Our brother up in Canada, Walter Kambulow, who has kept a watch on the Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship games for so long, that they’ve tried to sue him for exposing them, sent me this tip. In a NY Times article about the investigation by US Senator Charles “Chuck” Grassley, the article begins and mostly covers how most of the pimps have not fully complied with government requests for information.
Senator Awaiting Records of Ministries’ Finances
|
You probably already knew much of that. But at the bottom of the article is a very intersting statement.
…
Mr. Grassley may send letters to other ministries in the future, aides said. Because of news media coverage of the letters to the six ministries, his office has been flooded with calls about them and other church organizations, too, the aides said.
The NY Times only eludes to it briefly at the end of the article, but it’s apparent that the outcry against pimps to Grassley’s office has now gone beyond simply Ole Anthony. Now Senator Grassley’s office is “flooded” with calls about those pimp vipers and church groups suspected of being the same.
I’m not one that looks to government for the resolution of church matters, but it’s obvious people all over are tired of pimps fleecing saints. They are turning to government because it appears to be the place their voice is heard. It has always been my hope that saints could help each other, but it appears government’s hand will be pulled into doing more investigations.
I think those who are lying to saints and mishandling funds had better clean up their acts fast! Because while some of us desired to sound the alarm via blogs and other online methods for the sake of warning the sheep, others are calling in the force of government. And I’m sure the outcome will be more than simple online debate. I still feel rather than government fixes, saints must warn other saints. Because even if government took 100 vipers and tossed them in prison, if the people who followed them don’t come out of false doctrines, they’ll build up 200+ vipers to take the place of the 100 that were removed. I’m not saying any government inquiry should stop, but God desires for His children who are called to His Son to help each other. So the false doctrines such as the prosperity doctrine that spawns these vipers must continually be spoken against. It is spoken against in scripture (1 Timothy 6) and the effort must continue.

After such scandals of the eighties like the Jim and Tammy Bakker scandal, Jimmy Swaggert and the Tilton scandal of the 90’s, you would think that folks have learned not to give their money to TV ministries. Joyce Meyer’s ministry was very small in the eighties and now look how its flourish. Therefore, it is agreed that if you take 100 ministries down, 200+ of them can rise up. It is our responsibility to search our scriptures and heed to the Spirit of God for ourselves and you can continue to warn the weak and unstable about these ministries. One more thing we must consider: the prophecies must be fulfilled before the second return of Jesus Christ.

Let’s be accurate in our wording
. We want pimps and vipers to fall, not real ministries
.
I’m sure everyone knows what you’re talking about, but we don’t want to risk anyone making a mistake about intentions.

If people will not heed the voice of the people of God shouting the warnings He will and does use world systems (governments) for the sake of His people. How many times have people like you been the ones called heretics for telling people to follow God and not these ‘christian superstars’? Two words that do not long belong in the same sentence ‘christian’ and ’superstar’. How many times have you and others had to endure ridicule and hateful words from other claiming you were doing the work of the devil because you would dare obey God and not sit back and say nothing? I wonder how many times people like you have been the subject of 10 min sermons that follow after the hour long pimping session that they call praise and worship which leads into the offering then into more praise and worship where the name of Jesus is rarely if ever mentioned? Don’t they realize that it is the mercy of God that has allowed them time to repent and change their ways, but they refused.
My pastor was at some meeting at PTL before they fell and Kenneth Copeland was speaking. My pastor said that he said God had told him to preach on repentance. Which he did for about 6 months. Then on TBN he said that the offerings were reducing so he is no longer going to speak on repentance and sin. And you know what has happened since then with ‘we are little gods’ Copeland. Don’t people realize God’s silence did not mean He approved. He might have been waiting until there were more mature christians around to be able to catch the weaker ones when everything was exposed. For most of us we are not suprised by all of this, but to the weaker ones this could destroy many with little faith because it was built on sand (money, emotions and busy works) and not solid rock (the word).

Absolutely, IC. I meant the ministries that has the tares not the wheat.
