Christian Radio Network Puts Sound Doctrine Before Making Money. Says No To Advertising for Paula White.

by @ 9:48 pm. Filed under The Truth Shall Set you Free!

And we need more to stand on sound doctrine instead of seeking to make a pile of cash!

This story comes out of Syracuse, NY.

Radio station refuses ads about female pastor

Mars Hill, a local Christian radio network, won’t accept paid advertising for an upcoming Christian crusade in Syracuse because a female pastor is participating.

“We can’t comfortably promote women in the role of pastor,” said Wayne Taylor, the general manager.

Mars Hill’s nine-member, all-male board of directors voted unanimously Tuesday to accept an interpretation of Scriptural passages that prohibit women from serving as church elders or pastors. That means the Syracuse-based network of four stations will not advertise or promote the two-day City Wide Crusade, which features a June 8 appearance by televangelist Pastor Paula White.

“It’s a doctrinal issue,” Taylor said. “It’s not about women preaching. It has to do with a woman taking on a pastor’s role.” Some Christians say literal interpretations of the Bible describe specific roles for men and women. “We know it’s not going to be popular,” Taylor said of the board’s decision. “The word of God is what we’re taught.”

Bishop Robert Jones, founder of Syracuse’s Apostolic Church of Christ, the church whose 1970s neighborhood revival developed into the City Wide Crusade, disagrees with Taylor’s interpretation.

“I have no problem with women pastors,” Jones said.

Jones is the father of entertainer Grace Jones and Bishop Noel Jones, pastor of City of Refuge Church near Los Angeles.

Noel Jones and White preached at the 2004 City Wide Crusade at Syracuse’s Oncenter. White and her husband, Randy White, are co-pastors of Without Walls Church in Tampa, Fla.

Taylor andRoberts said the Bible is clear on the issue of female pastors.

“We want to follow the Scriptures as much as we can,” Roberts said. The two cited a reference from the New Testament, an account of St. Paul’s letter to Timothy: “But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.”

Jones countered with another Biblical reference.

“Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,” he said, quoting from the New Testament Book of Acts of the Apostles.

The dueling quotes often emerge in debates about women’s role in ministry.

Notice who so-called “bishop” Robert Jones’ children are. Grace Jones, who always seems to have rather filthy movie roles and heretic Noel Jones. Obviously both father and son are into the lies of the Oneness doctrine. (I only mention Robert Jones’ children because anyone holding the title “bishop” is supposed to have good children.) And once you start twisting up doctrine, you’re only bound to twist more. I told you how they twists Acts 2:17, while they ignore that women were prophesying to Paul, but never placed in roles of leadership. Also, I’ve found that some who wish to usurp sound doctrine that only men should be pastors attempt to play on Acts 10:34. In that scripture Peter was talking about God offering salvation through Jesus Christ to both Jews and Gentiles, it had nothing to do with gender AND Peter fully endorsed men being leaders, not women. Those who attempt to twist Peter’s words should read what he was inspired from God by Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit to write in 1 Peter 3:1-7. Paul wrote that men lead churches and the house. Peter wrote that men head their homes and Peter being an Orthodox Jew who followed Jesus, you know he never adopted any view of women assuming roles in church leadership, or he DEFINITELY would have written about it. (Even today Orthodox Jews who don’t realize yet that Jesus is the risen savior still refuse to have women in roles of leadership.) All apostles of the Lord Jesus Christ were men. 1 Timothy 2:11-13 is sound and clear even today. Certain roles were made for certain genders, otherwise homosexuals would easily be able to say their anything goes attitude is valid. That is why in churches that condone open homosexuality they are assuming positions of leadership.

Another report mentions that the event featuring Paula White will also feature Jamal Harrison Bryant.

I’m glad to see that SOMEBODY believes the Bible ahead of lust for money! I’d like to write to this station and THANK them for going with the Bible rather than with greed. Thanks IC for reporting this.
