What’s next Pope? Wash the clerics’ feet?
Pope makes Turkish mosque visit

Everything quoted above is total insanity to me!
I say his actions are a sign of subjection. Exactly what those Muslim clerics want. Their book demands it.
The Koran, Surah 9.29-30

Many people may never recognize how great of an error the Pope just made.

Pope turns to Mecca at Istanbul - The Australian 12/1/2006

I’m still searching my Bible for a case where a follower of Christ, Jesus himself or anyone before Christ came to earth in flesh ever hung out like this with prophets of Baal or other false prophets that denounced Christ as Lord. If any of you out there find such scripture please let me know. Note, the Pope was not spending time with them as an effort to convert them to the Christian faith.

The Pope was right the first time around!
Islam has been spread by the sword, because Mohammed was a warlord who turned his principles of war into a religion.

It’s odd you feel Jesus Christ doesn’t exist in the mosque. Your weakness of Christ not able to hear the prayer of the Holy Father is rather strange. The error wasn’t made by the Holy Father it was made by you and your hatred of His One True Church and by your weakness of not understanding that Christ can hear a prayer not only outside the mosque but yes also from inside the walls.

One true church? Are you attempting to claim that the Catholic body led by the Pope is the one “true” church?
The TRUE church is all who stand for Christ and that body is bigger than you might imagine. It is headed by Jesus himself, not the Pope.
I don’t hate the Pope or Catholics. I love you all and you all are my brothers and sisters in Christ. You just need to learn that the body of Christ is not limited to you.
John the Baptist, Isiah and Jesus himself would never go to pray in the temple of Baal!
Sorry, but just because your Pope did it does not make it right.

My use of hate may have been a little strong, I apologize, distrust or contempt might be a little more useful. I said the Church was the One True Church, the only Church able to trace it’s traditions and history back to that day Peter was given the keys to the Church. And today as Paul wrote,”So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by letter. “ Traditions? Those traditions tossed out back during the reformation, along with most of the Sacraments. True, Christ is the head, but Christ also gave the keys to an apostle to build and run (bind and unbind) His Church. And tradition shows the Keys where handed on and on and on and the Church grew. I don’t know about John the Baptist or Isiah but Jesus spent a little time with all kinds of sinners and persecutors of the Him, even struck down Paul come to think of it, couldn’t have done that if He was afraid to be with him. Would He go into a mosque to proclaim He is The Lord God? I say yes. I just don’t think He would have been intimidated.

And so we must engage in the age old discussion over Peter. Sir Peter knew the truth of who Jesus is. That is the truth and the rock on which the church stands. You see it as all being placed in a man, when it was actually placed in the truth of all that believe. Truth, not flesh and blood that is prone to deny Christ in times of fear. This is why Jesus told ALL his disciples that saw him after the resurrection to go minister the gospel. It was not a command exclusive to Peter. Your church holds no position above any who believe in Christ. All who know the Lord are sitting on the rock of truth that the gates of hell cannot prevail against.
Your church like all others has proven its self prone to scandals and human failures. The rock is not people, but truth
You really need to give up attempts to cover for the Pope’s actions. It was wrong and it’s sad you can’t admit it. This is the folly that comes from someone putting too much of a spiritual investment in a man. Jesus spent time with all kinds of sinners to tell them the truth, not to ask that they be included in trade organizations or political structures like the EU. The Pope’s involvement runs totally counter to the work of Christ.
The spirit of the Lord did not reside with Paul until AFTER Paul was struck down. The Lord was not with Paul when he was Saul and killing Christians. Do you see where your lame attempts to cover for the Pope are leading you? Just give it up because an act that promoted darkness cannot be turned into light. The Pope promoted darkness by spending time in the temple of Satan and showing respect to those praying to a false god. Then asked that they be included in a body of government, when Jesus never suggested who should be part of an earthly government body, especially false prophets.
The Pope never proclaimed that Jesus is Lord while in that mosque. He didn’t do anything but what he was asked to do. Then he accepted a gift from the false prophets that praises their false god.
You would have known if he had proclaimed Jesus as Lord, because he would have been killed.
MQ, if you love your Pope, you’d know when it’s time to tell him to stop supporting false prophets.
There is no such Biblical example of people of God having cordial relations with false prophets for the sake of appeasing the false prophets while knowing they continue to be false prophets. In fact EVERY EXAMPLE in the Bible is the EXACT OPPOSITE.
MQ, I think you see there is a problem. I plead with you in the name of our Lord to acknowledge it.

The age old discussion over Peter lies in the Keys Christ handed to him. Christ didn’t say I’m given the keys to you’all, He gave them to Peter and He also gave the commands to Peter. I’m at a disadvantage here because you should read and take to heart the church leaders and fathers, both yours and mine the ones prior to 1500 years after Christ and their deference to the One True Church, those up until the reformation when the novelty of starting numerous church(s) for any reason conger ed up in the bible and totally ignoring the traditions that Paul spoke about and are recorded from those church fathers.
No biblical examples of Christ and false prophets? How about Paul before God struck him down? Is not the belief in no God as miserable as the belief in a false God? Both fail to honor the true God, both offensive to God. God was with Paul before and after his conversion, no less before than after. Your comment “There is not such Biblical example of people of God having cordial relations with false prophets…….” By the way, where in the bible does it say that it, the bible is the sole interpretation of God’s word? As mentioned does not Paul speak of tradition? shouldn’t we look also to those leaders of the church prior to the 300 years before the bible? I digress, lets just say I feel the Pope went into the mosque and prayed to my God, and your God. I am not privy to what was in his prayer, but to assume that he didn’t ask God’s grace to help bring the Word to the muslims and to help reunite the Catholic Church is well presumptuous to say the least. lastly, if you or I walked into a mosque and praised the glories of Christ and the muslims beat us to death, would not we be martyrs? Or would Christ look down upon us for being in the mosque in the first place?

It is amazing how you attempt to claim Peter got it all while ignoring Christ’s command to all to go and make disciples. Proving it’s bigger than Peter. Then you claim the words of Paul speaking of “traditions” when Paul himself held to the tradition of answering to Christ alone. Not to Peter. Your statements contradict.
Then you bring up what other churches did, when we don’t even want to start talking about times when Popes have strayed from the will of the Lord and even basic humanity. Endorsing things like slavery over people who owed no debt to the men who enslaved them.
No God was not with Paul prior to his conversion. This is a basic truth that light does not walk with or offer cover for wickedness. When light comes to darkness it is for conversion and if the conversion offer is not accepted than that is the loss of whoever decided to remain in darkness.
Then you attempt to stray from the Word and introduce whatever selective examples support your own view. This discussion has gone beyond ridiculous at this point. (For you long time readers of this blog you know this is coming to a close. Since I don’t continue once things go lame.)
The Pope went into that mosque and did nothing other than what he was told to do. Read the update above. He claims he did not pray at all and followed the rules of the false prophets while they prayed. So nice of him to pay respects to their god. That is not a good move by him and not good for your church. Remember we already do church on Sunday instead of the true Sabbath, because of efforts to appease sun worshipers. At this rate Christians will be facing east to pray in the future.
The Pope made sure he would not be a martyr by not calling to Jesus aloud in that mosque. As far as what Jesus wants us to do. David made that one plain for everyone, in the very first verse of the very first Psalm.
Psalm 1:1 (New King James Version)
I’m going to close out this exchange on this note and you should take it to heart, because this is the message the prophet Isiah offered to those who seek aid from the ungodly. Keep in mind that the Pope went to the Muslims seeking help in bringing about “peace” and protection from harm.
Isaiah 31:1-3 (New King James Version)
God help us!

The Pope’s Dealings With False Prophets, Versus Biblical Figures.
I’m not done with the Pope in a mosque facing the east while a Muslim prays issue yet. You can see the video of it all here.
The bottom line is that those actions, capitulating to the prayer customs of Muslims to please them and their god, ins…
