I’ve decided that we should pray that the false teachers get one of the things they always hope for, which is a long life in this life here on earth. I say this, because we who know the truth, know they are on a 2 Peter 2 ride straight to hell in their current state. Their only hope is that the Lord call them to Himself and they repent of their greed, swindling and other terrible deeds.
So we saints have to love these enemies of the truth and hope that they might repent. So I’m just hoping we who know the truth pray they might live long enough so that if it is the Lord’s will He calls them and turns them from their evil deeds.
2 Timothy 2:24-26 (New King James Version)

Many of us once stumbled into false doctrines and the Lord brought us to truth. Sure many of the leaders in efforts to promote false doctrines know they make things up. Just the same, we have to pray that they will come to their senses and repent.

Well IC we have to look no further than old Oral Roberts. That man was around when Moby Dick was just a minnow. Or how about Paul Crouch? Last but not least look at James Ewing of St. Mathews Churches the prayer mat scam. Like the song says, “only the good die young”. Peace and love Brother.

IndependentConservative: What do you think of Tony Evans? I normally do not watch him, but I was rather impressed with a sermon of his this past Sunday.

Well Kyle, the good live eternally
.
I always ask those who claim someone unsaved died young as a proof of Romans 6:23 why men of even greater evil live long on earth like the names you’ve mentioned. Because the wages of sin bring spiritual death and the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ for we believers. Given these false teachers are on the road to death, even if they live 100 years on earth it will be like almost nothing. But I want them to have every day that God wants them to have on this earth. So that those who He calls repent.
I feel it would be much better that they repent, although we find that many die only proving they were never called to the Lord.

healtheland - I only heard of Tony Evans because of those who followed his ministry for years and are now disappointed that he’s started teaming up with pimps. So by the time I heard of the man, he was already heading the wrong way.
I’ve heard some of Evans’ work on the radio, sounds good, but when I looked deeper I found what those who are disappointed in him were saying. He’s a guy who is letting the pimps get the best of him.

Question: Since the WOFers say that if you’re saved, you should never have ANY health problems, does that mean that when they DO die, it’s because their faith wasn’t strong enough? Just sayin’:)

Well fourpointer - When the pimps have a problem, instead of admitting their doctrine is false, they claim they had to face it for “you”. As pimpstress Bynum tried to spin her being beaten as something that will help her “minister” to people in “Hollywood” who have problems. Oh yea, she said that last night on TBN (the Triple Burden Network).
So when they die, it’s something they do “for you”
.

Have you seen the news interview?
Am sure she’s singing the song “money, money, money, money, moooneey…

Oh, please tell me you’re kidding! (Oh great! Now I’m going to have to pray for healing for that big red spot I just got from slapping my forehead
)

The operative catch phrase last night was “you’re going through it for somebody else”… Not, I’m going through it because all that stuff I’ve been telling you is garbage. Which is what she should have said.
She even twisted up a comparison to Job for herself. See my other post about some of it.
It was just so much GARBAGE.
Near the end of the show, there was some guy on acting like he was hearing messages from GAWD for Juanita. It was like watching 2 children sitting and playing “tv church”. The rest was a bunch of pimp singers with mics in their hands. Why try being like a celebrity singing R&B when these days you can be idolized and get 100 fold honor singing in the Religious Industry?
The gave the crowd a good dose of that made up anoooointing high, that the pimps keep them longing for.

You make a great point, and I certainly stand and agree with you. I remember my own life, and am most thankful that the Lord didn’t require it before I heard His call to turn from my wickedness.
Imagine if just one of the well-known pimps would confess and repent of his false teachings, what a move that would cause in the Body.
September 5th, 2007 at 4:53 pm
Prisca - And if one of those pimps turned, they’d expose some of the others too. It would be like a snitch in the mafia!
September 5th, 2007 at 5:33 pm
And, that’s what I call a “move” in the Body. Just imagine the likes of Copeland, or even Dollar, coming to repentence; what could the others do, but acknowledge their own erred teachings. Would they then tell the congregation the devil has a hold on them? It wouldn’t surprise me if this be the case.

Not to mention most of her audience were women who in one way shape or form most likely have experienced some type of abuse. Along with the springle of homosexual men. The one brother had a tear in his eye, give me a break. It was truely an Oscar winning performance. The sax/preacher??? I don’t know who are what he was talking about.
September 5th, 2007 at 7:30 pm
That sax dude was a total fraud. He couldn’t even lie good. He spoke that crap out of his own mind and Juanita was loving every minute of it. She should have called that nut out. But we all know that birds of a feather flock together.

Did anyone hear the opening of that show? There were many people claiming titles like “apostle” and “prophet” there. There was even one woman who claimed the title - apostle
. Oh I had to laugh when I saw that. If you’re going to break rules for church leadership, you might as well go all the way!
