Scripture regarding Romans 13 though, we will continue to discuss.

Given I was accused of by Booker G:

Manipulate the scriptures to serve your personal theology.

No sir, it is YOU who are manipulating scripture by claiming it was not God's plan that wills Bush into power.

I say:

For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God.

You feel when YOU disagree that God didn't put the person there, I say He did even when we disagree and you've got no scripture to say otherwise. God put Bush in, took Saddam out, has Kim Jung Il in place and so on. You disagree? You show the scripture that says God does NOT put who is in power in their position of earthly authority.

KyleAndrews, in that Nixon vs JFK race in 1960 it was IL that pivoted the race and a few votes with a mafia fix were all it took for old JFK to become America's darling. But Nixon felt it would best not to drag the nation into a squabble about votes and simple conceded to JFK. Of course Gore was ready to concede to Bush...till Jesse Jackson called. Yes, this whole mess our friend Booker G and others proclaim was one of Jesse Jackson's many games.

And when we speak of character, lets not forget Bill Clinton has been accused of rape (probably did it and we know Hillary covered) and we know what Clinton was doing in the Oval Office with a woman other than his wife!

Jimmy Carter, oh please! The wire tap hypocrite and defender of bogus elections, while you cry about Bush.

Booker G, let's put it like this, I don't agree with you.

I think Kyle is correct, we need to get back on topic. There will be no more comments about the 1960 or 2000 Presidential race in this thread. Any future comment made about those matters in this thread or another that is not appropriate for the post topic will be deleted.

Kyle and IC:

JFK and Clinton were both morally corrupt men, just like Nixon, Reagan, GHW Bush and W. In my opinion both W and Clinton avoided the draft. Just because W flew several planes and Clinton ran off to Oxford means absolutely nothing.

I am not a fan of Clinton and I cringe when I hear people refer to Clinton as the first black president. I don't want a man of his moral character aligned with being the best representation of my race, heritage and culture. The last time I checked William Clinton is white and he will remain white for the rest of his life.

Kennedy was a product of his father's political machine (similiar to Daddy Bush). Daddy Kennedy, a bootlegger, built his empire illegally and brought his son the presidency, just like Daddy Bush did for W.
If we accurately look at history, the most spiritual grounded and God fearing president that this country (in my lifetime) was probably Jimmy Carter. This is a man whose actions mirrowed his spiritual beliefs.
I have not decided about Barack yet, but I feel that he is the most viable African American candidate that this country will see in a long time.

IC: You are a tough man!!!
Since you are citing amendments and stuff, let's look at the actual case that decided the 2000 Presidential Election, Bush v. Gore

http://www.oyez.org/cases/2000-2009/2000/2000_00_949/
Facts of the CaseFollowing the U.S. Supreme Court's decision in Bush v. Palm Beach County Canvassing Board, and concurrent with Vice President Al Gore's contest of the certification of Florida presidential election results, on December 8, 2000 the Florida Supreme Court ordered that the Circuit Court in Leon County tabulate by hand 9000 contested ballots from Miami-Dade County. It also ordered that every county in Florida must immediately begin manually recounting all "under-votes" (ballots which did not indicate a vote for president) because there were enough contested ballots to place the outcome of the election in doubt. Governor George Bush and his running mate, Richard Cheney, filed a request for review in the U.S. Supreme Court and sought an emergency petition for a stay of the Florida Supreme Court's decision (my bold and underline). The U.S. Supreme Court granted review and issued the stay on December 9. It heard oral argument two days later.
QuestionDid the Florida Supreme Court violate Article II Section 1 Clause 2 of the U.S. Constitution by making new election law? Do standardless manual recounts violate the Equal Protection and Due Process Clauses of the Constitution?
ConclusionNoting that the Equal Protection clause guarantees individuals that their ballots cannot be devalued by "later arbitrary and disparate treatment," the per curiam opinion held 7-2 that the Florida Supreme Court's scheme for recounting ballots was unconstitutional. Even if the recount was fair in theory, it was unfair in practice. The record suggested that different standards were applied from ballot to ballot, precinct to precinct, and county to county. Because of those and other procedural difficulties, the court held that no constitutional recount could be fashioned in the time remaining (which was short because the Florida legislature wanted to take advantage of the "safe harbor" provided by 3 USC Section 5). Loathe to make broad precedents, the per curiam opinion limited its holding to the present case.

Rehnquist (in a concurring opinion joined by Scalia and Thomas) argued that the recount scheme was also unconstitutional because the Florida Supreme Court's decision made new election law, which only the state legislature may do.

Breyer and Souter (writing separately) agreed with the per curiam holding that the Florida Court's recount scheme violated the Equal Protection Clause, but they dissented with respect to the remedy, believing that a constitutional recount could be fashioned. Time is insubstantial when constitutional rights are at stake.

Ginsburg and Stevens (writing separately) argued that for reasons of federalism, the Florida Supreme Court's decision ought to be respected. Moreover, the Florida decision was fundamentally right; the Constitution requires that every vote be counted.

IC: William Rehnquist (Nixon appointee), Antonin Scalia, Sandra Day O'Connor, Anthony Kennedy (Reagan appointees) and Clarence Thomas (GHW Bush appointee) decided in the majority.

The following justices voted with the minority: JP Stevens (Ford appointee), Ruth Ginsburg, Stephen Beyer (Clinton appointees) and David Souter (GHW Bush appointee).

IC this supports my earlier statement that this decision was decided along party lines. W and Cheney benefitted from having a court that was appointed by the previous conservative administrations of Nixon, Reagan and Daddy Bush. This is the reason why GW BUSH and DICK CHENEY WANTED THE CASE TO GO TO THE SUPREME COURT!!!!IC you can not continue to deny this fact!!!

As far as your other assertion via scripture about this being God's will for W to be president is very subjective. What you have done with the scriptures is something that your boy Fast Eddie Long and his cronies (TD Fakes, Creflo, Paula White, etc.) do in pulpits across this country every Sunday. Manipulate the scriptures to serve your personal theology. So are you saying God supports torture? God supports bigatry and intolerance? God supports the violation of human rights?

This administration told us that Iraq had WMD's. This administration told us that Iran had a actively nuclear arms program. This administration told us that Saddam Hussien was behind the 9-11 attacks, but it has been proven that the 9-11 hijackers were all Saudi nationals. How come the US has not invaded Saudi Arabia? Why because W's daddy and his VP are benefitting from billion dollar contracts to redevelop a area that this administration has worked hard to destabilize.

I want to get back to the topic at hand regarding Obama. Obama has a 100% abortion support rating. He also recently put a openly gay minister on his team. Is there anything MORE anti - Christian than this? Please answer this one Booker G. Obamas charisma and good looks can only get him so far. Peel back the onion on this guy and you will see a flaming lib.

IC,

Did you mention the particulars regarding JFK VS NIXON. Booker G may not know just how close that race was. I forgot what state Nixon could have recounted. Now regarding the cke snorting and draft dodging thing about Bush let us not forget Clinton didn't go into the military AT ALL. Bush actually flew "real" planes in the National Gaurd. And come to think of it Clinton was not exactly squeeky clean regarding drug use. The one thing everyone forgets is that these are all flawed men.

In the National Opinion Research Center review of the election results, if a statewide recount had been conducted, Gore would have won.

In the state of Florida's certified count, Bush won. That's what counts.

Hope you rip JFK's legacy from him to be consistent.

Now Booker G, although God did put Bush in power, no matter how much you dislike it. I'm not trying to claim Bush is a Christian. In fact, I've written a little something you should share with anyone who believes George W. Bush is a Christian.

And regarding Gore, just hang out in the junk science section for a while.

Kyle:
Both candidates requested various county-by-county recounts. Neither candidate had formally requested a total statewide recount. In the National Opinion Research Center review of the election results, if a statewide recount had been conducted, Gore would have won. (http://www.norc.uchicago.edu/fl/index.aspted)
