Well I said I thought he was lying and although he’s made his bio a little more honest, the change supports the assertion made by me and others that he was lying before. Lying about his education, although the more important issue remains, that he still spews false doctrine, so he’s still a false teaching pulpit pimping viper. Whoever tapped Byrant’s shoulder about his bio, please tap it again and tell him to remove himself from his post, because he should not be in church leadership.

Graduate Theological Foundation Says He Might be Misleading the Public. (*Updated*). (Unlike the MSM, I’m not rewriting half of that post here just to get you up to speed. Read that post and get all the background.)
Byant has removed the Oxford claim, now his bio mentions his other earned degrees, but does not make any mention of his degree from The Graduate Theological Foundation. Here is a screen shot of what currently is on Bryant’s so-called “church” web page bio.

update 9/27/2007 10:30PM: Well I let our good brother Matt Green know that Bryant was trying to be a little honest about something and he (Matt) informed me that this adjustment in Bryant’s bio didn’t make it to the Ebony Magazine article about Bryant dated this month.

It is a shame that so-called preachers stoop to lying about education to gain advantage and to be puffed up. I have always wondered about so many having doctorates. I am working on my Masters from an accredited University. The BFA was not easy either. But these people seem to get Ph.Ds at the drop of a hat. This is a slap in the face to students who actually complete the disciplines. Thanks for exposing fraud.

I have a copy of this month’s Ebony. When I saw the Oxford claim, it made me chuckle because of what I saw here, on this site. Even though there’s nothing wrong with having an education, it’s not good to brag about it (real or imagined). JHB needs to measure himself against 1 Corinthians 3:18

Bryant is in good company with this guy.
Unfortunately, this seems trending among black clerics.
IC, do you think it may be a case of “whitey” has lied and cheated over the years, so now its my time type of mentality? Maybe the quick “fame” of preaching they seek, needs to be supported with fake educational claims.
Why dont these guys simply go to school, put the time in and EARN a degree?

DL Foster - It’s not about race, just greed. They want to maximize on what is in their covetous hearts now. So they use all the tricks including claims of educational status that may have no foundation in fact. For them it’s about getting theirs, not being honest. Asking why a guy does not attempt to earn a degree and lies about it, is like asking why the guy who robbed a bank didn’t instead try to get a job working at the bank for honest money. The mind of the covetous man does not function for good. The false teachers do the will of their father, just as Christ explained to some others who could not handle the truth, John 8:44.
If we could get folks to understand, that these false teachers ARE NOT of the church, but of Satan posing as part of the church as noted in 2 Corinthians 11:13-15. Saints would know that when these pimps are exposed our work is not an attack on the church at all. But rather a defense of the church, contending for the faith as noted in Jude 1 and shining a light into those dark places.
Bryant jumped in the pulpit as a novice from his job at the ultra-Liberal NAACP. And he’s falling into all the snares scripture said he would fall into.

Race has nothing to do with this. ALL the PIMPS are claiming to have PHDs now. I guess now that Oral Roberts is getting old he is just printing the sheep skins hot off the press for any Pimp. The only one who doesn’t claim to have ANY degree is Joel Osteen and he is as white as they come.

I agree the pimping game is not confined race, but in the context of the dime-store degrees I have yet to see any information on white pimps who claim degrees, but are patently false. And true greed is a primary motivator, but I was simply speculating as to why.
Mayhap there are some. As you pointed out Joel Osteen doesnt claim a degree at all. It just appears to be more of a mitigating issue among the African Americans.

DL - You’re simply seeing it among Blacks because you are Black and many of the people around you are Black
. The pimp game and all its tricks are an international issue that knows no demographic bounds.
Randy White is White and a pimp. He’s got an assembly that has a lots of Blacks, but there are issues with the degrees he claims too.
That’s just one example, but there are pimps of various races with various races in their assembly that run this game.
