I must acknowledge and give proper respect to this garbage: Al Gore, UN panel share Nobel Peace Prize for climate work.
And will do so by referring all to some truth:
The earth is going through its normal patterns and then one day when many least expect it, the Lord Jesus Christ will come!
Matthew 24:36-44 (New King James Version)

IC,
Like any good Socialist Al Gore himself can have a home that consumes more energy than most of ours combined. Not to mention the fact that he rides around in an ancient Gulf Stream Jet circa 1977. Talk about fuel efficiency. However, for us little people Mr. Gore likes to wave his fat finger at us and tell us what we should and should not do. FYI if you have not read Animal Farm I suggest you should. It is quite a good read regarding Socialism/Communism. In closing let us hope that this does NOT persuade Alfonse to get back in the race for 08.

I certainly appreciate your dedication to scripture. Unfortunately this one doesn’t really apply. God gave us things to be stewards over. One of those is the Earth. I believe we are in the end times. I can site a couple of scriptures and see the world situation. But I can’t say with authority that we are in the end times. The scripture even says the day and the hour only the Father in heaven knows. Paul himself thought the return of Jesus was immenent and people from every time did so too. It’s funny how those who believe the seven letters to the churches in Revelation two and three were representative of seven ages, always saw themselves in the seventh and final age. Therefore we don’t know how long we have.
To be honest I am not an expert on global warming. I certainly don’t worship nature. But as much as I gathered from the arguments is that there is no conclusive evidence one way or the other. But to get to the point this scripture is inappropriate. We have a responsibility to take care of what we’ve been given. To say we don’t because Jesus is coming is shirking the responsibilty. Perhaps we shouldn’t worry about the creatures that are getting extinct or the rain forest being destroyed because Christ is going to return soon. Perhaps we shouldn’t mind strip mining or the depletion of the fishes in the ocean because Christ is going to return soon.
I think the Native Americans had it right when they lived their life for the future generations. Our generation is so selfish. Just look at the amount of personal debt we have. And what for? Just for more stuff? Our government is of course just as bad.
So say global warming is a hoax because you’ve looked diligently into the matter and that is your best educated decision. That I could accept. But this citation of scripture I certainly can’t.
Perhaps your whole point is the alarm being raised about this issue. If you sincerely believed that there was something endangering the planet I’m sure you would try to do something about it. Do you dismiss the Soviet’s or the Chinese nuclear weapons and say don’t worry Christ is coming. Nuclear weapons obviously pose a threat to the end of the world. These people see global warming in the same way. If someone told you don’t worry about the nukes God is coming back that would sound stupid. Yet you are doing the same thing. Hypothetically if someone convinced you the nukes weren’t a threat than great. Stick to your strength.
The use of this scripture in this way really works against your cause.

johnkaniecki - I fully stand by my use of the scripture, because I preceded it with MANY proofs that show Al Gore and the UN’s work are bogus.
I never said to pollute the world because Jesus is coming back. I’m saying Gore is a liar and so don’t worry about what he’s causing hype over and that the world is NOT going to be destroyed as he makes it seem. The verse I cited shows that when the Lord Jesus Christ returns things will be going on as normal as in the days of Noah. Which means there will be life on planet earth engaging in normal activities.
That does not mean I encourage polluting anything. I’m saying that what Al Gore told you is polluting to the point of causing major issues is a lie.
The apostles were not sent out to plant trees, they planted seeds of the Word of God in the hearts of men.

Renowned Meteorologist Dr. William Gray Speaks Against Albert Gore Jr., Because Dr. Gray is Not a Slave to Grant Money!…
When you talk to the experts who are not hooked into The Great Global Warming Swindle, you get the truth.
Best if you read the following in full using the link provided below.
Gore gets a cold shoulder The Sydney Morning Herald - October 14, 2007 - …

Let me clarify that I never said that you promoted pollution and if you misunderstood my statements as such I apologize as that was not my intent.
I realize you had many links regarding global warming. Unfortunately my computer is very slow as I use dial up and I have no speakers connected. I know this however that this subject is something that is hotly debated with people with regarded credentials taking oposite opinions. I also know enough about science to realize the main factor is the sun. The sun so much more immense than the Earth affects our global temperature more than anything else. If something happened to the sun it would dramatically effect the Earth’s temperature in a way that anything man did would be futile. I trust God that he wouldn’t allow this to happen as I believe that His purpose will be fufilled. Yet I also know my physics and that the effects of burning all that fossil fuels will affect the Earth in some fashion. Just look at the smog over L.A. for example. The extent of that effect is a matter of debate. I reject claims that say the Earth will be destroyed in twenty five years unless drastic steps are taken. That is a bold and rash statement and doesn’t hold up scientifically at all. Yet there is something to the whole global warming phenomana. As to exactly the extent of the effect of it I don’t know. You are entitled to your opinion but remember it is only an opinion. It may be a well informed and educated opinion but ultimately it is an opinion. Of course scientists have missed the ball many times in the past. The doctor who first understood germs instituted the policy that all people participating in surgery would wash their hands thoroughly. Infections dropped dramatically. The man was fired and the practice abandoned by his successor. The infections went up to their normal high level after this.
I’m glad that you mentioned that the important thing is to win souls. This planet will be burned and then the only thing that will matter is whether an individual was a child of God. I greatly admire your belief in scriptures as the word of God. That is an excellent point to begin. We all must humble ourselves and let the Word of God instruct us and not pervert the Word of God to make it fit our beliefs. And to avoid confusion I am not claiming you do that but many others do.
Whether global warming is going to have a significant effect on this Earth is really not the fundamental issue. What is important to me are people’s souls. But there are many who believe strongly that global warming is true. As I said previously it is good to refute those things with evidence. An honest search for the truth whether in science, or history, or religion is a noble and worthwhile task. Now remember how Paul said I became all things all things to all men. In Acts chapter seventeen Paul was walking around and saw all these false God’s. How did Paul approach the situation? He preached God’s truths from a perspective they could understand. He didn’t water down the gospel one bit. He addressed the falsehoods of idolatry and declared the true and living God to them. Now take note that he did not quote the Old Testament. (As far as I know.) Why? Because these people most likely never read the old testament or if they had they had read it like a book and not as the Word of God. Now contrast this approach to Stephen in Acts chapter seven. Stephen goes into great detail with the Old Testament. Why? He was speaking to Jews who were very familiar with it and held it as their authority.
God obviously cares about the world that we live in and wants us to take good care of it. Back in Genesis (2:15 to be exact) God assigns Adam to “dress and keep” the garden. This was man’s first recorded task. Furthermore Psalm 19 says “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his hadiwork.” Romans 1 in particular verse twenty shows that creation shows God eternal power.
Someone can go and meet a tree hugger who is convinced global warming is going to destroy the world. One side would cite their experts and the other would cite their experts. The discussion would digress into an argument and both sides would yell at the other and than walk away thinking the other person was a complete, ignorant idiot.(I am not saying this would be you in particular but I have seen discussions just like this.)
Yet a Christian eager to evangelize could circumnavigate the whole conflict. Bring the nature lover to Psalm 19. Show him God respects nature after all it was He who created this beautiful world. Then continue in Psalm 19 where it talks about God’s Word. Explain that nature is beautiful and should be treated and preserved but it is God the creator who should be worshipped.
No the apostles didn’t have a ministry to plant trees. But I recall one “Johnny Appleseed”. Among other things he planted apple trees all around the country. You may dismiss this as trivial, unless of course you were traveling and hungry and you came across an apple tree. (There we’re of course no Wendy’s at rest stops in those days.) Johnny Appleseed is a name every child knows. That alone testifies he did something special. He did a great work. ( I don’t know if he was a Christian or not.) The Bible clearly teaches we all have different ministries. Some, like you were called to evangelize. That is great and noble and I wish you much success. Others were not but that does not make them less important. But we all can’t be hands or we all can’t be eyes. If we were all eyes who would do the smelling. (See I Corinthians 12)
Now saying all this and given time to contemplate and reread all the remarks I still don’t approve of the scriputre used if your intent is to evangelize. Yes it would remind one who believe’s in the Word of God the everything Al Gore is saying shouldn’t alarm you. That is a reassuring message. But the purpose of evangelism is to reach those who don’t know Jesus. Some of these have never even read the Bible at all.
Thank you for your website and all the hard work that you have unselfishly put into. I appreciate a forum where ideas can be discussed openly. I’d also like to plub http://www.healtheland.wordpress.com. That is where I became aware of your site.
