So I’ve been having some conversation with my brother over at Heal The Land With Spiritual Warfare about some biblical matters. I never said how persecution of Imus by Christians that refuse to let that petty matter drop could end up stabbing us in the back in the long run. But my brother at Heal The Land With Spiritual Warfare has written it all up in glowing detail. If you are a Christian, that is must read material and it’s not for the milk drinkers. It’s the deep meat. I’m not saying I know every detail of the future, but I do know that Liberals are trying to enforce what can and cannot be said. (Also, they’ll have the “Fairness doctrine” coming back again soon. Just wait, it will go beyond political matters and Muslims plus other cults will want to claim a share of “equal time”.) Plus I know that they hate some views of Christians like myself. Imus today, me tomorrow!
Like I said, I never liked Imus, still don’t, but a railroad job was setup here that lays the groundwork for greater social suppression of opinions. No, what Imus said was not at all right. I even mentioned a 1-week suspension would have been a decent punishment, but the elevation of certain things over the top by Liberals will soon work against Christians. We already face potential jail time in some countries if we say certain things about groups like…pro-sin endorsers of things like the homosexual/gay lifestyle.
Notice the level of efforts to stand against certain kinds of speech is very selective in nature. They don’t seek to put down the most immoral of speech, but their selected application of what they find offensive, while allowing far worse to receive a lesser response. And yea I know Sharpton has spoken against trashy Hip Hop in the past; I also know Sharpton’s outcry against Hip Hop before the Imus incident was a show piece stunt that he carried out not in the name of defending women’s honor, but supposedly to do something about violent lyrics. (And Jesse Jackson’s Rainbow/PUSH summit/talk about it some years back was bogus! But you can’t expect good from the poverty pimps.) Sharpton has been trying to claim trashy rap lyrics are not the same as Imus’ comments. But Sharpton has said many a racist statement himself, incited riots and so on, so you can’t expect good from him.
I’m just a man who reads my Bible myself and base my view on that. Seeing that Healtheland now agrees with me on the matter of rapture coming post tribulation, I feel like oh, ohhh, I’ve gone and upset tradition
. But the apostle Paul warns against giving into fables and wise tales that run contrary to scripture. Read the words of Christ in Matthew 24 yourself. (And I feel the word “generation” in verse 34 probably would have been better translated to a term like “race of people”. You folks who are into the Greek text know what I’m saying. The same word in Greek means multiple things and the translator had to make a best guess based on context.) You’re gonna be here (or your Christian lineage will be here) for a lot more hurt and pain than some teachers would have you believe. Unlike the folks teaching prosperity doctrine and how they feel that Christians will be taking (or establishing) the kingdom here on earth right now and mess like that, I see the words of Christ and worry for my children and my children’s children. Christians living then are not going to be “caught up” before the bad mess starts. They’ll/We’ll be right here for it.
Christians need to be discerning about when to extend mercy. Step away from the emotion and consider things carefully. Consider the people involved in these scuffles and remember, when things get hard, it’s gonna be real bad for Christians. Plenty will fall astray and some that are called Christians today will be the ones endorsing persecution of Christians in the future. Some are already starting to make their alliances known.
