We don’t hear of a meeting this large with such a strong rebuke from these guys until they see it happening in their neighborhoods.

Did you notice the words “against administration of an Islamic country”? That’s important to note, because check this out later in the article:

One of the resolutions said that the country had been built in the name of Islam and it was the government?s responsibility to take action to eliminate indecency and immorality in order not to provide opportunity to non-state elements to take law into their hands.

The declaration, signed by prominent clerics, including Mualana Fazlur Rehman, said that people were being instigated to rush to Islamabad and participate in Jihad. ?Masses are being instigated through provocative statements, pamphlets, telephonic address and slogans to provoke them.

Notice, they are against attacks in a country built in the name of Islam. This declaration that appears on the surface to be a strong rebuke against radical Islam. (What Osama bin Laden calls “pure Islam”.) Does not address any acts of radicalism outside of PAKISTAN. In other words, it’s bad when it’s on their own turf, but they are mute regarding attacks elsewhere.

So there you have it folks, a nicely packaged rebuke against radical Islam. If you live in Pakistan. Because they expect the Islamic government to do the job of enforcing things like possibly killing women they feel engaged in fornication.
