I guess we’ll just have to hope he keeps his word, to keep his mouth shut about his marriage. I’m not participating in his prayer, that he has called for, because he is a heretic and so is Juanita Bynum Weeks. He should shut his mouth about more than just his marriage, but even him shutting his mouth about just his marriage is better than him spewing his heresies AND blabbing about his marriage.

Uh … I’m speechless. So, you beat your wife senseless, write a book three months later about what you learned from the "ordeal", recall the book several days later, then call a day of prayer and fasting for your followers so that 2008 will be the best year ever.

This sounds more like a "baby, please take me back" kinda thing, to me. It looks like he starting to miss her and is therefore trying to undo some of what he did. I don’t take his side or hers. She shouln’t have provoked him and he shouldn’t have hit her. Even in this litlle speach he goes on about stuff that is private. I can see explaining to people why he pulled the book, but I think he got a little mushy and "I really want my wife back" seeped out. I could, of course be totally wrong.
One thing I know: when the relationship is truly over, you don’t spend this much time and exhaust this many resources addressing the relationship; you deal to the degree that you have to and not allow it to affect all areas of your life. They are both silly and need to be still. Don’t they know people can see right through them?

Of course we know that books being held back sometimes is done for reasons other than what might be stated.

This marriage has been in trouble from the beginning. Weeks needs to shut up and so does Juanita. This entire mess would not be going on if they both would have kept quiet. Juanita should have let the police handle the incident in the parking lot, but she was too concerned about her name and reputation. Juanita and her crew put fuel on the fire by posting those pictures on the internet before the police got them, going on every talk show she could find, and the Essence article. At least Weeks apology seems more sincere than the fake one Juanita put out.

Well said. Weeks seems more sincere (amid all the junk he was talking, but I’m not going to get into it…), but the proof will be if he keeps his mouth shut. Because I’m sure part 2 of the Essence article is sure to fan flames.
And with Bynum’s pictures of bruises…we never saw her face in those pictures. Can we be 100% certain it was even her? If she had allowed the police to take the pictures we’d have certainty, but her friend took the pictures and did not show Bynum’s face in any of them. Police should not allow someone else to take the pictures away from officers. They should have told her a cop would have to take the photos.
