Coincidence?
Shots fired into home of town’s first black mayor
|
I highly doubt it. 2 men who just happen to be the “first Black” mayors have bullets flying their way. Something is up and I wonder about that “suicide”. Some are already starting to use the term “hate crime”, but even if race was not a factor somebody obviously hates Ernest Lampkins.
Removing all the PC veneer, this probably is a racially motivated matter, but all the talk of a “hate crime” should cease. Because any person shot at in that town should receive equal protection under the law and their assailants treated the same regardless of any racial motivations. That is true “equal protection”.
Everyone is saying they don’t have proof of anything racially motivated yet, but when one “first Black” mayor is already dead, do you really need more proof than the bullets that just happen to be flying towards Black mayors?
What is interesting is that Lampkins was elected in a majority White town, so obviously most people really like him. But there appears to be at least one idiot and I doubt they are just some “anti-establishment” nut. The shooter would hope that Blacks would flee as a result, but instead of seeing Greenwood as a center of “hate”, hopefully people will see a majority that should not be associated with an idiot.
Hat tip to reader misaligned_user.
Another report shows Mayor Lampkins was asleep at the time of the shooting.
Shots fired overnight at Greenwood mayor’s house

Lampkins said it best in saying:
I will be mayor as long as I want to be or when the people decide otherwise.
He’s not going to let them run him off.
I don’t know what Lampkins’ political views are and honestly it does not matter. Someone does not respect the view of the majority of voters in that state, attempted murder and should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. And as you know, I don’t give points for people failing in their efforts to kill someone. They should in my opinion be tried as if one of those bullets actually killed someone, because there were shots intentionally fired into the home.

You’re 100% right about the “hate crimes” issue.
James Byrd’s killers got what they deserved – the death penalty for that crime in a non-hate crime state.
Had they been in a place like NYC or D.C., both bastions of “hate crime” legislation, none of those guys would’ve faced the death penalty in either place.
Same with this sort of thing. It certainly is extremely suspect that the first black Mayors of a town get shot at, but often such actions are the work of kooks (like Lynette “Squeaky” Fromm and Sara Jane Moore the two women who took shots at Gerald Ford).
Hopefully the local police down there are good, or if they need assistance the State Troopers can come in, or perhaps even the FBI (I think they can take jurisdiction over politically motivated violence)…you definitely don’t want to give someone that unhinged a second shot.

Mayor Lampkin could really use the rapid fire skills of the NYPD.
The story should read…
“Shots from a 12 gauge were fired overnight at Greenwood Mayor Ernest Lampkins’ house. Fire was quickly returned, and all suspects were hit multiple times. The vehicle was found a few blocks away from the house, as the driver died while attempting to drive to the hospital. The one surviving suspect will be charged with multiple murder, and attempted murder charges. No charges will be filed against Mayro Lampkins. Prosecutors determined that he acted in self defense.”

You’re right Eric. If he’s not already a gun owner, it’s time he exercise his 2nd Amendment rights. Because while God offers the best protection, no earthly bodyguard can defend him and his family better than a gun in his hand.
Jesus had his own disciples arm themselves with swords on an occasion, so I don’t think God would mind if Lampkin defended his family himself. God allows him to provide for his family in other ways, so to do so in defense seems perfectly justifiable to me.
He should pray he never has to use it, but arm himself just the same, if he’s not already armed. It’s just an additional form of “life insurance”
. Let God judge the souls of anyone he hits.

The Second Amendment is vital to our basic right to self-defense and yeah, I’m surprised he wasn’t armed (not sure either way, but if he was, he apparently didn’t get to use it), but ewveryone should be prepared to defend their families and their home (property).
We are the first line of defense for ourselves, the police and law enforcement are the last line of defense.
