Honest Talk About the Holy Spirit’s Influence on Christians.

by @ 4:40 pm. Filed under The Truth Shall Set you Free!

I’ve noted that I take SERIOUS issue with misrepresentation of the Holy Spirit. It makes a mockery of every Christian’s efforts to spread the Gospel and leaves the unsaved thinking that Christ turns us into lunatics. While some feel my addressing these issues with stern commentary might pull someone away from following Christ, I say the Truth ensures that true followers of the Lord will remain and not falsely be carried away with emotion. Allow me to explain my biblical justification for being so stern on an issue like this.

Matthew 7:13-23 (New King James Version)

13) ?Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.

14) Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

15) ?Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep?s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.

16) You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles?

17) Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.

18) A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit.

19) Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

20) Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

21) ?Not everyone who says to Me, ?Lord, Lord,? shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.

22) Many will say to Me in that day, ?Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name??

23) And then I will declare to them, ?I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!?

I care and write with passion about these matters, because I’ve seen way too many people taking a bad road.

The Lord has helped me to see how the Holy Spirit is being fully misrepresented in many church meetings. That means GOD is being misrepresented. Which has people chasing a form of physical emotion, while Christ is not being gloried, although they think their emotional twitches are somehow glorifying the Lord, this is not the case. It’s certainly not encouraging the unsaved to come to know Jesus.

So knowing this, I know the Lord wants me to tell the truth to others. Regardless if some who are doing it take offense or call me various names, I’ve got to tell the truth and I’m going to keep on telling it. Anyone that takes issue with it is never required to read here.

I’ve found that a brother over in England named Lucas Labrador has a good video posted on YouTube, his handle is lucaslabrador. He speaks about what he’s been seeing some of us Christians here in the USA doing and blaming on the Holy Spirit. I think he offers a good spirit led explanation for why Christians should think twice before they do certain things that they feel are done by inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Please give him just 10 minutes of your time, by watching the video below.

Twitching for Jesus
Jesus never twitched!

I hope we Christians bring better order to our meetings and use reason with scripture to bring people to Christ, rather than plays on an emotional high, that misrepresents the Lord Jesus and makes us look foolish.
