R.W. Schambach Trying to Sell God. Night 3 of the November 2007 TBN Pimp-a-thon!

by @ 11:50 am. Filed under Nuts on Parade

Our brother Matt Green is still on the case. He caught the pulpit mack from way back, R.W. Schambach running his game on TBN during night 3 of their latest pimp-a-thon.

Check out the video below. This guy comes with so much foolishness, I almost needed a seat belt to keep me from falling out of my chair!

TBN Fleece-a-Thon Fall 2007 Night 3

Before most of the pimps of today and before even the pimps currently under federal investigation, there was Schambach. He was running the games today’s pimps simply imitate before they rose up the pimp ranks themselves. Schambach goes so far back, I don’t even think the term “Pulpit Pimp” was in use when he was at the height of his popularity in the Religious Industry. So we must appropriately title R.W. Schambach, he is an OG Pulpit Pimp. Pimps like Schambach laid the evil foundation of false teaching via TV and traveling shows. All the tricks pimps use today Schambach used earlier. On TBN the OG Pulpit Pimp went straight for the jugular of covetousness. He claimed $2007 could wipe all your debts away! And the phone lines lit up. He played on claiming a Year of Jubilee. A big time play on an old covenant practice. He even claimed he was going to pay into the scam himself, because he says he’s in debt. Isn’t this one of those who claims to know how to beat debt and live in prosperity? If he’s falling repeatedly into debt himself, what is the value of his method even if it where to actually work? Focus on earthly material gain rather than contentment and repeat a cycle of simple lust for money? That is a false gospel and far from the Lord Jesus Christ.

The real “debt” that really matters was already canceled for saints.

Consider all the contrived things said by R.W. Scambot Schambach, with all his made up reasons for people needing to observe an old method for financial gain and weigh it against a full read of Colossians 2. Some claim I point out what is false while not showing what is good and true, read Colossians 2 and know the truth.

update 11/9/2007: One statement of heresy made by Scambot Schambach, that I should have mentioned and it’s often said by these pimps is noted in a comment by GaryV:

This idiot just said that you can BUY the Election of God for your family…………give Jan and Paul your “seed” and God will save your kids. Blasphemous.

Yup, that was totally called full out blasphemous heresy in Acts 8:20-22. The man says so much heresy, it’s hard to keep up at times.

Jubilee, boobilie. God is nice once every seven years.  Except for the Day of Atonement, the beginning of the year during first fruits, and Thanksgiving.  That is as long as you give TBN money. Shouldn’t these people be out of debt already with all the giving on these special days they’ve done??? Anybody can give $2007.00?  The longer I’ve been deprogrammed the more appalled I have become. I don’t know whether to cry or scream.

  2. AndyB Says:

God’s the one that gave us that "redial" button!

Errr.. yup, He gave us Mastercard too, I guess - you can use that too! Remember kids: "Visa takes life!" or… should that be the other way around… hmmm…. :-P

  3. KyleNYC Says:

    HE’S STILL ALIVE?!?

Didn’t his heart blow up a couple o’ years ago?

Our good brother over at LetUsReason.org has a good post up titled Death by faith that mentions:

R.W. Schambach, is one of the favorite Faith Healer’s on LeSea and TBN. He has said “You don’t have any problems, all you need is faith in God.” and on TBN recently he stated “God will heal you”. But its reported that he got a quadruple heart bypass from doctor (not doctor Jesus). What do those who hold to the faith teaching say about their own leaders doing this? It is for the most part ignored.

How far does one need to read into Matthew 23 before they figure out these hucksters are not doing as the Lord Jesus commands and should be AVOIDED?

I don’t know about you but this old sickly pimp and TBN is not getting $2,007 from me.

I can’t believe people fall for this crap year after year!

  8. stan Says:

As I type this, one of the very worst of them, His High Exalted Mystic Bishopness, Eddie (Bling) Long is promising a (watch this, watch this, watch this) thousand-fold return for all who give to this semi-annual Fleecing of the sheep on TBN. According to him, TBN is God’s place of Secret Announcements, a Spiritual Pentagon, where Paul and Jan can summon the Generals.  What a privilege it is to be watching him. I’d love to "watch this," Eddie,  but that bling  is flashing too brightly  for me to see as you wag your anointed finger at me.

  9. KyleNYC Says:

    Praiser4Lifer,

You have to ask yourself the same question that some, not all, but some of the self-indulgent, narcissistic actors in Hollywood ask themselves when preparing for a role (and which none of the sheeple who attend/watch these shows seem to do): what’s my motiviation?
Then you’ll know why they do it.

Mat 6:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. (KJV)

  10. art123 Says:

Schambach is an old mack from way back just like Oral Roberts. Ask your grandma or grandpa.

  11. stan Says:

These preachers never address why someone may be in debt. For instance, are they genuinely poor for reasons outside their control, or are they gamblers or shopaholics? Will God get someone out of debt who is irresponsible by having them give?  These hucksters certainly don’t care why they’re in debt, just that they will give even if they don’t have it to give.  This is shameless and reckless abuse of the needy by using the Word of God as a bribe.

  12. IndependentConservative Says:

You’re right Stan, they really don’t care what might be going on with those they are speaking to.  They just claim if they send in some money it will be alright.

Regarding debt, God NEVER told a Christian they would have their monetary debts removed in this life.  1 Timothy 6:1-16 in particular was what God had Paul to give to DEBT slaves.  Paul could not at all claim they would have a windfall of money, to free them from DEBT slavery.  Instead he told those DEBT slaves to be CONTENT, so long as they have food and shelter.  (Food and shelter, but still in debt because they’re still debt slaves.  Free in Christ, but physically slaves.)

All these folks sending money to pimps certainly are eating better than a debt slave and in far better accommodations also.

For the pimps’ game to work, they need a flock of folks who really don’t want the truth, that God has not promised them their financial debts will be wiped clean.  The pimps offer a false god, that moves based on money being given to them and the people giving embrace the false god.  They have all that is noted in verses 4 and 5 of the scripture I just mentioned.

I was once deceived by some of the lies, but thank the Lord I learned better.

  13. stan Says:

Interesting thoughts on debt slavery as it regards 1 Tim. 6, IC.

I only came out from an fellowship a couple of years ago which did not guard the flock from the wolves as they should have. As a teacher in the fellowship, I had contributed too by not paying attention either. Finally, the Lord shook me out of my naivete when I was handed The Final Quest by Rick Joyner to read. The scales fell from my eyes as I read that Sci-Fi/Fantasy book purported to be a vision from the Spirit. Joyner was held in high regard by some at our church, and to some unknown, but comparable degree, by the pastor too. My calling Joyner a false prophet was met with resistance by a vocal few, including the pastor. My subsequent  investigations into the celebrity ministers whose books, tapes and TV shows that strongly influenced many within our fellowship, revealed the dripping teeth of wolves under their wool.

I began an open campaign to expose them. It finally drew the direct injunction of the pastor. He told me not to name names any longer. My efforts threatened the peace he worked primarily to maintain among the disparate group that made up the @300 members/regulars.  We had Mike Bickle supporters, John Lake followers, Copeland quoters, Hinn admirers.  Our pastor was a Dutch Sheets fan. To be fair, I was sympathetic years ago toward some of these exalted personalities.  But, no longer.

I realized I had been put between God and man with that injunction. There was to be quiet tolerance of nearly every popular Charismatic ministry within the fellowship - for the sake of peace. I left after 25 years of faithful service and substantial financial support.  I took no one with me.

Since being out, my focus has been on the study and teaching of the apostle’s doctrine and contending for the faith
that was once and for all delivered to the saints. By God’s grace, I will continue doing that.

God help that church and all like them.

  14. Copeland8 Says:

TBN should be ashamed of itself for begging for money like it does. Everyone knows that it takes money to run a ministry, but I saw somebody ask for 1,200 a year ot 120 a month to send in. Then he said, don’t let the measuring stick apply to your finances. 120 per month is a lot of money to some people and it can be used for essentials. The preacher said they need to give the money in faith. My husband said they should keep the 1200 and send their kids to college instead!!

I see nothing worng with asking for donations, but there is really something wrong when preachers use OT scriptures to come up with schemes to get people to dig into their wallets. It really is a shame

  15. IndependentConservative Says:

Stan, I first want to say PRAISE THE LORD He helped you see the gross error.

For anyone wondering, here’s a review of Rick Joyner’s book The Final Quest, but some good Bible teachers.

The prosperity lie is totally against the real truth of scripture and I tried to point that out in detail, in my post titled Contentment.

  16. rehabbedchurchgoer Says:

As far as the source of the sheeples financial woes….The prosperity message intensifies them.  When material wealth is seen as a sign of God’s blessings, it encourages debt.  You don’t want to look un-spiritual, do you? It is a form of legalism that makes people feel like failures in their faith.

And how are they to get out of their debt when they are sending in their credit card payments to these guys?  Or giving on credit all based on a bunch of false promises.  I’m sure we all have countless examples of poor folks giving their last dime and not being able to get tangible help from these people in their times of need.

  17. KyleNYC Says:

    Dear Stan,

I have to second IC’s praise of and for the Lord in helping you see the error of their ways.  Rick Joyner, C. Peter Wagner and Charles Pierce and their whole ilk are very, very dangerous.  Watch them.

  18. stan Says:

To IC and KyleNYC, Thank you for the encouragement.  I have done quite a bit of research on those pretenders such as Wagner, Pierce, Sheets, Jacobs, Hamon, etc, who call themselves apostles. I have discussed the false apostle movement at some length with our Monday night group.  We’re on the alert.

Some of them have given to TBN ministries in the past; but no longer, now that we’ve taken the time expose their scams such as the Praise-a-thons and their line-up of greedy false teachers.

In our group, we have the freedom to examine and expose the modern false teachers, whether it’s the money-grabbing televangelists or the gnostic-based apostles/prophets movement. I plan on dealing shortly with the weird signs and wonders of the Patricia Kings and their ilk.

So far, I am not aware of any of the local  Charismatic/Pentecostal leaders exposing this corruption in their midst. So far, there is either active promotion or silent tolerance of them. I pray that God will give us some local leadership in this critical work who will take them on from the pulpits without fear.

  19. IndependentConservative Says:

Stan, I know over at Pulpit-pimp.org there are often saints looking for good local church leadership in their area and often folks there are able to help in making suggestions.  That blog gets way more comments than mine here, so mentioning there where you are and that you’re looking might result in some good recommendations.  You probably could just ask in the comments of any open post there.

  20. fourpointer Says:

Somebody needs to put up the "blue screen of death" on this one–’cause Scahmbach opened up with a "fatal error."

He uses this "2007–the seventh year" nonsense. The only thing 2007 is the "seventh year" of is the 21st century. I don’t suppose any of these people actually took a gander at a Jewish calendar to see if this was indeed a "Jubille year." (Nah, that would actually require them to search for an answer from an authoritative source.) See, the problem these people run into is that they use a Christian calendar to mark Jewish occassions. And as many times as our calendar has been changed, who knows what year this actually is. In fact, many experts believe that Jesus was born in the year 4 BC. Which would make this 2011, meaning these people have missed out on their blessed ah-NOHN-t’n.

  21. stan Says:

Thanks, IC,  I visit Melvins’ blog often.
