John Edwards Does Not Know if He’d Allow Iran to Develop a Nuclear Weapon. Does Not Believe Homosexuality is a Sin. (Audio)

So I noticed John Edwards was going to be on NBC’s Meet the Press yesterday and I knew this would be the interview that sinks Edwards. The same way Russert destroyed Edwards the last time he ran for President. (I’m no fan of NBC as a network, but when the nuts come out I’ve got to expose them, even if it means mentioning an NBC program.) The MSM is focused on how Edwards talked about raising taxes for his various social programs. But he’s a Liberal, nothing new there. If you want to read about that, get the show’s transcript here. What I found interesting in the interview and what the MSM is not making headlines out of, is John Edwards’ views on Iran and people who choose to live life as homosexuals/gays.

John Edwards said this when specifically asked about Iran’s efforts to acquire THE BOMB.

MR. RUSSERT: Would President Edwards allow Iran to develop a nuclear weapon?

SEN. EDWARDS: I?there?s no answer to that question at this moment.

This man has gone from voting in favor of attacking Iraq, when he felt Saddam possessed and/or might acquire dangerous weapons, to now waffling regarding Iran by avoiding a firm answer to the question. Either you’re going to allow that nut to get THE BOMB or you’re not and even many who claim they won’t really will. So it’s obvious to me that Edwards would do nothing. In fact, Edwards wants to make the same mistake we’ve already made with North Korea, by trying to bribe Iran from building a nuclear weapon. Using the old “carrot and sticks” policy, that politicians love to talk about. The problem with the actual application of this policy, is that we end up always giving them all the carrots and never use the stick. Even after they break every rule imposed on them. Never mind the issues involved with bribing a major sponsor of terrorists! Can you say “Hezbollah“? A vote for Edwards is a vote for Iran having nuclear weapons PLUS our money, in my opinion.

Then there’s Edwards’ thoughts on the gay lifestyle and those who choose to indulge in that form of sin. Edwards does not even feel it is a sin. So he’s way out of step with the Southern Baptist doctrine, that he says he grew up in. I guess John Edwards now disagrees with the very Bible he grew up reading, which says via the apostle Paul:

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 (New King James Version)

9) Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites,

10) nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.

He says he does not wish to “impose” his views on gays regarding marriage. But by not moving to ban gays’ efforts to be called “married” on the Federal level, he’s allowing them to impose their sinful views on the rest of the nation, by trying to have government give special sanction to their sinful behavior. The bottom line is that this WILL NOT remain a state debated issue. Just like with abortion, Liberals will press the issue until Federal courts give them their way, if the Federal legislature does not move to stop them. Without pressure from the Executive branch, it is less likely that the Legislative branch will do anything at all. Legislators will watch courts impose and claim it’s not their fault. Sound leadership is necessary to prevent this.

Edwards feels it is possible that gays are “born that way”. Nobody ever dares to ask if adulterers, child molesters, beast lovers, idolaters, thieves, the covetous, drunkards, revilers, extortioners, sodomites, or other fornicators might be born with their sinful desires. But we’re supposed to see the nonproductive homosexual lifestyle as something that deserves special benefits from government. Since the Federal government imposed on states, via a US Supreme Court ruling (Lawrence vs. Texas), that states can’t uphold morality under their laws, gays can have whatever ceremonies they wish. That does not mean any government should have to offer that any form of recognition. Edwards is OK with government sanctioned “gay civil unions”. The gay lifestyle is historically non-productive, unlike marriage, which Jesus explained in the following manner.

Mark 10:6-9 (New King James Version)

6) But from the beginning of the creation, God ?made them male and female.?

7) ?For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife,

8) and the two shall become one flesh?; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh.

9) Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.?

When John Edwards claims he does not wish to impose his beliefs on someone regarding marriage, he goes against historical precedent. The state of Utah was not allowed into the Union until they gave up polygamy. The Federal government imposed a decent form of order regarding marriage. It has been at the core of what makes a state part of the USA. Now Edwards claims this would be a problem. And that means far more than just gays would have their way with our government. A vote for Edwards is a vote for moral decay!

Edwards would allow people to be openly gay in our military. There goes the neighborhood!

MR. RUSSERT: Do you believe that openly gay men and women should be able to serve in the military.

SEN. EDWARDS: Yes.

MR. RUSSERT: And you would do that as president?

SEN. EDWARDS: Absolutely.

Hear it from Edwards using the audio link below. The clip starts with him talking about Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Also, check out Hot Air’s coverage of John Edwards’ new blogmaster. Total insanity!

Looks like Edwards’ new blogger is trying to clean up old posts.

Edwards’ pick of a blogger sure isn’t going to help him gain ground against Hillary. What a silly move on his part.
