It’s sad to have to write about this in relation to children, but Nickelodeon put them on display with the intent of encouraging others, so it must be addressed. Normally I would not bring up these kids cited by Nickelodeon at all, but Nickelodeon as a network is showing that they wish to encourage moonbat behavior in America’s children. So light must be shined on it, to expose it.

While you were enjoying the Super Bowl this past weekend, Nickelodeon ran a Nick News Special report called “Rebel with a Cause!”. Not to be confused with Franklin Graham’s book of the same name. This Cable TV show was about kids who take on the establishment for change. It was hosted by Linda Ellerbee, who mentioned near the start of the show:

To be young is to be a natural rebel.

The show featured 5 reports on children involved in various causes. I must say that 4 out of the 5 were total far Left moonbat causes. Even the one I do not feel is a far Left cause is one embraced by the Left, but it is also an issue of concern for us who are not Leftists. So you could say the entire show as one big Lefty-fest, since everything shown were things they embrace. While anyone not on the political Left felt left out for most of the show, with the exception of that one opening segment. I think this shows that Nickelodeon wants your kids to be far Left actorvists. I’ll list the segments below. I only agree with the first and disagree with all the others.

• The first report featured 2 girls in high school, who are fighting against child labor overseas. Nobody can disagree with that. We know kids are forced into labor or we should say slavery, to make clothing that we purchase. When it’s identified it is only right to take action. The girls pressed their school to be “sweat free”, meaning the school no longer buys products from nations that run sweat shows. Well done girls.

  I will say that cultural differences were not mentioned. There may be cases where it is the way of the people for children to work and they are not forced into labor, but do it to help their families. We know here in the USA children living on farms start working the fields at a much younger age than some other kids start working who live in urban areas. Although this aspect was not covered, I’m going to say the girls did good and leave it at that, given there are many cases of forced child labor and it seems that is what they were targeting.

• The 2nd segment featured a young boy who was protesting what he considers to be the torture of terrorists at places like Club Gitmo. He went to a mall with other kids in orange jump suits with hoods over their heads. He’s a part of the World Can’t Wait bunch, that wishes to impeach President Bush. They are nothing more than a communist front group, in my opinion. See the grown ups affiliated with that group in action and their communist ties here and here. The little boy featured says that we can’t wait another 2 years to remove Bush from office and he’s not so happy the Democrats won, because for him that’s not enough. The nut jobs at World Can’t Wait are so proud of their ability to convince kids to hate our government and hate efforts to fight terrorism, that they’ve posted the entire segment on their web site. • The 3rd segment featured some young girls in Seattle, Washington. They are upset that their school has standardized tests. The girl mainly featured passed the test, but she’s upset 51% of others failed it. She’s Black, but claims the test is “institutionalized racism” . They call their effort the Education Justice Campaign.

  They are against tests that will help gauge what they are learning, given American kids are way behind their international counterparts, who blow these kinds of tests out of the water and laugh that our kids struggle with them. The kids are doing a lot of protesting, but not showing any effort to help kids do better in school as things are now. They are not trying to help kids do better on the tests. They are not pushing for cooperative tutoring, where they can help one another perform better. They ignore that they should simply help each other perform better in the existing environment, by working to study harder and helping those who need it with tutoring.

  But hey, it’s Liberal Seattle, so that local school board actually agrees with the kids.

• The 4th segment was about a boy who is an animal rights actorvist. He’s against things like the circus. He and his friends held a protest outside of a circus and parents walking in with their kids mostly ignored them. Of course the animal rights Lefties are happy this aired.

  Babies being killed in the womb via abortion gets no time on Nickelodeon, but protest the circus in the name of an animal and they’ve got a camera for you! They are very selective in what they see as a tragedy that should receive some attention.

• The 5th and final segment featured…wait for it…wait for it…if you guess an Iraq war protester you’re right! A teenaged girl in Alabama feels the war is “immoral” and “illegal”. She runs this web site, that was named on the show. She has been featured on news networks like CNN, of course. She mentioned that she gets death threats. That’s just wrong. It’s wrong to threaten death on an adult for their opinion, but even worse to send threats to a child.

  For her Sweet 16 birthday party she held a protest at the Alabama state capitol.

  In all this there was no mention of supporting troops or their families in material terms. I see no mention of that on her site either. No mention of sending even some toilet paper to the troops, although all anti-war folks claim to care about the troops. No mention of helping their families with their living expenses.

  She apparently made a big splash with a What Would Jesus Do video, which featured images of injured/killed Iraqi children. Playing the song Jesus Loves the Little Children in the background. First of all, Jesus is not dead, so we don’t have to ask about what Jesus “would” do. The question is what does Jesus want US to do for HIM? And she made no mention of seeking to send Christian missionaries to Iraq. She made no mention of the plight of the Assyrian Christians in Iraq at the hands of Iraq’s Shia Muslim majority. No mention of the US troops being attacked in the name of Islam, by people who refuse to believe Jesus is the Son of God. Those troops fight so American kids can live in a nation where they can be born and accept Jesus or another faith of their own free will, without being marked for death because of their parents’ religion.

So that was the whole Lefty-fest. These are the messages that Nickelodeon sends to your children.

In 2002 Nickelodeon ran a Nick News special titled “My Family Is Different”, which featured Rosie O?Donnell. O?Donnell proclaims a homosexual relationship with former Nickelodeon marketing director Kelli Carpenter.
