

12 “Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done.

13 “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.”

14 Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter by the gates into the city.

Died and rose again. Man’s only hope for salvation.

Romans 10:9-13 (New American Standard Bible)

9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;

10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.

11 For the Scripture says, “WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.”

12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him;

13 for “WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED.”

His blood was shed for sin and only His blood will wash those who beleive.

Revelation 7:14 (New American Standard Bible)

14 I said to him, “My lord, you know.” And he said to me, “These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

Because no other name can save anyone.

Acts 4:12 (New American Standard Bible)

12 “And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.”

We’ve got to give more than the message of the manger, we’ve got to give the message that proclaims Jesus is Christ and the ONLY means for anyone’s salvation.

John 3:13-21 (New American Standard Bible)

13 “No one has ascended into heaven, but He who descended from heaven: the Son of Man. 14″ As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up;

15 so that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life.

16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

17 “For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.

18 “He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

19 “This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil.

20 “For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.

21 “But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God.”

I pray all of you have a Merry Christmas and strive to take the message of the Lord Jesus Christ beyond the manger.
