Over at Rev. DL Foster’s blog he’s found a quote from Rev. Tim Wilkins of North Carolina, that speaks volumes in only a few words.
For Christians to love homosexuals like Jesus would, they should stop thinking of homosexuality as an orientation and start thinking of it as a temptation, says Tim Wilkins, himself “formerly gay.”
Rev. Foster says:
…
What is now called “sexual orientation[s]” is largely a man made concoction, a product of his sinful rebellion against God. Homosexuality — a sinful condition– then is part of the sexual divergence from the will, purpose and creative intent of God.
…
Amen!
Regardless of the claims of any particular “orientation”, people who choose to act in an immoral manner deserve no special recognition or treatment. Heterosexuals that choose to live together outside of marriage are not granted any special “rights” and once such activity and all forms of fornication were illegal in states across the nation. Americans once desired to uphold a clear moral standard, for the welfare of children and a simple desire to please God. This nation once understood that sexual immorality is an issue of sinful temptation, not “orientation”.
America once knew the moral standard for sexual intercourse is within the confines of a marriage between one man and one woman. Which is why states like Utah were not even allowed to become part of the United States until they could get the standard correct. (Utah has to denounce polygamy before being granted statehood.)
Thank you Rev. Wilkins for upholding a Godly standard and sharing it with the world.
