After having the mismanagement of funds exposed, you would think that so-called bishop Oscar E. Brown of First Mount Olive Free Will Baptist Church would humble himself. But when you roll with a pimp Kingpin like Morton, you think you actually deserve to fleece the flock. Look at what Mr. Brown has to say for himself. It was noted as a short blurb near the end of this article in the Baltimore Sun today.
…
The Lord looks after his own
The bishop has a Bentley, a Howard County McMansion and, until it burned down last month, a city church that couldn’t pay its water bill. And that’s because First Mount Olive Free Will Baptist Church has its priorities straight, Bishop Oscar E. Brown tells the Afro.“It’s okay for a CEO of a public corporation or a major business to live well, but when it comes down to the servants of God, they think we are just supposed to have less than,” he was quoted as saying. “And I’m not sure that’s how God operates. Especially as we study the scripture, we notice how God’s servants were taken care of in a wonderful fashion. So, I think we just do not understand what ministry is. … I don’t think there is a car out there or a house that’s been built that compares to touching a life that was headed for destruction. Maybe they feel they can put a price tag on it. But I think that’s really missing the big picture.”
…
Of course when he says “as we study scripture”, he’s talking about avoiding how the apostles of the Lord Jesus Christ lived. He’s talking about applying a standard to himself that never was endorsed by the Lord Jesus. He’s talking about old covenant material wealth and ignoring the true standards for a Bishop, which include:
Titus 1:5-9 (New King James Version)

Rather than upholding the standard of avoiding dissipation and not being greedy for money, Oscar E. Brown claims he was doing it all correct. To have an unpaid water bill while he enjoyed a Bentley and lives in an over $500,000 home. He’s come out in full heretic form and claimed HE DESERVES to live like a CEO. He’s claimed that HIS WORK is priceless. Never mind understanding that God calls His own to Himself. So it’s not Brown who deserves credit, but God alone! We who actually know the Lord Jesus are nothing but former sinners saved by God’s grace, who deserve nothing better than death, but were redeemed by a loving Savior. It is Oscar Brown who is missing the “big picture”, because all he can see is himself.
He falls in a category that the apostle Paul warned of:
Titus 1:10-11 (New King James Version)
|
The apostle Paul has this message for Oscar E. Brown and his fellow pimps. A message straight from God, through the Lord Jesus Christ, by way of the Holy Spirit.
1 Corinthians 4:10-16 (New King James Version)

Brown has a long way to go before he comes close to meeting the true standard discovered when we rightly divide scripture.

Pulpit pimpery in Baltimore (Updated)
UPDATE: Independent Conservative has a post about the pastor, Oscar E. Brown, who apologizes profusely for the way in which the church’s funds were so badly mismanaged, and if he has to, he’ll give back the Bentley, repent on live TV nationwide, and …
