John Hagee Fails to Know the Sower For the Sake of Prosperity. (Video)

(*Update: Obviously John Hagee does not like being exposed. A “copyright infringement” claim was made against the 30 second video posted here, although 30 seconds is clearly within Fair Use guidelines.

After filing a counter claim with YouTube, the video is back online and the embedded video below now works.

If the video embedded below ever fails again, here is a copy of the video that Hagee does not want you to see, it’s in FLV format. You can get a free FLV video player here.*)

So in my efforts to help those who are lost, I decided to check out a little of John Hagee. Right now he’s pretty hot in the false teaching of the prosperity doctrine and his ties to President Bush and fighting terrorism keep in insulated from some scrutiny. You folks know I don’t mind Israel as an ally of the USA and I’m all for fighting against terrorism (especially considering the plot to attack Fort Dix), but that does not keep me from standing up for the Word of God. Because Hagee is playing the prosperity doctrine for all he can milk it for, full of false teaching and old covenant theology, that fails to explain the truth. I have to wonder if he’s misled or someone who knows better and working to mislead for the sake of gain. Given his years at it I think the later.

OK, so you know how I usually do, I’ll let you watch the video and then comment, but this time I’ve added a little surprise to the video 😉 .

Who is the Sower Jesus spoke of?
HIMSELF, but John Hagee wants you
to think it’s about you giving him
(oh uh his “ministry”) money for
an earthly gain.

Hagee twisted way more scripture than I have time to write about, but I just offered one example in the video above. The scripture he twisted there was the following:

Matthew 13:3-8 (New King James Version)

3) Then He spoke many things to them in parables, saying: ?Behold, a sower went out to sow.

4) And as he sowed, some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds came and devoured them.

5) Some fell on stony places, where they did not have much earth; and they immediately sprang up because they had no depth of earth.

6) But when the sun was up they were scorched, and because they had no root they withered away.

7) And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up and choked them.

8 ) But others fell on good ground and yielded a crop: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

So Hagee plays it like, yea see you give money to uh ministry (like him) and you’ll get something up to that 100 fold blessing, that’s a lot! It is critical (as in your eternal soul depends on it) that you understand how big of an error it is to follow Hagee’s view of that scripture.

Jesus said many would hear his parables and not understand, from that same chapter:

Matthew 13:10-13 (New King James Version)

10) And the disciples came and said to Him, ?Why do You speak to them in parables??

11) He answered and said to them, ?Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given.

12) For whoever has, to him more will be given, and he will have abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.

13) Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand.

He also mentions how it fulfills the prophesy of Isaiah. You’ve really got to read the entire 13th chapter of the book of Matthew, to fully grasp how messed up it is to get this parable wrong.

Jesus speaks of people like Hagee who see it as material gain when he said:

Matthew 13:22 (New King James Version)

22) Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful

Following Hagee will leave you spiritually in the thorns, not a good place to be! Hey, but you might have some money in your pocket if that’s what you really want 🙄 . The bottom line is, people who want money will get their reward, even heathens know how to make a dollar.

Now know the truth of who the sower is.

Matthew 13:37 (New King James Version)

37) He answered and said to them: ?He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man.

Jesus is the sower. The seeds are his Word into our hearts and Jesus speaks about the righteous being the seeds that grow in Him. The treasure is not earthly riches, but the Kingdom of Heaven, that is the reward for all who love Him.

You’ve got to come to know Jesus in Spirit and Truth. There are many deceivers working that claim Jesus, but can’t even explain a fully detailed parable for the sake of their desire to get your money. Read the Bible for yourself, learn of Jesus for yourself, accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, who was born of a virgin, died on the cross for YOUR SINS and resurrected on the 3rd day, who now sits on the right hand of the Father. Again, read the Bible for yourself and seek to fellowship with believers in your area who walk in Spirit and in Truth.

Heal The Land With Spiritual Warfare leaves this comment, which is most welcome here:

What is worst about John Hagee is that in order to gain the favor of powerful Jewish rabbis and political leaders (which in turn allows him to gain much influence and money through his ?Christian AIPAC? CUFI organization), he has stated that neither he nor any member of his congregation will target Jews for conversion. And he organizes all of these ?interfaith meetings? and things of this sort where Christians meet with Jews but are forbidden of speaking of Christ. Talk radio host Janet Parshall, a woman of God, did a man?s job when she was initially slated to attend one of these ?Christians for Israel? events but refused once the conditions that she had to agree to in order for her to be allowed to participate was known. Sid Roth, Gary Hedrick, and some other prominent Messianic Jews were obviously speaking of the movement that Hagee is leading and is a part of when they began speaking against dual covenant theology, which Hagee claims not to believe in, but his words that he will not seek to convert Jews contradict. Incidentally, in one of his ?nights to honor Israel? (televised live on Daystar all over the world) Hagee got up and declared that Jesus Christ was killed for his political beliefs by the Romans. I have quite a few posts on this fellow and the ?Christian Zionism? movement that he is leading, especially since it is blinding the eyes to a lot of things that probably are not expedient for me to discuss on your blog.

I am very much against those who wish to destroy Israel and hate Jews, but at the same time I am not into Hagee’s twists of scripture. There can be no “dual covenant”, because as it is written:

Hebrews 8:13 (New King James Version)

13) In that He says, ?A new covenant, ? He has made the first obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.

This is a truth that we should not be afraid to proclaim. Because running with Hagee’s twists that attempts to create his own “dual covenant” is not the will of the Lord. The Lord loves Israel, so do I and won’t allow nuts to blow up the Jews. But we can’t go with Hagee’s twists. We are to proclaim the message of Jesus Christ to all, Jews included.

I knew whatever I saw Hagee broadcasting yesterday would not be right and just posted regarding what he was speaking about, but I am aware of Hagee’s other twisting of scripture. Folks this is why Heal The Land With Spiritual Warfare remains on the blogroll. I’m not able to cover everything, not enough hours in a day, but he’s got information that you need to be reading.

[…] Posted by healtheland on May 9th, 2007 First, see the false prosperity teachings of Christian Zionist “I will not target Jews for conversion and Jesus Christ was killed by Rome for His political beliefs, making Him just another failed political subversive and not the sinless God who died for our sins” John Hagee (demonstrating that once you start preaching one false doctrine, it opens the door for a great many others). […] Independent Conservative thinks the second. Based on what IC sees of Hagee on air, and his twisting of the parable of the sower, IC is convinced that John Hagee is more committed to the prosperity gospel, personal / ministry success, and politics / political relationships then to preaching the true gospel of the Bible. Read IC’s post and see if you agree, if you disagree, or if you are unsure of both. IC, can you also take that same scripture "The Parable of the Sower" and talk about predestination?  It would look like Hagee took only a part of that scripture and run with it, instead of talking about the whole concept of "The Parable of the Sower".  That’s what many WOF’ers do anyway.  Just like Paula White at one time watching her take first fruits in the bible and twist it to mean sowing into the ministry and you would be blessed at the end of the year.  Jamal-Bryant is also a big time twister of scriptures.

  5. IndependentConservative Says:

If not for the grace of God, I having read the same words they have read would have never understood.  Understanding it and truly believing it are the work of God drawing to His Son, John 6:44.  Even in that chapter of scripture with the parable of the sower, Jesus makes it known that some are granted certain things and others are not, Matthew 13:11.

For there to be prophesy, everyone has to do exactly what God said will be done.

  6. art123 Says:

    Agreed.

I’d be much interested in what people’s thoughts are on this…

We read in Mark 4:11-12 that he spoke in parables as a judgment against the obstinate Jews. The purpose of parables was to keep his message from entering their ears, "otherwise they might turn and be forgiven" (v.12). Had those stiff-necked people been allowed to hear the truth straight out, they might have turned to receive it.

  8. art123 Says:

Mark 4:11-12 appears to be a cross-reference to IC’s scriptures.  Also, I believe that it supports Romans 8 because can a stiff-necked, degenerate sinner change himself and become converted?  My comment.

  9. IndependentConservative Says:

@7 my thought is the Lord’s will be done period.

Anyone that repents is because God called them to His Son, scripture is clear about that.

  10. IndependentConservative Says:

Gxg, I am deleting your comment that was in moderation, if you wish to debate the matter of predestination, there are appropriate threads for that here and here and here and here and here.

No more on the issue will be discussed in this thread.  This thread is about Hagee and his heresy.

  11. Gxg--G2 Says:

My bad…..but a bit confused seeing that I didn’t start anything and it seemed that the thread was already going in that direction by you/others.

Either way, it’s all good. Spilled Milk….

  12. IndependentConservative Says:

A question was asked by someone about the parable who mutually sees how it plays into the matter.  But if the matter is to be debated, please do so in a thread devoted to that.

We don’t want to take this from the topic for those who may still need help regarding Hagee.

  13. Gxg--G2 Says:

    Cool, Brah….
