A sister in Christ named Lori sent me a message about her experience with false teacher Steve Munsey. I think it speaks for its self and her message to me is quoted below. She gave me her permission to post this here, for the benefit of others that might otherwise fall for Munsey’s game.
Hello there, my name is Lori and I live in Indiana. I have been reading your blogs and I have to say that I agree with what you have to say. I found your blog on YouTube which I did not belong to, but now I have signed up. My search began in trying to find anyone, someone, that knew the fake and fraud that Stephan Munsey from Munster Indiana conforms too. I do not watch tbn or Lesea anymore because they support Munsey’s ministry. Let me tell you what happened to me with Munsey. My husband had passed away and I was looking for a church, I also wanted to quit smoking. I was a Christian then and of course still am. But I wanted some spiritual help to quit smoking. I had smoked for 30 years, so I wandered into his church one Sunday morning. The first thing that happened was I was sitting about in the middle of the seats in the church when someone on staff came up to me and said to me, I can smell that you are a smoker and smokers must sit in the back of the room. I was so desperate for help with quitting smoking, that I almost dumbly walked and sat in the back. He had two “shows” then on Sunday morning and I was not sure which one I was there for. After I went and sat in back this nice lady came up to me, NOT a staff member and she said she was so sorry I was treated like that and she asked me if I wanted help to quit smoking, I said yes. She said look, Pastor Munsey is standing on the stage and he doesn’t look too busy, would you like to go before him and ask for prayer? I said sure. We got on the stage and this woman said to Munsey, this woman wants prayer to quit smoking. Never did he look me in the eye, he said while looking down, so what service are you coming too? He said the first or second? I said I guess the second, since the first must be over. Then he says, ok, still not looking at me, he says, this is what we will do. You go and sit down and wait until service starts. About 10 minutes into the service I am going to say, Oh! The Holy Spirit has just let me known that someone in here is in dire need of quitting smoking, he says, when I say that, you jump up and yell out, oh yes, it is me, it is me!! I couldn’t believe it. So I went and sat down for I wanted to see if he really would do that. Well guess what, He did! And when he said that the Holy Spirit told him someone needed prayer for quitting smoking, I stood up and walked out. 5 years later I quit smoking, with scripture, Praise God! What a fraud. And I think what really bothers me the most, is in the Spirit I can see he is a fraud, all you have to do is look at his face and see that. I am a seer in the Spirit and he is evil and a false prophet and it made me sad for a long time for what he did to me. I did write Lesea and I asked them, with all the prophetic people you are suppose to have in your Ministry no one has seen the horrible ugly evil look all over his face? They sent me a letter back saying thanks for writing them. I was so glad to find you, someone that sees him for what he is,,,I cannot believe how many people believe and follow him,,,makes me sick,,anyway, I hope you do not mind this long letter, but I wanted u to hear from someone that has had a personal horror from that man,,,keep on writing!

When I read this and saw the smokers to the back of the room statement. I thought right away of James 2 and the warning God gave about favoritism in church assembly meetings. Then reading how Munsey played games sounded like his typical style of lying in the Lord’s name. Time after time I’ve warned about this man and those who associate with him.
I’m just happy Lori did not fall for Munsey’s game. And maybe this will help others avoid him.

Can this be confirmed as Steve Munsey is coming to a conference at our 2008 conference here in Australia. The sort of nonsense he promotes doesn’t go well here - most Australians would laugh him of the “stage” (can’t call it a pulpit!)He did an evening service here early this year and I think everyone was so dumbstruck it was perceived as approval - I wold love to be able to prove this story to senior pastors.

newport - Just have a look at these other posts I’ve made previously of Munsey’s game in action. They include video footage. One even has a link to another site that has been exposing Munsey FOR YEARS. That should help you realize, even if Lori made her entire story up, you should avoid Munsey. But given his ways I can’t say I doubt Lori.

I have checked the other posts, and totally agree with you. Lori’s post is a little different as it’s not about money but the greater deception of supposedly speaking for the Holy Spirit - this I find so disturbing when the trend in charismatic churches is the constant demand for a “word” from the “esteemed” brother from the pentecostal circuit (circus).

In those other posts he’s claiming the Holy Spirit is in his midst and that giving money will invoke certain results from the spiritual realm. Even that bears false witness on the Holy Spirit. He claims the Holy Spirit is telling him things like a “double portion” is to come to those who give money. Right there he’s speaking for God, he’s speaking as if the Holy Spirit tells him things regarding donations that are untrue.
You should avoid Steve Munsey and warn all others you can to do the same.

I had to watch the video, as the name was not registering with me. One glance, and I knew it was one of satan’s minions that I pass while channel surfing.
I was saddened, but not surprised, to read of Lori’s testimony concerning this imp, and it is quite clear that they no longer even try to hide their agendas of deception.
Now, I even went back and checked out the footage on Eddie, and that threw me for a loop. I knew he was a crook from way back, but this episode on TBN is one that I’m going to send to my family members that cannot seemingly see through his charade. I now charge them because they are old and wise enough to know better, but yet they sit there, Sunday after Sunday, expecting Eddie to teach them the truth of God’s Word, and apparently, to be seen of men. That’s all I can imagine since their fruit reveals little else.

I slogged through that Munsey video too. At one point he said, “If ya get a busy signal-ah, that means God’s talkin’-ah. That means God’s talking to somebody else-ah!” Because, you know, God can’t talk to more than one person at a time. What a crock! What, God’s gonna interrupt your prayer and say, “Hey, I’d love to help you out, but I got a guy in Boise, needs a word right about now. Can ya hold?”

Good grief…………Munsey is a mercenary pimp. Pimpasaurus Rex, King of the Lizards.
I actually both anticipate and dread his appearances. I think, “What wacky lie will he pull directly from his anus THIS year?? How much CAN one man sweat and still remain upright?? How does that yellow cat on his head stay asleep with all that screaming??”

Hi, this is Lori. I am the one that wrote the information about Steve Munsey. And by the way in regards to his hair,,,,it was dark brown and turning gray and very short when I went to his church. I wrote this info because I was so frustrated with TBN and Lesea Broadcasting for supporting this horrible man and I felt I had nowhere to go to inform people of this man. I live in the South Bend area of Indiana and Munsey’s church is about 60 miles from me and no Ministry even in this area., would ever have Munsey to their church. Everyone around this area knows he is a money grabbing false teacher,,I won’t even call him a false prophet for I will not label him prophet in anyway, even if it is false. It breaks my heart that he is pulling the wool over so many eyes. If I was him,,I would be scared to death when he faces his judgement one day. I was so glad to see this site and someone else that knows of his phoniness. And now suppose to go to Austraila? Since I heard that I have already been praying for the people in Austraila to have their eyes and heart and mind open to the Word of God and not believe this unsacred man. God have Mercy on all of those that he has and will continue to fool. But as for me,,,I am not a fool and I will continue on, letting all who will listen to me about this deceiving controlling man. May God Bless all of the people here that have commented on this man and Grace and Mercy over you and yours.
