Rick Warren Tells Women to Love Themselves. Does Not Mention They Should Love Jesus!

by @ 12:36 am. Filed under Nuts on Parade

The blog A Little Leaven - A Museum of Idolatry has the details. These celebrity preachers (what an oxymoron that is) have the public eye and don’t seem to be using it to promote the message of Jesus Christ. Instead, such preachers have become nothing more than the latest positive message consultants, who make everyone feel good about themselves. The blog detailing this notes:

We here at the Museum of Idolatry have no idea which Bible PASTOR Warren was reading from in order to come up with these suggestions.

Maybe we’re just a bunch of unsophisticated dolts who are not hip to the ‘new thing’ God is doing but doesn’t God’s Word say that ’self love’ is the source of humanity’s problems instead of the solution?

Jesus said:

Matthew 16:24-27 (New King James Version)

24) Then Jesus said to His disciples, ?If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.

25) For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.

26) For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?

27) For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works.

Now if it’s all about Jesus, isn’t that what a pastor should be telling the world, when he is allowed to address an audience outside of the church where he’s the head pastor? I think so.

Hat tip to Calvin Taylor who comments over at Pulpit Pimps. I saw this in one of his comments there.

One Response to “Rick Warren Tells Women to Love Themselves. Does Not Mention They Should Love Jesus!”

  1. Servant of Christ Says:

This scripture and others like it are the least preached about in todays church and their are the most relevant in your opinion why do you think that is. We are more caught up in this emotionally sensual type of so called worship than laying down our lives as Christ instructed hey just a thought, anyway Jesus said this would happen
