I agree that Roman Catholics are one of the most difficult people to deal with. I once invited a former roommate, a Catholic and her boyfriend to my church and she wasn't having it. I visited only two Catholic churces in my lifetime. A Black Catholic church in my neighborhood that a friend once invited me to. It had a little Baptist feel to it and another on at the St Patricks Cathedral in NY when Cardinal O'Connor was alive and he invited people of all faiths to come to either Easter Sunday mass or Palm Sunday mass. I hated the idea of constantly bending down so they can say their Hail Marys.

I was Catholic. My brother still is. In fact, he's a deacon at his local chapter. Discussing the Bible with him is worse than talking to a JW. When we get to the very clear spots (Eph 2:6 - 10 type places) he slips into a "this is what the Church says this means" kind of a mindset. It's quite maddening.

While I am not willing to say that none of the people in the CC are saved, I will maintain that it is awfully difficult to be anything close to a consistent Christian following even a small percentage of the CC doctrine. If someone IS a Christian, it happened despite the teachings and not because of them. But hey, Luther was Catholic.
