Patriotic Ecumenicalism Versus Christianity

by @ 2:24 pm. Filed under The Truth Shall Set you Free!

Our brother in Christ, YouTube user bezel333 has produced another HOME RUN video. In it he speaks about how some seem to lose or intentionally avoid the truth of Jesus Christ when speaking about this nation.

American patriotism and Christianity

In the video bezel333 notes Robert Schuller and Schuller’s son (Dr. Robert H. Schuller and Pastor Robert A. Schuller), both of Crystal Cathedral fame and glory. Once upon a time I didn’t see the problem with that building, but now…oh my. Under the NEW COVENANT trying to construct such with claims it will be for a Christian assembly is a slap in the face of the work of Jesus Christ. Much of that money should have gone to aiding poor saints, the true and incorruptible temple, the church, the body of Christ.

I think when Christians express joy in the Lord allowing them to live in a land that permits free expression of our faith, we must maintain true focus on OUR FAITH. Let others have concern over what concerns them. We are called of Christ and should keep Him always as our focus.

2 Corinthians 6:14-16 (New King James Version)

14) Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?

15) And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever?

16) And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said:

“ I will dwell in them
And walk among them.
I will be their God,
And they shall be My people.”

Let’s work to keep the TRUTH of Christ as our focus.

It really is getting bad out there, brother in Christ. Pay attention to the Youtube link especially.

Well you certainly gave us a lot to think about with all of those links brother.

You know I’m not big into the religious industry these days, so the rise and fall of Tonex was something I heard about after the fact. But it’s obvious he needs a friend to help him find Jesus in truth, because he’s the product of the horrible doctrine produced by the Word Faith religious industry movement. I saw one of what was supposed to be a “sermon” by him on YouTube, a sad sight, but of course the people were shouting, because they didn’t realize how off course that guy Tonex is and has always been. The sermon was a total Word Faith styled mess, just horrible, but the crowd loved every twisted word of it! You know how I feel about that industry. The whole music/radio side of it is a total mess too, which is how Tonex gained a name for himself.

That Nivea video is certainly a shocker. But I say it’s a case of the religious industry’s chickens coming home to roost. If they had never started trying to turn choirs into cash cows, then going a step further to use them in money changer’s marketing, it was bound to happen. And I think we’ll see similarly shocking material more often in the future.

Plenty of “Black” films have all sorts of mess that is supposedly a church assembly and nobody complains. I’ve been over to visit people and they’ll have one of those “Tyler Perry” videos on  … Need I say more?

And Yolanda Adams. I figure she’ll be doing the SI Swimsuit cover next! I mean what else is left for her to do that would surprise us?

The religious industry is only getting worse. Will they be saying But Lord we sold debt in your name…?

More of the Nivea garbage is on their web site.

  4. healtheland Says:

Well, the thing is the reason why our gospel and Christian artists are willing to do this in this country is because the church in recent times - and possibly going back in times past too - has been taught to - how can I say it - worship capitalism. The church has fallen in love with the institutions and culture of this nation, and they teach that there is some spiritual value in them, that those things actually somehow benefit the church. With the white churches, it is the whole “America is a shining city sitting on a hill” nonsense; the whole “traditional American values.” A lot of that I guess came out of the Cold War, when we contrasted our capitalist religious society with the communist atheism. A lot of these people actually started to think that capitalism and democracy were part of Christianity, or at least “Christian culture.” Now black people never went for this mess, because for most of our history we were the ones whose job it was to make the city “shine” with our mops and brooms working as janitors and maids. But still, blacks have always wanted to have what white people have (coveting) and the black church has spent the last 60 years telling them that they should have it. First it was the liberal civil rights movement, and when that fell flat on its face what rose up to replace it was the Word of Faith/prosperity teachers. That is how come these people can act like this with impunity. The white megachurches and religious broadcasters can flaunt their wealth and claim that it has shown how “God has blessed this nation founded on Christianity”, the black preachers and artists can depict it as how “God has blessed blacks to get some of what white America has.” It has gotten so sick that the primary black criticism against T. D. Jakes is not that he denies Trinity, but that he refuses to advocate for more wealth transfer programs to the black community! The root of it all is how Christianity refuses to explain to people the difference between Old Testament Israel and the New Testament church. You have the covenant theologians and dominionists who actually think that you can - or should - have a “Christian nation” modeled after Old Testament Israel, and you have the prosperity/Word of Faith teachers who are actually not all that interested in the larger culture (though Rod Parsley is trying to become a religious right leader) but are more interested in telling Christians that the Old Covenant promises mean that they have the right to demand wealth - or whatever else they want - from God and call it “prayer”. Instead of contending against the corruption of the world, these church groups are either reflecting it, or actually contributing to it.

You said it all right there brother.

Yea that book by JHB is not new. JHB is a terrible man, but some things remain under investigation and will come to light in due time ;) .

I believe that if many churches would actually explain Hebrews 8 chapter, they would put themselves out of the swindling business. Instead, they stick to Malachi 3.

  8. art123 Says:

I had to make an correction. I meant to say Hebrews 7 first but 8 chapter is just as effective.

    To IC
I am a sister who uses my initials and numbers. I would also like to say that I am so glad that the Lord is teaching and showing me what true church is and to be centered on Christ as opposed to the false teachings by false prophets. As long as I’ve got breath in my body, I am still learning. Thank God.

  12. IndependentConservative Says:

My mistake :) . You are right on sister :D !

  13. James Dobson Supports Harry Potter And Mormon Mitt Romney « Heal The Land With Spiritual Warfare Says:

[...] And you see the political ecumenism of the religious right knows no bounds: Dobson may endorse Mormon Mitt Romney for President: James Dobson is Very Likely to Endorse Cult Member Mormon Mitt Romney for President, but Won’t Admit it Yet! Which is a reason why the Washington Post is able to slip a reference to the Mormon author in a post about Christian writers and get away with it. Once upon a time, Christian watchdog groups like Dobson’s would have been the first to complain. What is my main point? Like Independent Conservative said in Patriotic Ecumenicalism Versus Christianity, Christian political ecumenism is wrong, needs to be stopped and opposed.  [...]
