If I was not a man, I honestly would cry after watching this.

Those guys were pathetic, the lady on the other hand was awesome.
October 5th, 2007 at 3:31 am
IC,
I can remember when Kanye West came out a couple guys came on TBN told the audience to listen to Kanye West. This was during the Jesus Walks song. As we have seen Kanye has shown himself to be just like every other rap star. The reason I mentioned Kanye was because He and 50 Cent were going head to head in album sales.
The problem IC is that these two guys in the video represent OUR generation and younger Gen X & Y. So many professing christians listen to this stuff and act just like the world. I can remember myself going to college in the 90s I was so into R. Kelly. Now however I rarely listen to anything because the Lord has taken away my desire for secular music.

It is disheartening. The guy on the right sounded like a deacon from from Creflo’s church - he was all about pointing to “prosperity” being a sign of godliness. The interviewer did an awesome job though of extolling the truth of the Word and trying to get these two guys to wake-up.

The woman knew her scriptures, carried those scriptures and ministered to those two men in the way that I’m positive made the Holy Spirit proud.
Glad she did not take on the attitude that b/c she is a female and they are male, she could not break it down and teach them. It’s possible that they would not have even listened to a male. Instead, they probably would have walked away from a man.
She dropped a Word on them and implanted in their hearts a seed that now has the ability to grow. And I praise God for that.
October 5th, 2007 at 10:25 am
Kyle, yea the older I get and grow, the easier it is to overcome some past temptations. But even when I was young, I realized the lyrics of some artists is destructive and never offered a defense for it. I used to use the same tactics she was using with some kids I used to mentor.
Lynn, she was not assuming a position of leadership over the men. Women like any lay member can offer words to edify, exhort and bring comfort as the Lord leads. That’s what prophesies are for, 1 Corinthians 14:3. She was trying to exhort those men to follow the commands of the Lord, given they call themselves Christians. This was akin to when a wife might exhort her husband, but she does not assume leadership over the house. She admonishes the man to be a man.
My wife does not mind acknowledging me as the head of the house, but the moment I slip, she’s going to let me know. I can’t get her to call me “lord” though, like Sarah 1 Peter 3:6
. (I never asked her to either.)
If they are the Lord’s, the seed will grow for certain. Those men are the lost sheep, not to be seen like the false teachers that obviously have had some influence with them. She admonished them as brothers in the spirit of 2 Thessalonians 3:14-15.
Actually, the source of this problem is that those two men have not been receiving sound instruction from the Christian men around them. They have men around them who they will listen to. But the men around them either are not telling them the truth, or these two men reject the truth and will reject it from her mouth as well. There are reprobates that claim church membership. (Especially when a member of the opposite sex asks, if they think it might work in their favor. Their favor being sinful intentions.)
Pray the Lord’s will be done.
The words from those men’s mouths are a testament to the sorry condition of most church assemblies. The weak or nonexistent guidance in the truth.
And remember, Blacks attend church assemblies more than any other racial group in America

IC
I disagree with the inference in your opening comment. John 11:35 is true.
LOL
Blessings

October 5th, 2007 at 3:29 pm
John 11:35 is true. And they look pretty dead. Maybe I should cry?
Even IF I was caught outside something like the BET awards standing there as a fan, if someone approached me with a mic and after a couple questions asked me if I was a Christian…I think I’d say “no comment” and walk away. (Head hung very low.) Those guys are so twisted, there was virtually no shame in their responses. They basically wanted to tell the lady she was the one who is wrong, for admonishing them.
October 5th, 2007 at 3:44 pm
There are days when you feel like crying but there are days when I just say “Well, leave them alone”.
October 5th, 2007 at 3:50 pm
To IC:
Jesus wept and He’s the Son of Man and God Himself. Holy men in the bible wept so it is not a sin for you to weep. True thought.
October 5th, 2007 at 3:57 pm
OK, here is my cry for them
.
Last night it was real close (honestly). Today I’m not feeling the urge. You folks should have left these comments late last night
.
October 5th, 2007 at 4:01 pm
Now we see why Paul cried night and day for 3 years, just knowing the false teachers were coming and would mess men up like this Acts 20:29-31
October 5th, 2007 at 4:19 pm
You’re funny IC, but I didn’t mean to sound like TD Jakes, although he was right to say it’s ok for men to cry. It is so ironic how these mega pimps can be right about one thing in the bible and twist other things for crying is scriptual.
October 5th, 2007 at 4:31 pm
Powerful point, Brah, regarding Acts 20:29-31….
Really serves to convict me regarding how much I not only weep for those who are rebelling against the Lord/spreading false doctrine & damming influence, as it was with Jesus’s Weeping after denouncing the Pharisees (Matthew 23), but it serves to check me in how often we cry in warning others about the foolisness……or whether we sit back & are comfortable to play “church as usual” while innocents go to hell
October 5th, 2007 at 4:34 pm
Meant to say Luke 19:41-44, regarding Jesus weeping over those who’d refuse Him……
Anyone who says real men don’t cry must not know the MAN—-JESUS—who cried often (John 11 being another example, where he cried regarding the situation with the people/Lazurus)
October 5th, 2007 at 5:06 pm
These two men are representative of this type of justification in all races. People always justify what they want to do.
October 5th, 2007 at 5:12 pm
You’re right looking for truth as are those who mentioned it’s OK to cry. This is spiritual carnage we’re witnessing here. And it knows no bounds.
I think the whole “BET” angle, plus I was already addressing some issues that seem to impact Blacks more than others, is why I went with a title that was race related.
Well my heart cries although no liquid is running down my cheeks and we’ll keep in mind this is not isolated to any particular race.
October 5th, 2007 at 7:38 pm
Sista was great! She gave them something to think about. We have to keep praying for our young folks.
October 5th, 2007 at 9:04 pm
Those poor fools have been misled by their greedy, lazy pastors. 50 Cent is not a man of God, he is a reprobate who’s name has been blotted out of the Book of Life, and if you need proof of that, just seek out the lyrics to a song He did with Mobb Deep, called “Pearly Gates.”
October 5th, 2007 at 9:41 pm
Al,
I have read the lyrics to Pearly Gates and I have to say that you’re right. He sounds like he’s rebelling against God for allowing poverty and suffering and that he would rather have his riches now than to seek the kingdom. He’s sold out to the devil and his attitude is damned if he get to heaven or damned if he don’t but put in a good word for him anyway at the Pearly Gates. Am I interpreting the song right?
October 5th, 2007 at 11:30 pm
BIG UPS! to the young lady that did the interview. She hit those brothas with the truth of the Word. Sadly IC this is the mentality of a lot of the people that are sitting in churches. It’s the mindset that says I can do and say whatever I want and still be called a christian.
October 5th, 2007 at 11:45 pm
This video, along with the re-broadcast of “The Last Days of Left Eye” that I saw tonight makes me sad for so many people - especially those who call a pimp “pastor”. These two brothers probably belong to some pimped out church and have been mislead by the ‘Mand of Gawd’ to think that whatever they do is “alright wit the Lawd, as long as they pay their tithes”. These people are dying right in their sins. Lisa Lefteye Lopes died while on a spiritual retreat. However, from the looks of it, it wasn’t the Holy Spirit. She kept saying throughout the documentary that a spirit was chasing her. I believe it. Maybe if there had been some teaching of the truth by her pastor, Eddie Long, she could have been able to do spiritual warfare and have had a better life instead of going on metaphysical (and demon infested) retreats. It’s sad to see the damage that the pulpit pimps do. They get people so hyped up about the material stuff that their people cannot get any type of deliverance and are essentially walking into a spiritual minefield. My heart aches for all of them.
October 6th, 2007 at 2:14 am
2thehilt, I saw that documentary on Lisa Lopes some time ago and you are correct it is sad that she died searching for something that only the Lord Jesus Christ could give her. It disturbs me that these Hip Hop and R&B artists go to these churches with famous pastors and still continue to live their lives contrary to the Word never producing any fruit (the fruit of the Spirit). Some of these pastors are too busy trying to be on their cds and in their videos instead of telling these young men and women the truth. Check this hot mess out. This happened in April. http://highbridnation.highbrid.com/?p=1788

Having been in Eddie Long’s club 7+ years of being tossed in bad doctrines, I saw him doing it first hand.
And it’s not just Eddie Long, one time, I don’t know what musical artist was in the audience at Long’s club, but the organ player (whatever that expensive thing that functions like an organ is) played a part of what I think was a Little Kim Hip Hop song, that song called “Got a Crush on You”, while some people were pointing out the artist or whoever they were in the audience. I assume they were an artists, I could not see them. But big celebrities came all the time.
Long never will admonish the musicians that promote filth. In fact, on Resurrection Sunday he had his buddy Frank Ski from V-103 address the crowd. Rather than admonishing those in his assembly that claim him as a spiritual leader while promoting filth, Long embraces them. He basically says they are “in the right place” because they are in a church assembly. But he never calls them to stop being some of the biggest promoters of filth in the town.
October 6th, 2007 at 11:15 am
The reason these guys flaunt (”floor-show”) the celebrity “clientele” is so they can gain worldly acceptance and popularity.Remember, Creflo Dollar’s appearance in Ludacris’ “Welcome to Atlanta Video! These men seek world acceptance, so they willingly align themselves with the” movers and shakers ” of this world. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them and they follow me. John 10:27 These guys do not follow after Christ;you can tell by their chosen associates.
October 6th, 2007 at 11:16 am
Do you believe that you can look into someone’s eyes and tell that they’re dealing with the darkside. Or if you get into someones presence or even shake their hands. In 2006, I was on a NYC train and this woman was sitting near me, mumbling something and as I looked at her, her eyes looked strange and creepy and send chills down my spine. I got up and away from her. I wouldn’t say that it is a constant thing with me but sometimes you can tell. I saw the Lopes documentary myself and her eyes spoke volumes to me. Also Christ in the bible spoke about the eyes if it is light or dark and murky,it testifies of the fruit that you bare in your life. I wish I knew where the scripture is located. As for Eddie Long, those souls whom has went to hell or heading there, their blood is going to be on his hand.
October 6th, 2007 at 12:50 pm
SDM, let’s not forget when Evander Holyfield joined up with Creflo and despite the many adulterous marriages, adulterous affairs AND ALL, not to mention the man has no gift of teaching or administration, Creflo made him a “minister”. Then “minister” Holyfield was married I think by Creflo (I forget which number wife that was), only to divorce her like all the others. Evander has married again since then.
art123 - Luke 11:33-36
October 6th, 2007 at 2:21 pm
art123,Yes, I seem to attract everyone that has a mental condition(spirts)around me.I think the enemy does that to startle me or unnerve me, but it is a regular occurance with me and it has been for a while now.Lisa Lopes was involved with too much worldly stuff that is the main reason she could not find peace.Jesus Christ brings peace of mind;I hate she never found him. That’s really sad!
IC, The EvanderH./Creflo divorce situation was a complete mess!Creflo dodged a court appearance because he didn’t want anybody digging in his business!I thought Evander gave him a car or something big.
October 6th, 2007 at 2:43 pm
That says it all right there. Some people recite a chant in front of Eddie Long (I don’t know if she did) and assume their soul is set. Matthew 7:21 shows a simple chant does not cut it. Those who are the Lord’s are sincere in love of the Lord as their ONLY means for Salvation and Peace, by faith and following Him, because they hear His call and He changes them.
Regarding Creflo and Evander, yea, I can’t recall what he gave him off hand, but I think he did give him something, in addition I think he gave Creflo lots of money and we know he wrote a big check to Benny Hinn too. For the supposed healing of a condition that was simply misdiagnosed to begin with. To me Evander boxed the same before and after seeing Benny. Evander always goes limp the last minute of most rounds and tries to flurry the last few seconds before the bell. Well EH should have retired a long time ago, but that’s another matter. Has he honestly retired yet? I used to watch a lot of boxing once upon a time. Wondering who the idiots are who pay $50 for a fight? I used to do that sometimes
.
October 7th, 2007 at 3:00 am
Gee, I don’t follow Eddie Long or Creflo even though I live in Atlanta. Can it really be this bad? The only thing I know is that I get turned off when I see them on tv; so I just don’t watch them.
October 7th, 2007 at 3:32 am
looking for truth things are worse, much worse than you know.
You’re sitting in the middle of one of the biggest hubs of false doctrine in America. That is the truth.
October 7th, 2007 at 1:04 pm
To IC:
Can a so-called man of the cloth dodge a court appearance as stated in the Holyfield divorce case or did he exercise his first amendment rights to get away with it?
October 7th, 2007 at 1:48 pm
I don’t know. Maybe SDM does. No matter the means, a pastor that refuses a court date is not subjecting himself to the “ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake”.
1 Peter 2:13-17 (New King James Version)
Creflo is a false teacher, I don’t consider him as one of the saints, so I don’t expect him to consider the words noted above. He does what best serves his “destiny”.
October 7th, 2007 at 6:54 pm
I.C. Thank you, You have said it all;there is nothing left for me to add.art123, I was just being sarcastic about the “dodging” comment.
