So I just heard the audio of Dog firing his own son for dating a Black woman and speaking of how he does not want his daughter to date anyone Black either and how he’d CURSE HER if she did. Well I guess no matter how good a Black man is at being a bounty hunter, he’d never get a job with the Dog if even the Dog’s White employees (which are mostly his family) can’t date a Black person. He can make all the excuses he wants, but the bottom line is that he is not just employing people based on race, but also the race of the person they date.
The real irony is that he talks about how he does not desire to lose everything over a racial dust up. (The fired son set him up when recording the audio to basically kick himself in the head.) Well Dog, I don’t know if you’ll lose it all, but you have lost one viewer of your TV show. Not that I watch much TV in the first place, but I have watched the show and at times got caught up in the marathons when aired. (Which is like watching an entire season in a day.) The guy always acts like he’s trying to help people find Christ and get their lives straight. It certainly looks like the Dog has some issues with partiality that he needs to get over himself. I’m sure Dog would not be happy if Jesus Christ who came to Earth as a Jew reserved salvation just to Jews, but Dog feels he can play games with race.
Oh well, I’m done with this guy. That’s about all the words he deserves.
update 11/5/2007 9:13AM: Production of Dog’s show has been suspended while A&E investigates. A&E says after their investigation, they will take appropriate action.
This message is currently on the show’s web site:
A&E has learned of the story released by the National Enquirer concerning Duane Dog Chapman. We take this matter very seriously. Pending an investigation, we have suspended production on the series. When the inquiry is concluded, we will take appropriate action.
Of course there is no shortage of garbage on A&E, but perhaps the “Dog” is about to be sent walking.
update 11/10/2007 1:16PM: The lady at the center of it all explains why Dog’s public apology is bogus.
Dog’s had his Black pastor running around doing defense for him.? Having a Black preacher does not mean he’s not the racist nut case that we all heard in his own words.? To me all of Dog’s public crying is for show and bogus.? As the woman at the center of it all notes, Dog never called HER to apologize!? And even if he called her now it would just be a front, because he was called on the carpet about it.

I’ve never liked that scruffy, dirty-looking thing and the only parts of his show I ever saw were when the station showed excerpts from upcoming shows. He’s nasty looking, and his hair is dirty.

I’m waiting to see if Matt & Laurie will come to his defense.

I always felt like "DOG" was faking it when he gave those overdramatic biblical snippets. I’ve watched him call some uncooperative woman the b-word, and start praying at the drop of a hat-he’s a phony. All christians(black and white etc.) should openly condemn this "new" phenomena that is sweeping across America’s landscape. Why is the media hyping this stuff up for their own sick reasons?Come quickly Lord Jesus!

I have to be honest. I’ve watched the show a couple of times. My first impression was absolutly a family of character. (that’s in the cartoonish way) For which reality tv is. Yet I began to by pass how they looked on the outside and thought they lead a moral standard for helping those on the path of distruction. But what was I thinking??? It’s a reality show and we all know there’s nothing "real" about reality shows. But what was real is the racist content in which he used the N-word!

I’ve watched his show a few times. I never searched for it but if it happened to be on, I’d check it out.
I never fell for his so-called "concern". To me he came off as phony but the concept of the show was good.

I did not care for his show. He came off as a phony to me to.

This guy actually claims to be a Christian and speaks in churches. He spoke at Central Christian is Las Vegas. He needs to go sit down somewhere pronto!

Before he repents He needs to shave his mullet and ditch the dangling earrings. Someone has to tell him it’s not 1988 anymore. LOL!
Just wanted to lighten things up!

Even in 1988, the mullet and earrings were a bad idea for men

I thought A&E was going to immediately cut out all the re-runs of the show, but I guess not. When I was flipping channels last night, there was a re-run on. I will admit I used to watch the show sometimes, - but no more. I thought it was interesting that he was being asked to speak to church groups but then he and his wife curse like a couple of sailors on weekend leave.
I wonder if anyone (like his friendly neighborhood Mand of Gawd) had ever tried to speak to him about that mullet and the earrings and the tats. My guess is that if they did, they probably misused scripture and told him "The mullet, piercings and tats are alright, because God Looks at the heart". Umm yeah, but God also said no piercings, tats and long hair on a man. Also, God gave us the breakdown on the human heart in Jeremiah 17:9.

I watched his show a few times (maybe 2 or 3), but always came in after it began. But the first time I saw it from the beginning and saw them claim the name of Christ, I was furious because of the profanity and his wife’s breasts hanging out all over the place. I shamefully admit that the cussing alone should have been enough for me not to watch the second time. I have a real problem when people try to fuse Christ with their nonsense. Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth. They should leave the prayer in the beginning out or stop cussing and put some clothes on Mrs. Dog. I personally could care less about the racism; America will never change. You can tell he’s a racist without anyone telling you. I’m more bothered by his misrepresentation of Christ. And don’t get unnerved when you see them explain why they are not cancelling his show. I will be shocked if they do and if they do, it will not be because they are so outraged, but more because of their ratings.

See the update, production of the show has been suspended. Given this news just broke Friday, it does appear that the network is doing something.
(Although there have been rumors of this for probably months. So honestly I was waiting to see if the rumors were ever going to be confirmed with something like this audio recoding. For a while some of Dog’s family members have been claiming he’s a racist, while the Dog and others close to him claimed he was not and claimed those making accusations had an ax to grind.)
For all we know, the Lord could be crushing the Dog in this life, to have him improve himself in this life. So his soul won’t suffer in the next. When considering him, we should keep this in mind regarding ourselves.
2 Timothy 2:24-26 (New American Standard Bible)
I don’t see him like the pimps, because he never claimed church leadership and those the Lord calls have to start from somewhere. The Lord knows if Dog is His own and we’ll see more in time. This very well could be an all things working together for good opportunity for Dog if he comes to his senses.

My concern about Duane Chapman is that people like TBN’s Paul & Jan Crouch will come along, snatch him up, get him back on TV, give him an ego-tickling religious title and next thing we know we have the newest celebrity making the rounds.
Chapman has the ego they could very easily manipulate. The classic hook folks like the Crouch’s, Benny Hinn and the rest have is that they have big stages and a waiting audience. If you happen to ever see those "Where are they now" type TV shows, featuring washed-up celebrities, 9 times out of 10 they are "working on a new album" or doing something to get back in that spotlight.
TBN has spotlights. Being back in front of a cheering audience again can so easily feel like God has restored you and that now you can use your status to do great things. But, invariably, the celebrity discovers that Benny Hinn is the star here and Crouch won’t take a back seat to some has-been. The celebrities come, get milked for the last buck they can inspire in an audience, then they are dismissed quietly.
Anyway, I hope Duane has more character than to drink the TBN kool-aid when they come calling, but this post doesn’t do much to speak to Chapman’s integrity.

Here’s a bit of linkage to an interview with Chapman he did on a Christian talk show based in Hawaii a few years ago:
http://www.enewhope.org/nhn/nhn-player.php?resourceid=63
I’ll give him credit, he knows his mouth gets him in trouble. The man doesn’t lack insight.
I offer the link so he can be seen in a religious environment, discussing his faith and his background. I admit to enjoying the irony factor here as well, here Chapman is trying to maintain his image as "Dog, World’s Greatest Bounty Hunter" (pretty much a walking cartoon character) but still come across as "just a Christian depending on God". I gotta wonder if his almost constant dabbing at perspiration during the interview says more about hot studio lights or conviction.
