John MacArthur Explains Authority of Scripture

An explanation of why scripture is inerrant.

Providing Teaching for the Christians in Iran

As scipture says:

2 Peter 1:16-21 (New American Standard Bible)

16 For we did not follow cleverly devised tales when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of His majesty. 17 For when He received honor and glory from God the Father, such an utterance as this was made to Him by the Majestic Glory, “This is My beloved Son with whom I am well-pleased”–

18 and we ourselves heard this utterance made from heaven when we were with Him on the holy mountain.

19 So we have the prophetic word made more sure, to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts.

20 But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation,

21 for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.

I will stick to the sure word!

John McArthur – I just love him.  He is not to be shaken but stands firm on the Word of God.  I would like to see them interview him and Pastor Cotton Candy Joel Osteen together.  It is so refreshing to see someone in the public view standing up for TRUTH and not cowering for the sake of popularity.  They are now calling Captain Smiley Joel Osteen the "Spiritual Rock Star."  When will they see how the world endears them and remember the dangers of James 4:4?  Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

I wonder what Joel thinks when he reads Luke 6:26?

The answer to that is simple, IC: Joel doesn’t read it!!! If he did, he’d probably gloss over it…

Now that’s what I call standing up for TRUTH! I guess the WOFers that were on Larry King couldn’t answer with such biblical authority and SOUNDNESS because out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks…junk in junk out…word in…word out…Bless God for John McArthur and for the word truly being hidden in his heart.

    Oh, Willow Boy.

IC, where’s the link to the man preaching against Osteen’s doctrine in front of Lakewood Church and the link to Larry King’s interview with him as well and also MacArthur?

I can’t search them out for you at the moment, but use the “Search this site” box over on the left side of this page and you’ll find them all. Since they all include YouTube videos, include “youtube.com” without those quotes, along with other related terms like “Osteen” and “MacArthur” (without quotes) in your searches. Something like “youtube.com Osteen MacArthur” (without quotes) should find some of it. You’ll get the hang of it after a few tries with various terms you can think of.

Here’s one I never posted about that could have been part of this post.
